Simple and functional RV campground. Decent pricing. Clean, level sites. Nice bathrooms and showers. Close access to gas, food and propane. Looks a little down on its luck but lots of gardening and improvements happening as we were there. Dog friendly, a few long term ppl seemed like construction workers for local projects. Laundry room is by appointment. Had an electrical issue after hours and woke up to an electrician on site. On top of that, killer views of Mount Shasta! The Pilot gas station next door was a little loud at times but it's relatively close to the interstate so understandable. Hotel next door was fenced off but tons of trash up against the fence. All in all, good place to stop off for a few days or stay overnight. Would stay here again if in the area.

Great rv park with easy access on/off I-5. Reasonably priced, full hookups, quiet, and clean with amazing views of Mt. Shasta. Would definitely stay here again while traveling.Walkability: Lots of stores and places to eat within walking distance.

No one that works here including the manager is friendly. More along the lines of Unfriendly RVPark. Paperwork taped to window. Went into office to see if they needed anything else and was met with,”If checking in your paperwork is on the window” with a look of don’t bother me. Laundry has to be scheduled, but apparently that has to be scheduled through the manager (what I was told) who’s just as unfriendly. Our dirt area was on the backside of the RV with blacktop by the front door. They seemed to think we had the best spot. Folks that were there overnight or two nights had shade and nice spots. The only redeeming quality was that if you stood in the right spot you could see Mt Shasta. Vacant hotel next door so trash lined the property and driveway. Pilot truck center was next door as well so if you’re on that side you’d have truck generators going all night. Seemed a good distance off I-5 but could still hear traffic. Ok for ONE night but don’t stay longer. Pay the extra to stay in Mt Shasta City.

Park was medium sized. Easy on and off the interstate. Sites were gravel with some small trees to separate the sites. Even though we were very close to the interstate and a truck stop, the RV park was relatively quiet. Check in was easy. Did not even have to go into the office since we had called in advance. As with most RV parks today, there were many full-timers. Those were separated somewhat from those of us who were only there a short time. Only spent one night, but would stay again if the opportunity arises.

A, yes, friendly place to camp. Beautiful views of Mt Shasta with lots of trees. Clean well-kept bathrooms and showers!I wouldn't call it a destination campground, but it's a nice spot for sure and I'd reccomended it to you.I typically do not like campgrounds that allow people to live on property, but they obviously have strict rules as all sites are kept up and clean. We'll done.My only criticism is the placement of the electrical/water hookups. They are on they opposite end of the campsite than the connections to the RV. At least in the area I was in.Over all its a great spot, easy on and off to Interstate 5.Pay them a visit!

It is pretty wild that they call this "Friendly" RV Park. The manager I assume was rather abrupt, to say the least. While we were sitting outside, the workers decided to test the sprinkler system and my girlfriend got sprayed. It was really weird that they didn't tell us they were going to do that. There is a camera in the laundry room, and the manager very helpfully provided an envelope so that we could slip the payment in the slot to pay for it. They left it on the washer so we would see it when we returned instead of talking to us. When we wrote a note to ask for change, we didn't receive any communication, let alone our change. So they'll watch you and chase you down to pay, but aren't really bothered to hold up their end of the bargain. There aren't enough trees to provide you much shade, but there are a sufficient number to block your view of Mount Shasta and make sure a Starlink gets spotty service. The saving grace here is that it is dirt cheap, especially compared to other parts of California. 40 bucks a night is reasonable. If you have the bad luck of getting spot 13, take a wide turn to get in.I would not recommend it nor return.

It's not a bad place to stop for a night or two. 30 Amps was a tad inconvenient, but that's being picky, so no hit on stars there. The drive-thru directions we were left were nowhere near doable as another rig was in the first half of the space. They are one single strip of asphalt with a thin line, dividing them into two spaces with hookups for each. Very quiet and friendly place.

Having made a reservation for our truck and 27’ travel trailer, for a spot, on our trip returning to Canada from Southern California, we would have assumed the roads would have been plowed and sanded within a campground that had an uphill entrance road, and anything but flat pull through and back-in spaces. No notice was given that the campground had 8 - 10” of snow and NOTHING had been done with the roads in the campground. Once you left the bare highway and turned into their uphill driveway, it was a sheet of ice with snow on top. Completely impassable. With the assistance of the campground maintenance man and several campers, we were finally able to manoeuvre to our spot. The staff person at the registration desk indicated she was not the owner, and had nothing else to say. We had prepaid for the reservation and it was too late in the day to try to ‘carry on’. This place is, in our opinion, very poorly managed, and we will not return. The saving grace (as always) is the kindness of fellow campers.Walkability: No walkability. 8 - 11 of snow, with no roads plowed.

Super sweet staff, very accommodating. We had to postpone our arrival day 3 times due to weather and they were great at allowing that. We came in after hours so had to “self park” and the way the sites are set up was a little confusing but it worked out and we got it. An easier way to turn around to get into sites like #14 would be my only suggestion. Turning around a 40ft 5th wheel was kind of a pain. Other than that it was a great place to stop overnight.

Don't believe the name. Manager is the most unprofessional woman I have ever had the unfortunate experience of dealing with. Refused to refund the remaining days blaming a service animal for an unkempt property that was littered with dog feces prior to being snowed in. The manager should not have a customer service position. If I could give this place negative stars I would. DO NOT stay here. Traveling in the middle of a move with my family, this place was the biggest mistake we could've made. I'm just thankful there was 1 positive interaction. The part time lady that checked us in was amazing, that girl needs a promotion. As long as the Manager acts and looks like a bull who can't get his ropes off, this place is definitely one to avoid at all costs.

Easy booking, check in and communication were good. Our first assigned site didn’t have power so we had to move, but other than that it was a fine place to spend one night. The showers were hot, but shower heads need cleaned (soak em in vinegar!) or replaced (think hot shooting needles in the mens). Decent amount of trash and noise from gas station and the road. Nothing a little brown noise couldn’t block out, but wouldn’t be happy staying here longer than a night or two. It’s cute and loved all the trees! Overall great for a quick night off the road while traveling.

Super helpful and friendly staff, they called me the day I was scheduled to arrive to let me know that there were power and water issues... thankfully everything was fine when I arrived!! Busy truck stop next door but I had a lovely time.

We absolutely loved this little park nestled in the woods in Weed, Ca! Wish we could have spent more time there. We were traveling through and only spent one night.Mt Shasta could be seen through the trees from our site. Walk a short block back out to Black Butte Rd and you can see a full view of the mountain in all of its glory. Such a quiet, peaceful place to rest for the night.

Unfortunately we weren't able to stay due to an electrical issue, but the manager, Lauren was great. She tried to help us resolve the issue as much as possible. Sorry we we unable to stay. It's a beautiful little park with a FANTASTIC view of Mt Shasta.

They sure live up to their name! Super friendly and kind. The owner (?) saw our dog and offered up an awesome spot with a bit more room than the other sites. They have a dog area with a bag dispenser, which is an awesome bonus. We loved being surrounded by beautiful trees!Updated after a stay a year later:We arrived after our planned time and the office was closed but an envelope with our last name and site number was attached. It included a park map so finding our spot was super easy. The only downside was that our pull through site stacked two spots so the person who reserved the spot ahead of us, arrived after us - they had a huge rig so parking was rough for them. Otherwise everything was nice, it's a great stop during travel.

Really enjoyed my stay here (in 2018). Came up to visit for a mini vacation because Mt. Shasta is just one of my favorite quick getaways. It wasn't crowded but I found the spot pretty easy to park my 35' fifth wheel by myself. People at the desk and parked around me were kind and friendly and the view was very pretty. Loved every minute. I'd definitely recommend this place and would go back in a heartbeat.

We booked a one night stay over a week prior and then a freak snow storm came through which delayed and rerouted our trip. We called to cancel our reservation (more of a curtesy than anything) but they didn’t answer and we didn’t leave a message. They called us back anyways and told us we should have done a better job of checking the weather channel before booking. As if the entire western states aren’t experiencing the same freak storm. This is the first time in 34 years our part of the country has seen this amount of snow, we really could not have prepared for this any differently. They should definitely change their name from Friendly Rv because they are anything but.

Friendly RV Park is not a fancy place, but it is perfectly situated off Hwy 5 and half way between the Bay Area and Oregon/Washington border...also, next door to a Pilot Service Center...AND it has full hookups and clean restrooms, and the proprietors are friendly. For one night enroute to parts north OR on the way home it's great! We pass through here several times/year.

Nice park. Very helpful staff. Clean restrooms and showers. Laundry. Easy walk to restaurants and fuel plaza is just a couple blocks. Easy on/off fwy.Only negative is that the hookups spaces are not long enough to accomodate anything longer than about a 28 ft trailer with pull vehicle attached. They stack you in two to a long space that's been cut in two to accommodate more guests. You'll have to unhitch and hookup, again, in the morning. If you're going to be there several days, this isn't a problem.

Very strange sites, pull through they gave us hookups we’re in front. We were told to unhook and park the truck in the back. That is not a pull through. Very rude staff ask for another site got lots of attitude and she told us we do not need to come back. No problem no intentions of returning and would not recommend this campground. As a follow up I do not advice posting your review until after you leave. I did not and got a knock on or trailer to tell us she saw our shi!!!! Review and we could leave now. We said we paid and and we were not doing anything wrong. At this point she said she was going to call the police. Really because she did not like my review. To be fair all this is based on a comment about what constitutes a pull through. Overall a good campground maybe a new name is in order.

We pulled in with no reservation and our fingers crossed and we were greeted by the grounds keeper Mark who was EXTREMELY friendly! He was even good with our kids! We tried to pay multiple times but the front desk people never showed and could be heard fighting, So he was kind enough to make sure we were very very happy, plus the grounds were beautifully manicured and very well kept!

Lives up to its name with a very mellow feel. Truly amazing staff. Level sites and clean facilities. Spectacular views of Mt. Shasta. There's some truck noise from the nearby Pilot truck stop but it's really not that bad. I didn't notice any freeway noise at all.I'll stop here again.

Friendly hosts, very accommodating. The park itself is nothing fancy, but well-kept and clean. The bathroom and showers were spotless. Easy walk to a Mexican restaurant with drinks, as well as fast food and convenience stores. Great location, and fairly quiet. Will definitely stop there again.

We have a 40' with tow.Twice we've stayed one night as we pass through. It's close and easy access to I-5. The campground is made of dust and gravel. Some sites offer pull throughs and are relatively level. Most have trees to shield the rig from direct sun and those hot, hot days. Why I gave Friendly RV Park four stars is for the 30amp electrical power. We ran our generator for several hours so we could run two air conditioners. With running two, it took awhile to cool the rig down. Can't imagine running just one for a 40 footer. The grounds are clean and nicely maintained and the staff is true to it's name, very friendly.
