It's remarkable the variety of their selection given their size. Despite it being much smaller than many natural foods stores I've frequented, New Moon almost always has exactly what I'm looking for. The produce is great (and pricey) - fresh and as local as possible. They have a small but ferocious cheese selection and carry excellent meat. I've driven plenty out of the way for their bacon. For vegans and vegetarians, they have ample options. The internal juice bar and deli are also excellent.

The best natural food store I’ve ever been to, hands down. Excellent supplement selection, loose herbs & lots of healthy Whole Foods & grocery. I love their craft beer selection, juice bar & made-to order deli. My favorite food spot in all of Tahoe

I remember when it felt amazing to go here but the sparkles have worn off. They could do a lot better. I think this co-op feels stuck in the early 2000s. Their products are also not that different from the other grocery stores in town. They have limited hours and the staff are all very unique which causes a difference in experience. I honestly just want consistency and reassurance that it’s worth my time and effort. It’s been really hit or miss. I’ve been a regular customer since 2018. Id rather source and research on my own since the products they sell don’t seem to support sustainability in our area. Greenwashed out.

Excellent produce selection. Good quality grains, ice creams, oh and the fresh bread is excellent. Breakfast burritos are good (heavy on potatoes) if you can snag one. Fresh sandwich bar has good produce in the sandwiches. Very cool staff.

Nice little alternative grocery with lots of options for gf/df/vegan etc. Great sandwich bar. Staff was very knowledgeable about cross contamination and how to prepare something i would be safest with.

Love this place - for fresh juice (try the Sunset Surprise - super gingery 😜), supplements, healthy foods, fresh organic local produce, deli, prepackaged snacks (their tuna salad is incredible), wine, - this is my go-to every time I’m in Truckee. Seriously. A little pricey and parking is the pits.. but it’s right on par for the area.

Was in on the 21st. Some Mexican guy with tattoos who works here threw an absolute fit. He was rude, condescending, and an total ahole to his fellow employee and made every person standing at the registers uncomfortable. Honestly by the way the registers staff shook their heads and went about their business, I'd say this happens often. Never felt more bad for people working somewhere as I do now. My fiance & I agree that we won't be shopping here if they let employees treat customers and themselves like that.

Just stopped in on the way through for the first time today, what an amazing little market! I wish I had needed to do a full shop there, I could have spent a lot of time enjoying the selection and the people. Fitting a juice bar AND a sandwich counter into the space was genius... my juice, smoothie, and sandwich were all perfect! Looking forward to next time 🌝

I could've spent all day here!My girlfriend and I stopped in on the way to Sacramento and we were so impressed. The staff was friendly, helpful, fast, and efficient. I didn't catch his name, but the man who helps in the herbal medicine section was very knowledgeable and clearly passionate about what he does. The selection of products was mainly focused around local and naturally sourced products including a large craft beer section, local and imported wines/cheeses, a craft juice bar, and my personal favorite, the deli/sandwich counter. I ordered a Reuben and a BLT - Reuben on the way out and BLT on the way home (I had to stop on the way back haha). Both were incredible! If you've never been, plan at least an hour to check out the whole store, it's worth it!

Absolutely one of the best natural food market in the country! The staff are friendly and knowledgable and helpful. I was so happy to find this gem for my trip to Palisades. I was able to buy everything I needed to eat in for several days and nights. I wish I had one of these shops in my town and in Mammoth. Bonus points for the owner's "how not to be an invasive species" article by the way! I didn't try anything from the cafe, but definitely will next time. It's great to be able to find vegan options!

My mid rating is mostly due to the markup. Nice to have this option but comes at a premium. It's a small micro whole foods, but more expensive. Great friendly staff. Most products you expect to find at whole foods for sale like chocolates or fancy gluten free paleo items, milk etc are sold at full suggested retail price. Their hot bar and juice bar is nice, and the alcohol selection. Fresh produce minus the couple sales items have quite a markup in here. Its right off I-80 in Truckee. Some items are reasonably priced. I stop by here due to convenience, but def aware of the markup.

The sandwiches are delicious and you can find amazing homemade dressings and salads and desserts. They make fresh juices. I could go on and on but you won’t really understand until you go and experience the awesomeness yourself!

Love this place, stop here every time for some good "healthy" food on the way back to the Bay. Love the soups they offer, "wild horses" is my favorite sandwich. The smoothies they offer are awesome! And the service is exceptional.

New Moon has the best organic, sustainable vegetable, and food in our area. I do all my shopping there.The workers are helpful and friendly in all the areas, produce, herbal remedies, meats, and dry goods, also the juice bar, and sandwich bar.I have been shopping there and Tahoe City for decades.

The Truckee location of New Moon is a Community Hub. They have just what I need and want plus I run into many friends when shopping there. The owners are wonderful people who are invested in the local community. I have been on staff and feel proud to have worked at such a wonderful place. Oh yeah, awesome made to order organic sandwiches and beverages! Yum!!The Tahoe City location is my go to spot when I’m heading to Lake Tahoe. A bit smaller location and a different cafe and it is definitely worth checking out.

Really cool health food shop with kombucha bar and wide selection of products. Staff is super knowledgeable and nice. On my way home after evacuations had a great conversation with the cashier who was so sweet. This place has got "it"

A2 heavy cream, salamis, good cheeses, chocolate, and wine, local coffee, beef, chicken and eggs. As close to gourmet as I've found within 40 miles. Even some better prices than the two big chain groceries in town.

Andrew was so knowledgeable about what may help my sinus issues. I had just left the doctor with very little help, and then came to New Moon where I was given 30 minutes of Andrew’s time to dive into systemic issues.I did more research and Andrew was spot on. Turmeric for Inflammation, nettle for repairing the lining inside the nose, horse radish and other recommendations.Thank you! 🙏🏻

Absolutely love this store and the quality foods they offer.The prices are right in line with any other grocery store- except at New Moon you are getting the best organic and health foods, so technically they offer better prices than the other stores in Truckee!

New Moon is an incredible natural foods store. It is such an important part of our community. It’s where we gather nutritional food for our families and where the staff educates us on health and wellness. I love how I can go here at any point during any day and always see a familiar face. Their selection of fresh foods is wonderful, as is their extensive offerings of herbs and homeopathic remedies. The deli offers affordable and awesome choices for quick meals and they even have a kombucha station you can fill a growler with.
