Contacted Shedskin Reptiles for a birthday party, and were super impressed! The staff are great, they brought a huge selection of reptiles and snakes for the guests, explained a lot about each species, answered questions and allowed everyone to touch and take pictures. Very knowledgeable and the kids loved them as well - highly recommended! Thanks so much for a great birthday

Bought 3 snakes from this guy, no problems and he won't sell to just anyone. His rule you don't know about the animal either he'll educate you on the proper care or he won't sell it to you. Animals have always been healthy that I got from him and he's great about the follow up if there's a problem.

Most animals are not taken care of correctly. Wrong substrates, wrong heating all the lightbulbs are all just exposed very prone to burning the reptiles, very small cages for the big monitors and tegus with no enrichment whatsoever, many of the reptiles are kept together causing them to be very stressed out and it’s obviously visible to see. Some reptiles there are very sick as well and still being sold. And not to mention the guy in there didn’t even bat and eye at us coming in and didn’t care to say one word or ask if I needed anything. Definitely a very underwhelming store and experience.

Highly recommend these guys for birthday parties .. All the kids at my daughter’s 9th birthday had so much fun with the reptile show …. Not only kids it was thrilling for the adults as well …..

Jeff is always knowledgeable and makes sure you have a good understanding of any animal you might wanna buy and never tries to upsell unnecessary accessories. He also provides pet sitting which is great since finding someone to care for reptiles if u ever go on a trip can be hard. Great store to visit for education and first time owners and a great resource for veteran reptile owners!

This guy is like the only multi reptile store in the area and he also has live food for your reptile so it's pretty convenient right downtown and the owner is very nice and welcoming.

Amazing and very knowledgeable! They really know their reptiles! I can ask anything and they never look or talk to me as if I am stupid! I love that they teach you all you need to know before you get a pet from them! They are awesome! All reptiles are well kept! ❤️

Jeff is great.. he helped my kids 11 and 7 to pick out the best reptile for their first pet according to experience and personality. Most people don't take the time to know their customers like he does. Based on my kids commitment and personality, they decided on a crested gecko.. awesome pet.. thanks jeff

What can I say, I just but feeders there. What I can say is dude seems cool, and the bird's seemed to like me. They quitted down, after I talked to them. The feeder mice have given my roommate's snake, better leash on life. Because they are NOT garbage in breeds, you normally buy at the regular pet store. Got some good looking merchandise in his shop, and I have only heard good things about the merchandise.That's all I know...

Well...im not much of a reptile kinda human, however Shedskin Reptiles is one of those shops to check out. Just walking through the door allows the senses all there is about having your own reptile.The main guy there can answer any question and I believe he would do his best to match you up with one of his darlings.

I go here to get worms for my chameleon. I enjoy going here but the owner is not very friendly, and this is everytime I go there. He makes me feel intimidated to ask any questions,but when I do ask a question he makes me feel as if I'm dumb for asking. I'm not the only person he has made feel this way, anyways the store, it self, is really cool.

Love the knowledge that the people have about reptile care. However, if you’re going to keep parrots behind the counter that scream constantly (I understand that I have macaws) you should at least let them be handled or come out of the cage or something. Even for just a little bit. While I was admiring the birds from afar, the guy looked over to me and said “They’re not for sale” in a very grumpy tone. Love the reptile part. Bird part? Not so much.

Cool place. Owner is cool and really knowledgeable. My kids got to hold a snake and bearded dragon. Took home 2 pythons. Our vet checked them out and said they look good and healthy. We went in for a python and a redtail boa for my husband but they didn't have anymore redtails. Thats the only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5. If your looking for a reptile this place is definitely worth checking out. They also had feeders and price was a lot cheaper then PetSmart.

I took my two boys there the other day to look for and get info on geckos and bearded dragons. The first thing I did not like was the way I was greeted by the owner. You never ask a customer, WHAT DO U WANT, you always say, Hi how may I help u today. I know that day they were in the middle of moving to there 3rd locating in town and I hope it is better than the last two places’s Thay have been in. And when you move a Business you should be closed. One of his employees was very knowledgeable about there Products, but when you help customers you DO NOT! Have on a shirt that said, I HATE PEOPLE, with a upside down cross on it. That right there made me decide not to do Business with them. That is a sign of a bad owne. You could hardly breathe in there because of the unhealthy conditions. I feel sorry for the animals in there. Cages were way to small for the size of the reptiles. I can’t believe that animal control has not shut them down and that the city of Tracy even gave them a business permit. That is one ghetto business. You guys should learn about customer service because u have none. If you are looking for a Quality pet shop go to Andy’s pets in San Jose.

Jeff the owner is helpful and the shop has a wide variety of reptiles. I visit the shop weekly to purchase food for my juvenile king snake, and Shedskin reliably has the live food in stock.

I love Shedskin reptiles . The owner of the store is so helpful with information . I am new to the reptile world and another pet store was not so helpful. Now I am always going to Shedskins for everything for my bearded dragon. Thanks guys. The rest of the staff is wonderfully helpful too.

Tucked away in what was once an outlet mall is Shedskin. It's slightly dingy and neither looks nor smells clean. The selection is very good, with an interesting mix. Though more than a few of the reptiles looked sickly. What earns the shop a two star however is the condescending and vaguely racist owner. Don't assume because someone doesn't look like they know about reptiles, that they haven't owned them for years. If you are a racist and own a business, maybe try to keep all of the tell tale signs not so much in the forefront. If you want sickly, overpriced reptiles you'd be better off at Petco ( which the owner hates.)

The owner is very rude, and as far as the monitor lizard care goes is sub par. They are kept in cages way too small for their body and minds and the water monitor wasn't even given a water dish big enough to soak in let alone swim. Would not recommend

My 21 year old daughter decided she wanted a snake.i called a few places then i found jeff.i told him i would like her to talk to someone first before she jumped off the edge.jeff said sure bring her by and I'll talk to her.we stopped by later and jeff covered all the bases.he showed her how to do a live feeding.great guy and very knowledgeable.my kid placed her order...thanks jeff.looking forward to getting a rhino iguana for me and son.great place.
