We stayed in a cabin and paid a bit extra for a nicer one with wifi. Worth it. The only issues were that there is a connected cabin to the back, and their kids keep trying to open our door and virtually zero water pressure in the shower. I like the atmosphere, though. I would definitely stay here again. The firewood we were given was too green and wet for the stove also. So I couldn't build a fire in the stove for ambiance. Great location. Cute town.

We went up to visit the area and a couple of friends and came across this RV resort through Google. I initially screwed up our reservation and we arrived a day early, but they were able to accommodate us and even suggested a better site for our trailer which we took them up on. The ladies at the front desk were super friendly and helpful. While the rv sites towards the front of the park are pretty close to each other, everyone was super respectful of each other and it was quiet and relaxing. My toddler enjoyed the playground and finding banana slugs. The bathrooms were super clean too. We’re definitely interested in coming back during the summer and staying in one of their cabins!

Well maintained cozy little cabin. This was perfect for my wife and I on a two day visit to the area.Short trip to the Redwoods National and state parks. A one mile drive to a little town with groceries, restaurants and a great view. The cabin was next to some beautiful redwood trees. Well maintained and modern fixtures. Staff was very helpful and friendly.

We stayed in the one room cabin, and it was a little tight but overall a super cool place to stay and explore the area. The area that the cabins/campground is in is beautiful and feels very secluded while still being relatively close to services. The room was clean and had everything we needed. Only two complaints are that the internet was slow and water tasted kinda funny (I still drank tons of it and had no issues), but stuff like this is to be expected in the woods. I Would highly recommend this place and can’t wait to come back!Nearby activities: The town of Trinidad is about a half mile away and has some beautiful beaches and hiking trails

We were on cabin O and it was really nice. It has a wood stove and electric heat, so you were always warm. Bring some paper towels, that is the only thing I can think that we needed. It was great, we do a lot of camping with our trailer but this was nice to show up and everything was ready for you. We will be doing this again.Walkability: Even if you only walk around through the park, you see all kinds of plants and wildlife.

I should start by saying we went tent, camping, and I have no idea what the cabins look like inside. The grove that this place is located in is beautiful, and the property is well-kept. The campsites are nice, and there were plenty there, even though we booked the same day. I think this place might get looked over as more of an RV campground, but the tent sites are really nice. Our site, was really small, and it worked well for us, because there was just two of us, and not too large of a tent. You would want to make sure that you get a large enough site for your stuff if you have a lot of gear, more people or additional tents. Our site was also kind of close to another site, but there were trees in between us, so it worked out just fine. There was a trail right by our site, and there wasn’t a lot of privacy as people were walking by often to go to the bathrooms and services. The bathrooms were very nice. Each bathroom had a shower in it that cost $.50 for five minutes, very affordable. If you’re tent camping, take note that skunks and raccoons are plentiful in the park, and they are not afraid of people. They will wait until things quiet down at night and get into anything that even touched food. Put everything away at night if you don’t want to deal with a mess in the morning. Take it from me, I put everything away, except my garbage bag and table cloth, and garbage was everywhere. There were cute, little, muddy paw prints all over my tablecloth too.Nearby activities: Sue-Meg state park, Trinidad town, shopping, dining, nice beaches, hiking, redwoodsWalkability: There are lots of trails and it’s pretty close to downtown Trinidad, maybe a mile away. Lots of beaches and parks to check out nearby.Noteworthy details: Clean bathrooms with running water, nice tent sites, pretty campground, privacy

Cute little cabins in the woods. Convenient location, and very lovely setup. We weren't expecting a lot, but we were in for a surprise. We reached quite late, and had called ahead of time. The staff was super friendly and left our key/ registration form in a envelop by the front desk. The cabin was clean, and had all the necessary toiletries available to us. Overall a great experience. For us it was a little warm in the evening, but there was no A/C option. The thermostat is only for the heater in the cabin, but we quickly realized why there's no A/C in the unit. We kept the windows open before going to sleep, and soon enough, it was Arctic in the room.We were planning to leave super early, but chose to stay till 9am, did a little walk around the cabins. Its a beautiful setup.Silly confusion, our cabin was #F, but there was no label on the cabin. Instead it said Trina's Cabin. It took us a few drive-bys and taking our chances to swipe the key, to realize it was indeed our cabin.Would def visit again and recommend to others.Safety: The area seemed pretty safe, and they have all sorts of setup for families/ couples/ camping/ RV.Food & drinks: Not much around the cabins, but the town of Trinidad is just 5 mins, and plenty of options there. Beautiful town btw.

This is one of those reviews I hesitate to post as it's such a nice place to stay, it's like our little secret. Second stay here in a cabin. The first time was in the smaller 'numbered' cabins. Very nice, but SMALL. This last visit we stayed in a larger 'lettered' unit with a kitchen and back porch. Drinking coffee in the morning in the woods on your back porch. It really doesn't get any better. The cabins are basic, rustic and comfortable. The Internet is good. TV..no local channels but they have ROKU TV's and a lot of streaming channels are signed in, probably by previous guests. Long time visitor to the area and will stay again at The Emerald Forest.

We absolutely LOVED the setting at Emerald Forest! The cabin was very clean and comfortable. Our microwave didn't work properly, nor did the coffee maker work (the Keurig did though), and the back porch light was burned out. In spite of those minor setbacks, the place was FANTASTIC! We will definitely come back when we are next in this area and will recommend it to others.

This place was excellent…the cabin I stayed in was fantastic! It had a back balcony overlooking a beautiful fern lined dry creek bed surrounded by redwood trees! The outside front was so peaceful..with redwoods, play areas, picnic areas and just places to walk. I spied a hiking trail as well. The room…clean, perfect. The restaurant recommended ….. excellent. Close access to the beach and hiking as well! Finally, the personable and friendly staff … unbeatable. I would definitely recommend and will put this on my list of places to revisit.Oh yeah…if you’re traveling with kids/family…this place is where to be!

Excellent Location! Easy in/out and wonderful access to wooded beach trails.Service is strictly by the rules. Nice people but void of compassion when appropriate.Tent camping is amazing. Cabins are adorable. RV spaces are adequate with no privacy. Nicely wooded area with RV's in tight quarters; aprx 10' between rigs.Restrooms are adequate; took two cold showers until we found the one shower with hot water.

Absolutely beautiful. A huge property with many cabins and RV sites. We stayed in a cabin and had a beautiful back porch. We spent the night looking out at the trees and enjoying nature. There also was an adorable arcade area!Rooms: Cozy and cleanWalkability: We traveled with a wheelchair and the ground was pretty level and walkable

I really loved this RV park. It does have cabin rentals but I don't know the rates. Rustic place with dozens of redwoods all around. The sites are fairly close together but the scenery mitigates this. Very clean, private showers. It is coin activated- quarters. 5 minutes for .50 and $ 1 for 10 minutes. This RV park is literally a few minutes from the NP. The staff is excellent! Highly recommend this park.

Just stumbled upon this wonderful place, and snagged the last tent space available on a Friday and Saturday night! I didn't know what we were getting, I was just happy to find any available campsite. Turns out, we have these well maintained bathrooms with HOT quarter showers, horseshoes and other fun activities, a little store with all the things we forgot, an amazing beer selection for such a little store too! And I almost forgot the arcade! I think next time we will try one of the little cabins!

Close to the redwoods and beach access. Has cabins, tent camping, and RV spots. Our party tent camped and had two RV spots. We were all happy with our sites. They also have event halls that can hold smaller crowds.**Update: forgot to mention they refuse to answer the phone. I tried to call for 2 weeks to cancel the reservation and tried sending emails and NEVER heard back, so we ended up just going. When you book just know, there is *NO cancelling* once you book, it's written in stone.Nearby activities: Redwoods, beachFood & drinks: No food and drink for sale.

Beautiful place, very clean and well kept. It had fantastic showers and toilets that were spotless. Staff were really friendly and the small shop inside the camp was a great touch. The missing star is for the laundry facilities. The website advertises that they have them - but upon arrival the laundry hut was out of order. Strangely though, the shop clerk told us they didn’t have laundry facilities at all and it’s not on their website.Other than that - it was fantastic and we loved it here very much!

My friends and I only stayed for 1 night to get away from the Bay Area for a bit. We completely enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back. It was close to all the places we wanted to see. Being able to stay here and be surrounded by the forest was amazing. Our cabin was spacious and clean. We slept so well we almost missed the check out time.

We LOVE visiting Trinidad, CA! It is one of our MOST favorite places to come stay because we live in Sparks, NV and our fam lives in Redding, CA! We have camped here before but we have never stayed in a cabin! There was 8 of us that stayed in Cabin D and it was absolutely perfect for us! Very friendly friendly service and night security guard was so nice, as well! Kid & Pet friendly! BBQ's to use in different areas by cabin. Fish cleaning station was very convenient for my hubby after his charter boat out of Trinidad pier. We will definitely stay here again and thank you for everything! You guys are truly amazing and you have a very beautiful getaway for all to enjoy! We loved it! ❤️

RV park, tent sites and cabins. I had an RV site. They are much closer together, unlike the photos on here. Hwy 101 is just on the other side of the wall so a lot of road noise. Very close to ocean with high humidity (cold/wet 60F in July). Lots of car doors and bathroom doors slamming all night.Price is higher than expected, considering. The store up front was nice and had a decent basic selection of snacks. Propane refill available for a premium.

There is a dude that works here in a green shirt next to the bathrooms and I am a paying customer for emerald forest and every day when I went to use the restroom this man has had a bad attitude and treated me like I don’t belong there and stared me down funny , even though i am a paying customer so if you wanna come stay here I wouldn’t recommend unless they get rid of this worker because honestly he is very unprofessional and needs to get his job taken from him I have no idea how they could hire someone like that . He is usually in a green shirt , pretty heavy set, wears a hat and he is the “handyman” I don’t think somebody like this should be representing emerald forest unless they want to lose customers . Nothing to say about the other workers as they know how to treat people with respect.

Customer service was good we got to borrow an extension cord to air our mattress up. The store stays open late, and there is propane and ice on site. Location is good too short drive to Trinidad and Patrick’s point SP. the bathrooms were dirty and trash was overflowing every time I went in the bathroom. Also the two bath houses were located near the rv sites and quite a distance from tent campers who needed them. Our site was called ‘intimate’ on the reservations website it was not we had absolutely zero privacy. The dishwashing station is also located near the rv sites which was not convenient. Also our site had no where to park except at fish cleaning station where locals parked to clean their fish. Also the resident employees in rvs came in and out all the time at all times of night.
