Ordered Philly cheesesteak and it was good! Long wait for your order so best to call ahead. But you get it hot and fresh! They also have cookies, chips and Strauss ice cream. Very friendly staff. Outdoor seating. Pet friendly.

Great local spot too grab a cup of coffee, a slice of pie, and a tasty sandwich or two, at a reasonable price. It's family owned and operated much like many of the businesses in Marin county. Mr & Mrs Ramirez were great. I felt welcomed and the conversation felt like seeing an old friend.

We came here for some sandwiches, and checked their website ahead of time to make sure there were vegan options. The website lists a vegan burger, but the guy at the counter said their veggie burger has cheese. The area is remote, so it's good to have accurate info online so we can choose appropriately!

We were passing through and stopped in Tomales last week for breakfast ... got the most delicious veggie/cheese/avocado omelets and fresh, crispy brown hash browns - best I've had in a long time at the Tomales deli + cafe. What a terrific chef! He wears a mask. Every customer wore a mask and kept a distance. Nice little patio table. Perfect!

My review is only for the cookies. I stopped in for bread but then one of the customers told me that the bakery was not part of the sandwich shop that I had entered. What's more, he said, the guy who bought the bakery was trying to run the sandwich shop out of business and so in solidarity I bought four cookies .The cookies were amazing and when I gave some to my friends I asked them how much they thought the cookies cost. Everyone said at least five dollars. Shockingly, the shop only charged $3.50 per cookie and they were super huge! Raise the price on thesescrumptious beasts! Who knows, the shop may just generate enough income to put that bakery owner to shame.

Awesome Ruben! although I don't do thousand island dressing, if it's not Russian I go with mustard. Good portions great bread. Nice Philly too super fresh veggies super stretchy cheese and well seasoned steak. Perfect place to pick up a sandwich before heading down to the beach or going clamming/fishing.

Best deli on Hwy 1. Everyone I have referred this deli to has been beyond addicted to the locally sourced, fresh food, the incredible owners and staff and their always charming children. I ride horses on all the Sonoma Marin trails and everyone w/every horse group covets the sandwiches I stop to buy there to buy. It's a demonstration of the power of community.

Great (and delicious) sandwich selection. A good place to stop for a quick bite on the Highway 1 trek, and we were especially glad we had stopped here because many of the places along the way including nearly all the food options in next town north Valley Ford, were not open on Tuesday.

I was in town for a film shoot, and the director, who had previously shot here, recommended we grab lunch here. Just wow! This place is absolutely fantastic! Had their pastrami sandwich and was pleasantly surprised by the excellence of the quality of the food.A few things to keep in mind:1. They only take cash. That's important. Their sandwiches are $6 and extras can add up to $3. No tax.2. The flies in this place can be a little off-putting, but rest assured that the food is clean and healthy. No problems afterwards!3. This place is pretty busy, so get there before the rush!

Very good! Had the Roasted Lamb Sandwich. Wife had nini's sandwich (shredded beef) VERY good sandwiches!! The place is a quaint, hometown kinda place. Kids came in after school buying drinks and bakery items. Lots of fun. Good place to stop for a quick sandwich! Definitely recommend!

I did not have high expectations here, it was just a convenient lunch stop after our glamping weekend. Really glad we stopped for sandwiches to go. One of the better sandwiches I've had. Wish we had this place in Sacramento. 4 different sandwiches and they were all fantastic. A bit on the small side so order a side.

We take our dogs to run at Dillon Beach when there is a good low tide. Afterwards we grab something to eat at Tomales Deli. Carlos and now his son C.J always give us a friendly welcome and rustle up some good food. Today it was lattes and breakfast sandwiches. If we're there lunchtime, we tend to go for the hot pulled roast lamb sandwich with onion, peppers and horseradish sauce. Absolutely delicious. I can't think of anywhere that serves a sandwich as good as this.

Pleasant owners, helpful with directions for a gas station when I ran out. They carry a large variety of old-fashioned specialty Brew sodapops. They have a small Deli counter with pretty standard picnic fare. They're the only grocery in town so it's pretty convenient to be able to stop there on your way out to the beaches.

The french toast tasted great, but was a bit soggy in the middle, the eggs were fried perfectly, the bacon was terribly overdone (thin and crispy, not my fave), and the hash browns were greasy tablets like at McDonald's (ewww). Decent coffee. The couch inside looks as if it hasn't been cleaned in its lifetime (crumbs all over one cushion). Cash only, but there's an ATM inside where you can pay a fee to pay for your breakfast. Not super impressed.

Super great food. Love the people operating this place. They were very helpful and I had a tomato basil sandwich thing. I wish I could remember what it was called. I was so full but couldn't eat it all. Perfect place for lunch. And a fab cookie.

The carnitas sandwich was one of the tastiest sandwiches I’ve ever eaten! Awesome flavor - I’d definitely return for that! And the staff is friendly and seem to genuinely care about the people who come in.

I never liked the food there. And the place feels dirty over priced. The Bakery next door is a 5 star Family owned best sweets youwill ever find. The cinnamon twists are a must try .

My wife and I were looking for a new beach to explore and happened upon Tomales deli + cafe. It was mostly a bathroom break by plan. Though, there wasn't much for food along the way to where we were going so we started looking at the menu. This deli has Mexican flare in its colorful decor and menu. Out of sheer curiosity I ordered the Carnitas sandwich. I rarely order this at taquerias but I wondered what a pit stop carnitas fare would be like. It's my kind of combination of adventurous and reckless. The pay off was substantial. Not only was the meat flavorful, but the bread and salsa held their own too. We wished we had ordered something else, but we were miles out by then. This is the kind of food I'd expect in SoCal's trending alternative takes on Mexican. It has a mom and pop charm with a friendly staff. Have an open mind and try something new. Chances are it will pay off for you too.
