Despite living in Hollister for nearly six years, this was our first experience with the Inn at Tres Pinos. I am just sad that we didn't go sooner! We enjoyed a cozy table for four with our neighbors. In addition to the great food, service, and atmosphere, we really had a good time visiting with one another. The time sure passed quickly! The Inn at Tres Pinos is about 10 or so minutes south of Hollister on Hwy 25. Tres Pinos is very small. What is the saying? If you blink, you'll miss it? Anyway, very refreshing to find a local, high-end restaurant where one would least expect. Area locals rave about this restaurant, and we found out why!We started off with drinks (cocktails and wine) followed by two appetizers: one that was on the menu, Grilled Italian Sausage, and an appetizer on special, Risotto with a Grilled Tiger Prawn. The Grilled Italian Sausage was perfect atop a whole grain mustard cream with roasted red peppers. The Risotto and Tiger Prawn was equally as delicious (I forgot to get pics of each). I enjoyed a cup of New England Clam Chowder, and my neighbor enjoyed an Iceberg Lettuce Wedge with house vinaigrette. My neighbor and I ordered the special Double-Bone-In Pork Chop atop Garlic Mashed Potatoes. All of this was topped with a sunny side up duck egg. The duck egg was a wonderful touch and delicious. By far, the best pork chop I've ever had. Very moist and tender, I was sad when it was gone! My wife ordered the Grilled Filet of Wild Salmon on a bed of Garlic Mashed Potatoes and my neighbor's wife ordered the Filet Mignon atop wild rice.We topped off our meals with shared Creme Brulee for each couple. Perfect cap to a perfect meal. Our server was attentive but not obtrusive. Just the right mix of service. The restaurant ambience was rustic, cozy, and intimate. We really enjoyed the experience. The food was fantastic and very nicely presented, our company was wonderful, and we will definitely be visiting again soon. Parking is "wherever you can find". Be careful crossing Hwy 25 if you park across the street. Reservations are best. Next time, I'll try the Chicken Genovese. Highly recommended!!

First time here and it was great! The service was top notch & our waiter, David, was really sweet. Got drinks, salad, entrees, and dessert, all were absolutely delicious! I love the plating & everything were seasoned perfectly. Will be back again. Highly recommended.Parking: Really narrow parking lot

We had to chance to stay as a Harvest Host member in the back of the restaurant in our travel trailer. The young lady who met me when we arrived was awesome! She showed us where to park and said if we needed anything let her know. We had an early dinner reservation and the service was excellent! The food was a bit underwhelming in my opinion. I did see the jalapeno popper on the appetizer menu and that looked great as it passed our table about 6 times! A Moscow Mule for $15 in a small cup that really wasn't very good seems very overpriced to me. I still give it 4 stars cause the staff is outstanding!

This was our second time dining here in probably 8 years. We recently received a gift card and figured we'd give it another try.We initially planned on ordering take out but found out they only had dine in. The day we wanted to go, there was no available seating until 730. We made a reservation for the following week on Open Table. We were seated right away when we got there. The interior has not changed since we visited 8 years ago. The service was quick and our waiter was friendly and attentive. We ordered the appitizer special which was seared filet tips with pappardelle and a mushroom cream sauce, the chicken genovese, the dinner special which was the short ribs with a blue cheese polenta. All of the dishes were delicious! We should have came back sooner! For dessert we ordered the granny smith apple crisp and chocolate mousse. Both desserts were delicious as well. Overall we were pleasantly surprised with how good the food was. We will be coming back, especially when it is short rib night.

We absolutely loved this place! Each table had its own little fireplace and it just made the ambiance wonderful! Very kind and friendly staff. The meal was amazing! We had baked brie with cranberry chutney that was super delicious, a whole roasted chicken with vegetables, the best we've ever had! The salmon with leeks was also superb.

A great little tiny spot in the middle of nowhere, but for locals in the know, this place is the best in the area. It's a true local gem.Really innovative fresh-tasting cuisine offered up here that includes all the classics done really really well. Fresh ingredients, mostly locally sourced, are very much a part of every dish. If you lived nearby, this place would be hard not to stop every night. They are known for their calamari and lamb chops... both were exceptional.Their outside dining space is perfect right now, and their service was really on point too.

The staff was absolutely lovely, drinks tasty, and really nice outdoor areaThe poor review is targeted directly at Mike Howard. Please have some vegan options. Simply adding a vegan protein and non chicken broth would really open up the menu and make it more inclusive to ethical eating

Just outside Hollister CA sits The Inn at Tres Pinos. I/We had the pleasure of dinning there one early October, 2018 with our Grandy. First impressions from the gravel parking area adjacent to the "Inn" was a roadside bar/restaurant in an older single story wood structure. Once through the doorway a dark "Woody" foyer greets you with a feeling as though you stepped back into a bygone era of the mid twentieth century or earlier? (See pics). Rustic old West ambiance frames some more modern memorabilia of famous past patrons. Not seen but apparently there is outdoor seating on their patio which can be viewed in some "stock" pictures and does appear to be an aesthetically pleasing option. We dined in the main dinnng area which was pleasant enough and not overly crowded. The dinner (Tuesday 5pm) included to start, the sauteed calamari, mixed green salad, ceasar salad, main course: veal saltimbocca,. (split), farfalle del Mar, and for dessert, their bread pudding. The sauteed calamari was prepared in a wet red diced tomato sauce and the calamari itself was lightly breaded. This style (offering) was the best calamari I have eaten in a while. The taste of the sauce and the calamari was complementary and zesty while still maintaining firmness. The salads were fresh, tasty, and my ceasar was tangy and not over saturated with dressing; the sardines ordered as a topping perfectly complemented the experience. The homemade croutons provided some appealing texture. The farfalle del Mar was served hot, was a delicate combination of seafood as described on their menu. Not fishy, but fresh and light with the pasta well prepared and seasoned with the fresh ingredients. The split order of the saltimbocca was not tasted by the reviewer, although Grandy and other family member expressed their satisfaction by finishing their meals. The bread pudding I must say was some of the best! Firm texture/heavy with tones of spice and vanilla topped with ice cream, fresh berries and dried cranberries and Carmel drizzle. The Inn at Tres Pinos provided a very good/excellent dinning experience by combining a rustically pleasing ambiance, high quality food and very good value, and very good service (John.). If you're in the area or close, this would be your safest "bet" for a great dinner. The overall rating is in the range of (4.4-4.7) stars. Enjoy!

Wonderful food, funky ambiance. Clientele were a mixture of cowboys, and well dressed diners. Small menu with beef, pork, seafood and a few vegetarian items. I enjoyed their Cesar salad and vegetarian pasta which were both delicious. My companion enjoyed an oyster starter, and swordfish in a beurre blanc sauce which was very good. We were seated outside in an area that had us costantly chasing the sun, battling thewind and flames from a firepit table. The adjacent area was a dirt parking lot and view of nearby "shack" with lots of ferel cats. At one point a pickup truck came roaring through the parking lot dusting out the outside diners us included. When the guy got out of his truck, someone mentioned to him about the incident, and he said " I'm sorry you didn't like that." No apology. It was later discovered that the driver of the pickup was in fact the owner.

Every time my family & I come here, it’s a great experience. The food is delicious and the service is even better! The staff is welcoming and sweet and attentive. We keep bringing our friends and other family members here and they never disappoint. Last time I got the New York steak medium rare with the mashed potatoes and roasted vegetables and I cleaned my plate entirely! Such a gem of a restaurant!

It was definitely not fine dining. The food was tasty. The service, bless her heart. She tried but lacked experience and was older so should have had some. A 200.00 dinner it was not. I had the veal it was fabulous.Hubby had rack of lamb it was good. We didn't get what we ordered for salad, but luckily what she decided we were gonna have was tasty too, just had to pick a few things out. Had creme brulee, and chocolate mouse for dessert that was really pudding. Nothing light and airy about it. The wine was delicious, we had the decoy after the other two we picked out were unavailable. They wrote on our plate happy anniversary which was very sweet. We for the price, we will keep searching...

We were in the nearby Pinnacles National Park and happened to chance upon this place. There were 5 of us and each one absolutely loved the meal. The salmon was tender and perfectly cooked. The accompanying garlic butter sauce was lip smacking. The prawns Provençal, the duck, and vegetarian plates all were incredible. The dessert was freshly made. The service and ambience was cozy and welcoming. We’d happily drive down again to savor the experience.Vegetarian options: Very good. The risotto is fantastic. The vegetarian pasta was well cooked. Would happily go back.

It is a lovely restaurant in the middle of nowhere. :) We went here for dinner on a Saturday night. They were full, in order to get a table inside or outside, we should have waited an hour. We opted to eat at one of the barrel tables at the bar.The food was excellent. The service was alright. The barrel tables at the bar are not the most comfortable to eat at. They're great for your drinks, but the chairs are high, the table is too high compared to the chair, so to eat, you need to hunch. If you can wait for a table or make a reservation in advance, I highly recommend sitting outside. The tables have a built in heater (a little fire in the middle of your table, which is also quite romantic and cozy.

On Dec 23rd Food and presentation was great! Thomas was very goodThe place was beautifully decorated it was a special occasion..we were 5 people ...never ever...allow them to seat you by the door to the patio dining! 15 trips by waiters and customers came + went . It would have been more if we didn't complain People born in a barn leaving the door open.etc Honestly the dining experience was seriously damaged by this. Why didn't I move ? I was told all the other tables were reserved! I guess I'll may have to go to Gilroy for fine dining...

Fantastic service, fantastic food well prepared and well presented. We sat out back, the tables have built-in fire rings which mostly work with only the occasional breeze blowing the heat full-on at one guest. We will certainly be back to see more of the seating options and experience more of the food.Only wish would be for some gluten free options.
