Spots can be tough to get if you're not early or reserving here but the site is awesome. Warm showers, wifi at the visitor center nearby, fire pits with wood bundles for sale if you forgot to bring your own. Overall a great spot, especially for families.

Spent the night New Year 2024. Camp site 51. Not so close not so far from restroom. Peaceful and calm. Must be packed in the summer. Open all year round. Book ahead.

great place for camping! there are bathrooms and coin operated showers. we arrived late at night and woke up to views of the tallest redwood trees i've ever seen! the only negative would be how crowded the space is on weekends. you're packed in like sardines and can easily hear your camping neighbors in the sites next to you. you're also facing the Avenue of the Giants so the road sounds can be disruptive if you're sensitive to that.Restrooms: bathrooms and coin operated showers throughout the campgroundDog-friendliness: we saw several dogs. very dog friendlyPicnic area: there are bear lockers to store your food

We could have stayed here for ages; it was so beautiful and peaceful. While the redwoods in the campground are fairly spread out, the size of the sites made for a decent amount of space between campers, and if a big family wanted to book multiple sites, it would be a great way to spread out between sites. Bathrooms were clean, and single lockable restrooms/showers are always a plus. Rangers had quarters on hand! 50 cents for two minutes; warm-ish and okay pressure, nothing to write home about. Large food lockers/bear boxes at each site. The road noise wasn’t too bad either and we had site #18 which backed right up to the road.

Great campground with facilities. Maybe it’s the time of year, but only 3 restrooms were open which stay busy. Stayed in #52 and campgrounds are pretty close to each other so not the place to camp if you want some solitude. Centrally located for Ave of the giants and dense in redwoods so definitely beautiful.

Clean campground. Bathrooms and showers cleaned daily. Friendly rangers and located next to hiking trails and visitor center. Only downside is the close proximity to the freeway and other campers being fairly close together, everyone was very quiet, however, when my group went.Best part is a half mile hike to a river with opportunities for gorgeous sunrises and sunsets. (Take the nature trail located across the street from the visitor center. Head to the right at the first fork and look for the “River Trail” marker on the right hand side.)

I have never stayed at a more quieter campground. The camp staff were very friendly. There are hiking trails from the camp and places to explore. I definitely recommend this site as a must stop. Please note: do plan ahead and reserve your campsite in advance. It gets very busy here, especially in the summer months and on holidays.Restrooms: There are showers availableDog-friendliness: Did are to stay on a leash at all times

Beautiful campground if you can get a reservation. The bathrooms were disgusting and ran out of toilet paper by night-time. Also the firewood is insanely expensive. $10 for a few twigs. We spent $40 on firewood for 2 days. You are not allowed to gather wood either. Bring your own firewood and toilet paper. Also, showers at $0.25 a minute which seems like a lot for someone that takes normal showers.

06.02.23 since legitimate free dispersed camping is harder to find along avenue of the giants, this campsite offers amazing paid sites beneath the redwoods! still $35/night (i think EMTs/firefighters, seniors and military can get a small discount). we were able to snag a spot on a friday night in June, just by walking up and asking. each site has a picnic table & fire pit. potable water spigots throughout. showers are $0.25/minute— but didn’t test them out. bathrooms are outdated and not the cleanest, nor do they have paper towels or hand dryers. but they have real toilets, soap & water. lovely walking trails surrounding. at&t and verizon service!

Beautiful, clean campground. Decent sites. Bathrooms and showers. Close to lots of hiking, Eel River and Avenue of the Giants. Visitor Center right next door!

Love this campground. Great location on the scenic Avenue of the Giants and a great basecamp for a day or three of adventures. Our site had decent privacy, but some might be considered a little open. Campground is completely shaded by redwoods. On a windy day, there were quite a few branches that came down causing us to move some tents.Restrooms: Usually a wait.

There's multiple trails that connect to Burlington trails and all of them lead to such amazing and beautiful sites and fun fact did you know that supposedly this place is considered as a rain forest or so my co workers sayRestrooms: There's always public bathrooms here people always complain about how bad it is but it's hard to keep it clean when you get tourists walking around who can even aim correctly even when they're sitting downDog-friendliness: You can keep your dog on a leash or off of it as long as it don't become a problem for other campers there's a open area at the visitor center next to the bathrooms and main entrance of the park were a area starts to really open up around the picnic table areasPicnic area: Beautiful picnic area within an open clear area where you can enjoy lunch or picnic with that significant other or just a place just to sit down and unwind appreciating the things around you

Well kept, clean, camp ground. Not one inch of earth is wasted, as camping spots are Very close together. If seclusion and privacy is what you're seeking, I'd suggest seek elsewhere. However, the creative use of tree stumps as part Of each location is beautiful! Plenty of natural places for children to run and play. Park rangers and staff very friendly and helpful. Visitors center right next door,

Enjoyed my stay camping here, the amenities were good. Ended up getting some great information from the state employee/site host. Hikes through the Camp as well as beside make it friendly to get up and go! Sleeping next to a redwood. What an experience.

We loved this place. The hiking was great, even with kids, and the proximity to the avenue of the Giants was a definite plus. Our neighbors could have been a bit further away but it was acceptable. Nice, flat tent spots.Restrooms: Clean and tidy.

Sleep under the canopy of the Redwoods, among new growth and ancient stumps. Clean. Firepit (firewood for sale $10). Food storage. Picnic table. Restroom/shower. Steps away from the visitor center (must visit for history of the area) and gift shop run by friendly volunteers. Right off the 101 Hwy on Avenue of the Giants. I had wanted to sleep in the Redwoods for years and opted to camp here rather than check in to a hotel. It's cozy, feels safe and conveniently accessible to parks and hiking trails. One of my favorite campgrounds. I will definitely go back.

This campsite was amazing. It was very well maintained and the individual bathrooms were an unexpected surprise. There are small walking trails right off site and has beautiful redwoods throughout the campgrounds. They have Firewood for purchase or bring your own (they ask you not to collect wood there). Oh also pets are allowed 💕

We stayed here only one night- wish it was longer!!Clean and very well kept with good size bear storage for all things smelly! Hot water at the bathroom outdoor sinks too!! Walking distance to the river.Absolutely STUNNING stretch of forest! My only negative is that the campsites are close together so we got maaaybe one hour of sleep because a gentleman in the site next to us was snoring SOOOOO loud! 😬😬😬BUT all in all, love love love this campground!

We loved our tour of the Avenue of Giants and this place was a nice addition. The services were clean and the staff want nice. The camp spaces are fairly spread out. I prefer to not see my neighbors but I know they did a good job with this type of vegetation so I can't hold that against the campground. Would def'y recommend. Did I mention the trees? The TREES.

I love this location. I feel like it's the best spot in the Avenue of the Giants -unless you're vehicle is too long! You definitely want to make sure you check that because some turns and parking are tight with the trees through out. Before I moved, my mom would take us there at least once a year so I definitely recommend!

We were blown away... amazing. Can't wait to come back. *It gets really dark quick after sunset, I had a hard time getting our trailer backed into our spot after dark, so I would recommend that you arrive before sunset to get your camp setup.

This is the ultimate camp experience. Super clean and you are among great people that take their outdoor experiences for real. This campground is nestled under the giant redwoods. You have to be there to experience the majestic beauty. The experience is totally awesome.

Beautiful place to stay in the red woods. I stayed one night and had a lovely time. Good facilities and camp area. All very clean as well.

Gave the low score because of the bathrooms, it was pretty bad, in this case someone decided to take a dump in the shower and I only stayed one night so was pretty disgusted seeing that. I stayed on #5, site next to me had afew tents and could hear snoring but still went to sleep with music playing. Prob won't be staying here again with other places near to try.

I've done a lot of car camping and this is one of my favorites. The spots are close together so you wont get that feeling like you're alone. That being said the bathrooms are maintained daily. The pay showers are clean and the water is always hot. The attendants are friendly and super helpful.

Great location, right in the middle of the Avenue of the Giants! Hiking trails right from the campground. What impressed me the most was the campground was full, yet it was absolutely quite, (for the most part) - like you were really out in the wilderness. Plus hot showers?! Nice!
