Been here many times to pick up meal worms for our black emperor and always enjoy gazing upon all the beautiful creatures.Then, over the holidays, my daughter and i went back in to look for a corn snake and we quickly got sucked in to considering other snakes...not by pressure but because there were so many to choose from. All healthy and so beautifulAfter much time, help & education with zero pressure, my daughter wanted to deliberate for a bit but we quickly returned for the beautiful baby snow morph she first handled and everything we needed to set up his home.Thank you Painted Reptile!

i was boarding my two white's tree frogs here starting 8/17 and on monday 8/21 they called to tell me that they had accidentally sold them. they're saying now they think that they were stolen. i'm really not sure what's going on & my texts are just straight up being ignored now. i just want my babies back.if you or anybody you know got a couple white's tree frogs between those days PLEASE let me know, i've had them for years and i'm devastated.happy to take this review down if/when they're returned to me but for now please keep this in mind!!

Boarded my bearded dragon for 2 weeks while I was out of the country for the holidays. They took great care of him and he looks just as healthy as I left him. Friendly staff that seem to know their business! My only downside would be that I wasn’t allowed to see his enclosure before leaving him there or after. So I still have no clue what kind of environment he was in truly.

Wonderful store. I bought my grandson a bearded dragon from here. The staff is very knowledgable and friendly. They allow you to take your time and make educated decisions. Their prices are competitive and they have a broad selection. Loved working with them!

I’ve tried this place twice. I have 6 snakes and 6 tarantulas to feed. Both times I have gone there it seems the man who works there has had a bad lunch or hasn’t gone to lunch or is angry for some reason. Today I showed up and had to wait for several minutes as he rudely told me to give him a minute. Every time I ask for rodent feeders I want to buy he is very aggressive and short and almost like he has no kindness to his customers. I am unhappy because this is the closest reptile store near me and I don’t feel welcome when I come shop there. He definitely scared a good customer away for good.

Very knowledgeable and helpful staff. Super friendly and great prices on feeder mice(i get frozen/thawed) especially compared to big name chains. I love looking through the stuff they've got, from products to reptiles. Been coming here for a year for my corn snake's meals.They even have snake sheds available for people that use them.

Guys this is worth it. And a very helpful a nice selection of reptiles here feeder mice for those of us that need them. It is a little hard to find but I'll tell you how to do it. After Tarzana Medical Center and the rehab station you're going to see a couple driveways that are commercial looking you turn in one of those and you go all the way to the back and the painted reptile is in the back. Now I took the second one so I made a left to get to it but if you make the first one and you make a right and all it has is a sign about the size of a for sale sign on a house that says the painted reptile and in the unit number. The people there are very helpful and patient and I was very pleased with my visit. I got two Hoppers for my king snake and I was only like $3 in change so a very reasonable as well. But this is the place to go for your reptile needs on this side of the valley or that side of the valley. And the ride there was nice I just want a Burbank on next to the parks there and it was really a nice ride but it's really on Oxnard just passed Reseda West of Reseda and then you'll pass the Tarzana Medical Center and then the rehab center in the medical center and then you'll see some commercial stuff and you make a left right there and it's all the way to the back. They go check them out they got some nice looking reptiles.

Wow! Amazing prices...As a matter of fact, they're the lowest I've seen in SoCal, and I've shopped in 4 counties. Jerry was in the store my first visit. He was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Both of those things are important to me. It's a bit hard to find but well worth the search. Just enter on south side of Oxnard and keep going all the way down the driveway to the back parking lot. This is DEFINITELY my new go-to store for my meeting the needs of my Savannah monitor.

They sell peoples pets that they are boarding under paid services. Do not board your pets here, and if you do, have a long legal contract so you can sue if they sell your pets like they do to other people

I am very pleased with my experience! I went looking for insect feeders for my beardie. I am a new reptile owner so I am not all that knowledgeable on which bugs are good for my little guy. The man working was friendly, gracious and kind, very helpful and willing to answer any questions I had on their care. I had no idea what I was doing but all I knew was that I needed bugs and he helped me figure out my best options. The feeders were plump and very healthy looking. My beardie gobbled them up instantly.The store itself doesnt look like much at first. But you can walk further in to see the animals. Some are for sales, others are not as I understand that they do parties and have them for educational purposes. The animals that were for sale seemed to ge happy and healthy. They also had a cool selection of supplies in an organized fashion. All in all, a great little store and I am happy to support a small business. I never would have thought I would have such a fun time buying bugs! I think I will be returning!

I purchased a tortoise for my daughter and she absolutely loves it. The staff at painted reptile are really helpful and they have so many products you're in reptile heaven. we will definitely keep coming back for more supplies and possibly a tortoise friend

Today I found a baby lizard stuck in a spider web in my backyard. It was so tiny it must have just recently hatched. I tried my best to extract the web from its body and tiny claws, but couldn’t finish it. I called the store and they said they could help. They handled the little lizard with care and removed all of the web off of him. It warmed my heart that they even cared about a common wild lizard. I was worried no one would want to help. I named the little guy Webster and released him back into the wild. If I ever get a domesticated reptile, I will be sure to come back to the Painted Reptile! Thanks again for all your help!

Sent my friend here who doesn't speak good English because they seemed reputable. They posted online that their crested geckos were 69.99, then they charged 115 per gecko. When we called to complain and ask for the difference back, first they said my friend's English was fine enough she should have known they were overcharging, and that the price they charged was a discount. Again, I said the online price was 69.99 so they said bring them in for a refund because they aren't responsible for their website. Their own website. So we brought them back and they demanded a 60 dollar restock fee, which they don't have anywhere as posted policy. They then said they don't legally have to post any policy. They said it was because it covers the cost of the shipping since they get their geckos from a wholesaler. We pointed out that they told my friend when she bought the two geckos that they were bred onsite and showed her a gecko they claimed was the mother. The employee who made that claim refused to talk to me. They wouldn't give us the owner's name or let us talk to him, and when I told him to look me in the eye when he was speaking to me he took his face mask off to get in my face. During Covid. Then he told me to leave so they could help real customers and if I didn't like it to get a lawyer

I come here literally every week. The people who work there are awesome. Amazing pets, amazing environment. I've bought maybe 6 animals from there. They are better than Petco and all the other big name pet companies when it comes to reptiles and reptile products as well.

This place is nice i have been there 3 times already staff is cool and they have good items to buy and their reptiles are cool... This is my spot from now on on buying my water dragon's food... Definitely checked them out...
