The campground was great! The sites had nice level spots for your tent. The bathrooms and showers were clean and water hot. The rangers were pleasant and friendly. You can't beat the location! We rolled in on our bikes and were greeted with smiles. Totally motorcycle friendly, and we had some great rides on the Avenue of the Giants! I'll be back for sure!

Campsites are decently separated. You can see your neighbors but won't be offered to taste their dinner. Bear boxes in every campsite but we didn't see bears, except for that odd print on back window of the car that could be a hand knocking the glass. Box big enough for large Coleman ice chest and food. MOSQUITOES. Everyone got bit. Girls hid in the tent from dusk to dawn in the tent. Water spigot near camp. Bathrooms not far, showers a little further. $0.25/minute for shower. Found $1.25 worked for most of the family. No campfire program during week. Only Friday and Saturday. Jr ranger program started Wednesday. Fire wood sold at entrance for $10/bundle. We used one bundle a night. Check out camp photos site to get nice view of sites. We liked 86 as it fit our 8 man tent. Market in Myers flat that had basics, ice, snacks, etc. Grocery in Fortuna had the rest.

Good looking campsite with plenty of spaces. Short, beautiful, walking trail through the majestic redwoods with some amazing river access. Wonderful for swimming, picnics, fishing, and more. Very nice campground amenities like water faucets, bathrooms and showers.Restrooms: The restrooms are very nice and there are plenty of them so no long journeys to find one. They have multiple shower locations with handicap parking and access.Dog-friendliness: Dogs are ok as long as they remain on a leash and can only be in camp at your site or for a walk around the campgrounds. They are not allowed on the bike or walking trails in the woods.

It was perfect for two people, we had the first camp site. There was plenty of room for our tent and chairs. They provide a bear locker and picnic table. All you really need to enjoy your stay. Our neighbors were great, they are quite close, but that's just how campsites are. I've seen many people talk about the highway noise, but it was only loud every once in a while when the loud cars went by. At night though the campsite was so quiet, and if there was anything from the highway we slept through it. I saw a lot of families there. It looked like they just got two sites for larger gatherings. If you're staying for a while and need to use the showers make sure to bring quarters. The bathrooms were always stocked so that was nice too. It was also close to a market nearby and close to all of the other Red wood attractions and parks. It was a much needed stay, we loved it!

One of our favorite camp sites… why?1. It’s close to the beach but not on it so you have the best of both worlds.2. Even in summer, it’s not supper hot, temperatures around 75-80F and at night drops to the 55-60F.3. Each site is clean, has a bear box, and a good size. The location of each one is fabulous because you don’t see your neighbors -due to the amount of trees-, allowing each camp site not to disturb others.4. Amenities are great! Running water, clean bathrooms -flushing toilets- and showers; including ADA facilities.5. Has hiking trails and close to other camp grounds, hiking areas, biking areas, a little town, to the beach and rivers.WOOD: $10 for a bundle of 5-8 pieces. Bring your own wood.

We had site 64. Was kind of small and uneven with rocks all over the majority of it in the ground. Really no completly flat surface to put tent. Other sites were eaither up inclines or down steep inclines from your car. The whole campground is on a hill. So to get to our site your driving up a kinda steep incline. Everyone there was loud till about 11 PM. The bathrooms were unusable, there were 4 but 2 were locked and one was clogged. It rained heavily on us the first night so our whole site was flooded. And that was not on the weather app so pack accordingly. Make sure you keep all firewood, chairs, and other non food items inside your car or tent. We left our food grill on the table and it was drenched.

Excellent campground. Great clean facilities including showers. Always tons of first come first come spots too! Make sure you bring bug spray, there are mosquitos!

Good amenities, unique campsites, and a great location. Small camp store nearby has great essentials and the Avenue of the Giants is at your doorstep. Cant wait to go backRestrooms: Flush toilets with push-button sinks across the campground. Good central shower facility with dishwashing sync. Showers take one quarter a minute but do provide good hot water!

Clean grounds and facilities. Hosts/rangers were super friendly and helpful. Sites are pretty small and close together, but no one was a problem. My only complaint is that CA State Parks don't have more first come, first serve, or allow it to be reserved earlier than 1400 the day of. This results in majority of the spots being "reserved", but no one ever actually shows up, then you're waiting around until 1400 when you want a spot.

Tina at the pay booth was absolutely incredible, she helped get us into a spot and helped with all of our questions. She definitely went above and beyond. Campground is beautiful

Great spot to stop for some Z’s… and more! Each camp spot has its own distinct parking area away from the tent pitch site so your first sight in the morning isn’t the grill of your car. Beautiful, wooded, hilly grounds, suitable for a morning hike. Outlets in the bathrooms for recharging, activities on the grounds, and redwoods all around make for a very magical getaway. Happy camping!

Incredible! We got unlucky with weather. It rained ☔️But luckily we were prepared. The camp was clean and not too noisey. The camp has some strict rules which resulted is us getting a written warning. we needed to build a rain shelter and tie to the trees and we didn’t have protection on the trees. Oops. Will think about that next time.

One of the best campgrounds I've visited to date, also one of the most expensive but worth it. Each sites is unique and fairly well spaced apart. The trees and brush in between allow for natural privacy. The running water and showers were nice after camping for almost a week without them elsewhere. The river is not far away and refreshing to cool off in during hot summer days

Great campground with quarter operated showers and individual bathroom stalls which make it safer during the pandemic. The camp sites are small and parking at sites is limited to what your permit says. If you are doing first come first serve you have to be there at 2pm sharp since there is usually a line. The campground is hilly and not easy to bike up and down. There are no nearby hikes but you can drive to nearby trail heads and groves.

Very private campsites with nice facilities. Not as accessible to walking trails as the creekside campsite, but its great to be nestled in the woods. We had a giant redwood right next to our tent! The fire pits are very tall so bring lots of firewood if you want to have a bonfire. They have built in grills and are great for cooking.

Clean and quiet. Large grounds, but loops and sites are well divided. Flush toilets (yeay!) and quarter operated showers available. Soap is present in the bathrooms. Hiking trails leave directly from the campgrounds 😃Sleeping under the redwoods is such a treat. The mosquitos are numerous, but didn't seem particularly hungry. We'll definitely be back!

This is legitimately the nicest campground I have ever stayed. Secluded, private campsites, nestled in the Redwoods. Everyone observed quiet hours. Heads up: showers are .25 per minute. No water or electrical at the regular campsites. To be honest, I almost don’t want to even leave a review because I want this to stay a special secret. Great location but make sure you stock up on your supplies so you don’t have to go back to town! We will be back!!

great campsite. site 20 was very secluded, you could not see any neighbors. you can hear very, very minimal traffic. I love that it's on the avenue of giants, so the drive in is just stunning. the host stays late in the entrance booth (till past 9pm, which is when we arrived) and can help you get firewood. there are decent number of mosquitoes in early July. there is easy river access from the campsite. lots of new growth redwoods and curious blue jays. only con is you can't see the stars too well.

So secluded and so much sense of community. Very spacious lots of landscapes. I would recommend if needing handicap accessible to not shoot for just any camp site.

Beautiful campsite, felt that we had enough space. Bathrooms were clean, showers are 25¢ per minute. Campsite is right on the avenue of giants so there is access to multiple trails.

Too small campsites, the rangers have no personality. Were not helpful at all., every single person in my party was charged a different amount. And they were really rude about where you parked your car even if it was for a few minutes they came and said, "you can't park there." We weren't trying to park there in the first place... RUDE and it made it stressful! Never going back there ever again!

Off the hook Great Place to stay. It all started the minute we drove up to the front gate. Staff was super friendly and accommodating. They let us drive around to pick the perfect site for our needs. Overnight was $35. Fires are permitted in rings and wood is sold at the front gate. $8 a bundle for wood. Here's the big PLUS.....Showers!!!Showers were nice. Super clean! Individual showers had dressing area with a separate shower area. You have a locking door for your own privacy. There were 4 showers in our building. Showers cost .25 cents a minutes but well worth every cent.Campsites are nestled in the Redwoods and wildlife is everywhere. Truly one of the nicest campsites we've stay at. Clean level areas and beautiful setting. Conclusion: Top notch!!! Staff.....you two were amazing (Guy and Lady who worked the evening of June 14th). Great place to stay. Highly recommend.

Deep in the redwoods, next to a crystal clear river. This camp ground is clean. They have a tall dish sink with hot running water. Such a comfortable camp ground. Bring fire wood because it is chilly even on hot days in the city.

The campground is just too beautiful. We had a spotted owl just a few yards away from our camp site, that was hooting each night. From the perfect camp site, to the flora and fauna this is one of our go to camp grounds.Restrooms: Very nice and clean. The park maintenance people were cleaning it every morning and double checking every afternoon.

Pretty cool campground, Campsites were alright, The drive to the top had some rough road and nice sinkholes, Only problem (Not really a problem) I had is the place to set up a tent the ground was at a slant #113, So had to improvise and set up the tent at the end of the parking space. Still a beautiful setting in the woods. Very peaceful at night. Kicked myself all the way home for not asking Rebecca for her phone #, Good people

This place is absolutely gorgeous, adventurous, and magical. The campsites are clean and tucked away, water, showers, fire pits, etc. Then you can hike to the river bar through the Redwoods in about 10 minutes. Shoutout to Christian, he worked his butt off over July 4th weekend, despite some annoyingly angry people who clearly weren't genuinely enjoying the magic of the redwoods. Thank you guys!! We'll be back!

Absolutely wonderful place to camp. My site (#67) was way up a winding hill (signage was a little confusing - second night coming back, took a one way the wrong way!), and very secluded and quiet. Yet only a short walk to very well kept bathrooms and showers. At night it was completely silent - not a sound from any other sites. So peaceful, just lying in the tent and looking up at the stars through the beautiful redwoods.

Very nice campground, clean bathrooms and water spouts everywhere. Watch out not to stay in camp sites close to the Ave of Giants road you will hear cars all day long, and also watch to make sure your camp site is flat otherwise your car or campers will be on an uneven surface. Proximity to a market in Myers Flat and also Miranda is good. Weott there is nothing there don’t bother.

Nice campground nestled in the woods. Showers and restrooms are all separated so you’re in your own space. Staff at the gate were friendly and helpful. Pets are allowed but must be kept on leash, in tents, or in cars. Also, pets are only allowed in developed areas, never on trails. Definitely would come here again and recommend it to others!

Overpriced and overrated for what you get. My boyfriend and I stopped here on a Saturday evening near the end of a 16 day road trip. When we pulled up, they told us they had around 20 sites left, and told us to drive through the campsite and pick out 3 sites we would like. Okay that's pretty normal, except we could only find one site that wasn't reserved. We aren't very picky about sites since we have a camper van and usually stay in undeveloped I sites or rest stops. We figured the rangers could tell us if there were any other sites that were free and we would just take any of them. When we pulled back up to the entrance, they told us they didn't know what sites were left. Really? I'm pretty sure that's like their only job. How hard is it to keep track of which sites are free on a piece of paper? So we just took the only campsite we could find. When we walked up to it, there was trash strewn all over the ground and there was a pile in the fire pit. Come on! Seriously we stayed in campgrounds in Yellowstone that were cheaper and much nicer than this and included showers in your site fee. $35 is way too much money for a site full of trash and no free showers. If you are a city slicker who doesn't know any better and just wants to come here to party then go ahead, this is the place for you. Otherwise keep driving.
