Super clean little market with everything you need! The butcher shop has almost everything you could want, fresh produce and fresh fruits. They sell liquor, beer & wine with a good selection for a small market. Don't forget a lotto scratcher on the way out! 5 STAR for cleanliness!

Amazing find!! Such a quaint yet plentifully stocked market. Good selection of fresh meats/produce Amazing beer selection along with bourbon options that are often hard to find! Loved my visit here, will be back next time RVing in the area!

Beautiful valentinesUpdate: I love the new refrigerator in the front, lots of grab n go items. Bunch of new stuff, too.Love Big Al's, the employees all feel like family and the owners as well. They will go out of their way to help you in any way possible. Huge hearts and kind people.I wanted to update you to say what a huge beer selection they have. There are so many different types, brands, bottles, cans, singles, and talls they literally have it all.Love the staff. They are all so kind!

Great Neighborhood Supermarkets that's Family Owned, has a little bit of everything that you might need without going to one of those Large Conglomerate Supermarkets. They know the Area and the Town and the People in it. Highly Recommend.

I don't even live in Wheatland and I shop at Big Al's between regular shopping because this is such a great little grocery store. They always have what I need, and they have really good meat, and customer service.

Wife, Son and I moved to Wheatland 6/3/2023 and we think this store has just as good if not Better products that the large chains. Shopped at Raleys/Belair for years, but the meat and fruits/veggies here is outstanding. Service is always friendly and reasonable prices.

Great for a small town grocery store!Just don't rush here before closing because they close 5 or 10 minutes early sometimes.But stop by the meat counter, the meats are definitely higher end butcher shop quality and they make great sandwiches

The employees here are always chill, courteous, friendly, and happy to help. Food is gonna be more expensive than bigger grocery chains, but I can walk here and know I will be reliably served with a great selection of grocery items.The sandwiches here are a good deal in my opinion, and extremely tasty as well, you'll see a lot of other reviews feel the same.The butcher has fantastic fresh ground breakfast sausage behind the counter in the display, also made excellent smash burgers with the 80/20 protein/fat ground beef.Just some main points on why I like Big Als.

Big Als is the only store in town it is high priced, besides dollar general which is getting more groceries which makes it more competitive,I like the old style meat counter. And the sliced meat I love it in the summer when the bbq season comes around.They have a great beer selectionI just wished they had a bigger frozen foods dept, otherwise its a great place to shop and the gals and guys at the registers are always pleasant.

This place has a great assortment of beer! If you're looking for something new, try them out. They also have an ok selection of hard liquor. The rest of the grocery store has pretty much everything you need and decent produce. It's the closest thing to Beale that's open past 7pm on a weekend, so that's a plus, too.

Great neighborhood Market with friendly and helpful staff. Feels very welcoming and well maintained, the store is very clean with well stocked shelves. Check out the Green Apple Salsa in the refrigerated section, it's so good! They make sandwiches to order in the Deli at the back of the store, so there is another option for lunch!

I love Big Al's! This is a small town store with a BIG love for community. I hit Al's on my way home most nights for dinner items. They have pretty much the best beer selection around and their meats are fantastic. The employees are all local and friendly. I would give 6 stars if I could.

Big Al's Grocery Store is a nice little mom and pop grocery store. They have just about everything most other grocery stores have. The store is always nice and clean. The people that work there are always super friendly and eager to help you. I've even gone in there for directions when I first moved to this area and they were extremely helpful. I've noticed that the employees actually get to know their regulars. They carry on a conversation with you while checking out which I think is lovely. My only issue with the store is the prices. They are much more expensive than Walmart but I know that's because Big Al's is in a tiny little town. I can honestly recommend this grocery store to anyone in the area that needs to shop. They have a ton of different items. I always enjoy my trips to Big Al's Grocery Store.

Very well stocked and curated small town store. It's clean, with friendly staff and bargain prices, most of all gourmet meats at a fraction of bay area prices. Sale 7.99$ thick t-bones were as good as the best steak served to me at any fancy restaurant in the states. Might make a special trip back to stock the freezer..

Store is clean, slightly overpriced but it's understandable. One of the cons is the fact that it is a mostly white American town... so being a person of color would get you some looks once you enter. You will not shop in peace without an employee looking over at you to see what you're up to when you're not looking. Very disappointing.

They have the BEST sandwiches, if you have never had one, get one NOW! They are huge so you can definitely split it with somebody! Add bacon and avocado, you will not be disappointed! This place is always super clean and well stocked!

This looks like a sketchy convenience store from the outside but once you walk in it is a cute little grocery store. They have a good selection of craft beer and lots of local finds. I love that I can buy kombucha and organic fruits and veggies here as well. They even have a butcher department. The staff are always friendly and helpful and I've never had to wait in a long line.

In pain and barely able to walk, I needed to buy groceries. Small store but has everything you need and most of all the people who work there are amazing. When I checked out a lovely woman noticed I was limping and she graciously helped me carry my groceries to my car. Very grateful and thankful!

Sandwiches at Big Al's are so good!! We have one, weekly!Overall, the store is very clean and produce is always fresh and local. Grocery prices are slightly higher, but definitely worth the price.

Just a block off of the 'beaten path' or main roadway going through Wheatland, stands this little boutiqued store manned with a mini butcher area in the back, a small dessert table set up so eloquently at the front and a freezer full of icecreams just around the corner. This little store is small but mighty. They take Five Star Points, and it has convenient hours, fresh produce, and the meats are kept up nicely. Always filled with locales, that pretty much says it all. I love grabbing a unique brand of beer, a wonderful little dessert, some gourmet chips, a filet minon, and some fresh produce. Bravo to the owners for providing such a local gem.

Should be under Stacy Naylor, but it’s under my bosses ACCT somehow.Big Als market in Wheatland is where you go to have a family home town experience. My extremely disabled dad goes 3 times a day on his scooter. The girls in there treat him as their OWN LOVING FATHER! They know items he’s forgotten, helped pull things from shelves when my family has called ahead for him. He’s still the man of our house at Big Als.The deli sandwiches made for us are always top notch and the fine staff read the note requesting what we’d like. It’s always PERFECT!Darrell, none of us could live without Darrell usually found in the veggie section. Or EVERYWHERE! He helps dad with lists. Yes, even girly products he see’s are low under the bathroom sink with EVERYONES help he’s the happiest man there. Even the beer REPS give dad a hint or 2 on something new. I've always liked this store and have been rooting for them for years as the larger stores start moving in... however i popped in while on the way to visit my sister and it was shocked to find i was the only person in the store wearing a face mask.To add insult to injury, i felt that the staff was rather cold and wouldnt make eye contact... guilt?Anyways... good luck with your future's... but i will be making all future purchases at a location where they take a national pandemic a bit more seriously
