We had to leave town last minute for a funeral and this boarding facility welcomed us with open arms. Their customer service is very friendly and accommodating. Our dog boarded there for about a week.Seemed all well and good til we picked up our pup.3 concerning things happened during pick-up,1. Our dog appears to have lost weight during the stay (looks like she lost maybe 5lbs, she is a ~55lb dog)2. We called to check in on her half way through the stay and were given some reassuring comments about how she was doing. We asked to buy one of the bully sticks from the lobby and give it to her, adding it to our tab - however when we checked out there was no record of this.3. We left her with a toy, bed, and blanket for her stay - They returned the toy and found the bed after a second look. They could not find the blanket. They called us back after we left and told us she destroyed the blanket during her stay. It seems odd to me that this was not in the notes at the time that we checked out. What additionally is strange is that destroying a blanket is very out of character for our dog - she is only interested in toys that have a squeaker. The blanket was a $100 Pendleton all wool blanket which adds a bit to the suspicion as it would be difficult to destroy and they have no pictures of the destroyed blanket.Might use them again for day care but with regards to boarding we’ll be going back to Rover.

I’ve read many good reviews and personally visited the lodge and decided this is a good place to board Koda.. I was gone for a month and wanted to find the best place to board him, on Facebook constantly looking for his pics and emailing staff asking how he is doing. They all said good things and staffs were wonderful when I met them. However, I picked up Koda today, he looked like he lost a huge chunk of weight (6-9 lbs) within a month, I can see his ribs walking and he feels so boney. I was heart broken and when we got home, he was glued to me and would not let me out of his sights. I was charged about $2.4 k for a month and for a good package with 3 playtimes. I really don’t understand why he is so skinny and malnourished…. When I asked the staff why he got so skinny, she just told me that because he has a lot of playtime… I don’t think so.. that makes me uncomfortable.Koda is my baby, it hurts me so much to see him so malnourished, and he would always eat anything and non stop. This is not our first boarding. He has never came home like this. I hope this place would give me a better answer and improve the system.UPDATED 03/28/2023Cassidy (from the pet lodge) has reached out a day after I posted the review and was willing to pay for Koda’s vet fee and check if he is unwell. Koda’s exam came back perfect other than being underweight (lost 8 lbs in total after the stay) After a lengthy discussion with Cassidy, she was concerned and changed the pet lodge policy for every pet that stays longer than 7 days needs to get a weight check to prevent the same thing from happening again, and afterward I requested some compensation for Koda’s stay and we agreed on refunding $400 out of $2.4K. I’m glad to have talked to Cassidy and she was proactive to make changes to better observation on these long term pet’s nutrition level. I’ve changed my review from one star to four star!

It was my dog's first time being boarded, and she did really well. She loved the staff and the suites were well worth it since she had never been in a kennel.

This place is pretty pricey, but I feel so comfortable leaving my pet here. It's worth the money to know she is being cared for. She has stayed here twice and was remembered from the first visit. Staff is very friendly and the facility is clean. Much happier having her close to home rather than having to take her to Reno. Easy pick up and drop off.

So great! My border collie mix was a bit anxious going in but they were so sweet with her and gave her a chance to warm up out in the lobby before taking her back. At end of the weekend pickup, she was so mellow and relaxed unlike some other boarding spots where’s she’s come out pretty hyped/anxious feeling. We will definitely be back!

I’ll be completely honest after our last boarding experience that ended in an er vet visit I never wanted to board my dog again. But I only have good things to say about the pet lodge. My dog who never eats when boarded felt safe and comfortable enough to eat so much so that we actually received a call saying she was out of food, when usually we bring her back home with the majority of the food left over! The pet lodge was happy to provide her with there own food when that happened though, I was even informed that my wallflower of of a dog actually made a friend when normally she would sit in the office with staff all day. This place is about an hour drive from my home and a bit more pricey but completely worth it for my dogs happiness and we’ll being!

We dropped our 6 month old havanese here when we went to ski. He seemed like he had lots of fun as he was snoring on our way back. The drop off and pickup was quick and easy as I had made the reservation and uploaded his vaccination details online. The staff was friendly and responsive. They emailed me the estimated cost, check-in and check-out times. We also received the first day free as we were new customers. Would visit again.

Dropped our two pups here before a day of cross country skiing. Very friendly staff, lobby was clean and professional. Dogs were happy and tired when we picked them up. Also - first day of daycare was free - which is awesome. Will be back!

We could not be happier with our experience at Truckee-Tahoe pet lodge. Our dog is always so excited as we turn on to West River Street and he is always greeted with smiles and lots of love! In a perfect world, we wouldn't have to work and could spend every second with our pup but this is definitely the best alternative we could ever think of! The holiday and birthday parties are the best and the photos we are given as a keepsake are some of our most favorite photos of our four-legged friend! They are so accommodating and helpful! I recommend this place constantly to friends!

This facility is great and the staff is super nice/helpful. They were more than happy to give me a tour when I dropped by. They post pictures of the dogs playing everyday on Facebook, so you can see your little guy playing. I wouldn't say they are priced higher than others, but boarding a pet gets really expensive!

Puppy wasn't anxious when we picked her up which was great. It was unclear how long she was out playing and socializing versus on her own in her kennel - need to ask more questions about the dogs schedule for exercise vs rest time.Puppy has been throwing up a couple times since she came back... Not sure if it's related to something she picked up at the facility. Really hoping it's not related and clears up in its own.

My puppy, ruthie, boots straight to them when we get there. So it makes me feel good about leaving her for the day. I check her after every pickup and there has not been an issue for me.We've been here about 4 or 5 times now and have only done the Doggy daycare. Price has been straight forward for us everytime. I think it's the same amount to other doggy daycares in the area.I have never gotten a card with ruthie's "report card" during any of my visits...I've seen people get them though so they do make a card haha which I was initially excited about because she hadn't ever been to a daycare before.This will continue to be my winter daycare during the snowboarding season.

Pros; Very friendly staff. Clean facility. Didn't see play area (outdoor).Cons: I suggest you ask right up front for the complete listing of charges and check out times.. We were told we wouldn't pay the daily fee, if we picked our dog up before noon. But, we were in fact charged about $18.00 for a morning playtime; since we didn't pick him up before 9 AM. This wasn't mentioned, or noted on their website.(At least not with the pricing and packages.)Additionally, the 'first-time client special pricing' includes an additional fee, which was also never mentioned upfront.These unexpected fees when we picked up our boy, just turned us off and left a bad impression about the place and business practices.

Took my bernese mountain dog there to be groomed. She came out super soft, fluffy, and most importantly, happy! I think she got to play with the other dogs out back while she was there. 10/10 will bring her back

My husband and I love the Truckee-Tahoe Pet Lodge. They are the only place we trust to look after our dog. The staff is always super friendly, we love seeing photos of the pups during playtime, the facility is clean, and the fun themed parties are an added perk. We know Ansel is in good hands at TTPL!

Boarded my elderly chihuahua there for 10 days while visiting family who do not allow pets. The staff were all wonderful and gave Maisy lots if attention. They did not mind us popping in at all different times of the day to visit for a few minutes or take her out for an hour or two.

Called front desk for late drop off, no one answered the door nor the phone. Really bad way to impress your first time customers.(Reply) We called two times in advance (5 hours prior to arrival), the first time asking whether we should be providing vaccine records and the second time to confirm that we will be showing the records on our phone when we do a late drop off at ~8pm. All of which is confirmed by your front-desk and communicated that the above action is feasible. We were not requested to leave any form of contact information by your staff, which explains your lack of record. This is an objective and fact-based review, I have the call records to prove my statement and I'll be leaving my comment here in case your company can prove otherwise, thank you.

Full of charges they tell you AFTER you go to pick up your pet. Went to pick up my partner's dog after a one night stay, asked for an invoice and they said the computer wasn't responding. Noticed the payment requested was a little higher than my partner told me and not what I recall when bringing the dog in. When I finally pressed and got the printout it clearly had charges that weren't requested. I was there when we checked the dog in and nobody mentioned a "mandatory" pet care warrantee (nor did we sign off on one prior) and there was some type of "Olympian Packa" was added for another $25. We were never informed, nor authorized this but at pick up was told it was "required"!! Not in web site, nor at intake; web site indicates that there are choices of "play packages" that CAN be chosen, not that "must" be chosen. Now price of a pet board is near a one night stay at a hotel for a person when the only viewable price is not what it really is. They keep some ratty copy of charges BEHIND the counter. Bait and Switch!! I asked what the charge was, and was told it was a "play package", so even though the dog is assured 3 "potty" breaks, presumably expected in an overnight ans standard at another nearby dog boarding facility, you are paying extra for that without notification. Seems like workers will say (or not say) anything to make money and keep their jobs.

Great place to leave your fur babies when you want to ride the mountain with peace of mind. They have indoor and outdoor areas and feed food you bring. My Shiba had so much fun here. I'm not sure who is more exhausted at the end of the day :)

Warm friendly staff always greets our dog with a smile. They came highly recommended by our vet and our dog trainer. Our dog loves to go and always comes home worn out from a day of healthy play.

This is the only place we take Leki when we go to the Tahoe area! We drop him off for daycare when we head to Northstar to ski for the day. Their hours and location are very convenient. He is always happy when we pick him up. I’d definitely recommend them!

Sent my dog here for 6 days on a vacation. It was nice to be able to drop her off, do non-dog friendly things for the day, then pick her up. My dog always came home exhausted.
