I've been a Ray's customer in Siskiyou County: Mount Shasta, Weed, Yreka, for my more than 30 years among the "Frozen Chosen." Ray's food place had been around long before my family and I moved here from SF Bay.Usually a butcher on duty and a produce clerk. They try to provide local meats, this being ranch country. Produce isn't the first thing comes to my as local, but I believe there are a few nuseries that grow, strawberries, which love it up here, and flowers and herbs. Sage grows wild and might be cultivated. We are a little corner of the Emerald Triangle. (Ray's does sell a cannabis balm (CBD), however.A good little suoermarket that's good for one stop shopping for the most part. Prices moderate moderate compared with other stores in the area.

Good ol fishing grocery store. In weed. Get off I 5 have to potty stop. Don't go to chevron or any of those 3 in a row gas stations on the right. Grab a bag.of chips and use the clean potty stop.

I went here once and I remember they had really good fried chicken. The rest of the merchandise looked pretty standard to me. The chicken is amazing tho.

Exorbitant prices.Be cautious in buying produce because they will not refund you for the entire amount that you bought, as shown on the receipt. Even if the whole batch was bad, you have to show them evidence of each piece of fruit even if you threw it away because it was gross. Never been treated like that at any other store and first time at this store. Not sure if that was just the one employee who chose to jip me this way .Store should be careful with who they hire or they will lose customers. Attitude is everything in customer service.

Great place to get snacks, deli food or salads and fruit while traveling.We found a great selection of good fresh food there when we spent a night at the Motel 6 while travelling.Much better than another meal from McD's or Taco Bell or KFC.

A great little employee - owned supermarket. Great personable service with a smile 😊. Don't know what big - city grocery prices are or even should be, but in these, to use the cliché "uncertain times" the folks at Ray's Food Place have worked diligently to hold prices down. I even saw a price go lower on one product today! A clean and orderly store that stocks the house generics alongside the major name - brands, and you'll enjoy the great people who work there.

There was an earthquake while I was sitting in the parking lot. Strongest I've ever felt. Therefore it's not safe to be at Rays in Weed. That's the conclusion that I've come to.

Came in just to use the restroom. Was my first visit. In looking for the restroom I covered the entire peripheral of the store. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of meats, produce, specialty baked goods, and every staff member I encountered was friendly and helpful. Once in the restroom I was again pleasantly surprised! It was the nicest grocery store restroom I’ve ever been in. Beautiful hardwood floor, large scenic picture of beautiful Mt. Shasta and a lake covering top half of the wall. Lots of other fine details, such as faucet etc.Yes, indeed this is a five star establishment. Thank you for presenting such a enjoyable shopping experience.

Staff are very helpful and friendly. The selection is very good and the deli serves up great lunches, whole chickens, fried chicken, sandwiches made to order, and full cold deli case. Not a store to stock up on food as the prices are higher than anywhere else.

We are new to the area, and stopped in to get milk and bread. Store is organized and clean. Good selection of meats. However we will not shop this store again. We waited in line will a cashier chatted with another customer for over 10 minutes while ringing up groceries and bagging. Was not a huge amount. When our turn cashier was rude and basically thru change back to me. We were polite and friendly . Poor customer service

Very expensive. Good variety of organic food though. I must add the BBQ on the weekend is priced great and delicious!! And the bbq attendant is the best! So kind and sweet!

It's true that many of the prices are more like a convenience store than a grocery store, but the customer service is extremely good. I asked for assistance from an employee who was stocking shelves, and, as one who provides good customer service does, he dropped what he was doing to help me find what I was looking for. And, as one should, when it appeared that they didn't have it, he apologized sincerely and recommended another place in town where I might find it. But after I went about my shopping, he didn't leave it at that. He kept looking, found what I had been searching for, and tracked me down before I left the store. How often do you get service that good?

This place is absolute robbery. Prices on everything are far above normal, thankfully we now have a Grocery Outlet in town, and a Dollar General to compete with what used to be a monopoly for the basics and food. Good riddance to "Rip Off Ray's" as the locals call it. I never go in here anymore.

Super friendly hometown supermarket. I like this place because I can park my 18-wheeler behind the location and then in the morning when they open at 6:00 a.m. I can walk in and get me some supplies. I walked in shortly after they're opening and immediately I was greeted by two friendly staff members we were eager to help me find what I was looking for. I named the items off and Bam Bam Bam I was out the door in 6 minutes. I wish I had a friendly supermarket like this in my hometown. I will stop again when I can

Hey out there. I love this little market. It's the PEOPLE who make it SUPER. They have been open and compliant with health regs for the current "known" extent of this COVID19 crisis, acting very professionally and with care.They continue to present a good selection of goods, moderately fair prices, and excellent customer service.

Very helpful employees but it was very jam-packed crowded not with people but just stuff everywhere I felt claustrophobic. Really good prices though ..killer view when you walk outside of the mountain
