I can't say enough wonderful things about this place. It has been my primary vet for my husky for three years. And unfortunately, we've had a handful of visits. The better news is that each time my pup and I walk away happier, healthier, and cared for to the utmost extent. Their staff of technicians are about the sweetest I've ever met, you feel their love for the animals. Their veterinarians are incredibly knowledgeable, trustworthy, caring and hard at work to get your pup back to A+. They have been there for us for emergencies, wellness and one-off's. I feel like my babies are family here at Agate Bay. My most notable experience was coming home to find my dog had been attacked by another household dog… I called them just before closing in an absolute panic. They encouraged me to come and were upfront about any emergency visit fees so that I wasn’t caught off guard.When I arrived the Dr tended to both my dog and my nerves with patience and understanding. Within a few hours and some facial reconstruction my fur baby was returned to me. I’ve consistently gone back for all of my veterinary needs and have never had a bad experience. Absolutely recommend 💕

Our experience at Agate Bay Animal Hospital during our Tahoe trip: our dog had a sudden emergency, but the team at Agate Bay stepped up. They managed to fit us in that very day and their friendly staff was amazing.The care our pup received was top-notch—thorough and quick. Our kitty cat has been having health issues for a while now and our former vets solution was to euthanize her. When I took Satanica into see the vet the staff was extremely friendly and Dr. Montana said “she still has a little spunk in her, let’s do some labs before we make that decision.” It’s encouraging that this doctors first words out of her mouth were “how is she” rather than “it’s time to let her go.” We’ve found a new doctor for sure! Thank you for taking the time to get to know my four legged furry friend and giving her a second chance!

I’ve been given links to websites to further educate myself on the health and happiness of my fur babies by the doctor even though she was very clear with her advice. These websites were very informative and helpful in further explaining what the doctor had previously explained to me. Dr. Montana is honestly the first vet, in all my years of owning pets, that was more concerned about my fur babies’ happiness and well being and how “I” felt about everything. In my opinion, I truly believe she is one of the best vets I’ve ever encountered. If you’re looking for a new place to care for your fur babies… look no further! You won’t be disappointed.

I had a wonderful experience here. They are genuinely good caring thoughtful staff!!I brought my mother's dog here who had lived to be about twenty years old to be put down because her quality of life was completely gone in 2020. As it was a sad experience, they were very compassionate and helped me walk out knowing that I did the right thing.I also brought my 4 year old chiweenie, foxy in with a ear infection, they were able to help her be more comfortable almost immediately . The next morning she was right back to her normal happy self!!!I would highly recommend Agate Bay Animal Hospital for your dogs care!!!

I have taken my older dog to Dr Montana several times for different issuses. Canine vestibular disease and chronic severe itching. She properly diagnosed and treated my girl promptly and without excessive testing(which is becoming a big problem in my eyes). The staff is friendly and helpful, and the wait times have never been too long. You will usually be seen by the vet on time or very shortly thereafter.

Best in the Tahoe area! Over the years my dogs have been patients at 4 or 5 vets in the area. Far and away the best service, knowledge and staff to be found. Saved my dogs life this past year by quickly and accurately diagnosing a life threatening condition which was missed by the staff at our last vet. Went to Agate Bay because they were open for emergencies on a Saturday and have not gone back to our old vet and never will. Dr. Montana and her staff are top notch!

We have been using Agate Bay Animal Hospital for 8 years, ever since we purchased our cabin. The very first time we met Dr. Bree Montana we just loved her. She exudes a warmth for your animals immediately. There is almost always a concern when taking your pet to the vet. She is so warm and loving and the animals since that.We have watched her over the years and she is still so confident and wonderful to our girls. We drive up to Tahoe, just to board them at “All Dogs Gone Crazy” Boarding. The staff know our girls and treat them so lovingly. It’s so important to us that they feel comforted when we are away. They even put photos of our girls on their face book page so we can see what they have been up to. We all just want to feel relieved that the care they are getting is genuine.The staff all know your animals and really take good care of them.We live in Granite Bay so when it’s time to board we drive up there because they are the best. Also The hospital is at the same place so if anything does happen they will get the care they need immediately.We love them all and have great faith in them .Julie Cavaghan

Agate Bay Animal Hospital has always done a phenomenal job with my two French Bulldogs! The staff and Dr. Montana are caring and professional. They take the time to answer questions and discuss options for keeping my Frenchies in tip top shape. Dr. Montana has performed wellness exams, surgery, treated eye infections, scratched corneas, broken toenails and a variety of other issues-that’s just on my two pups! I love that they offer cold laser therapy for my older dog-it really helps with his back issues and puts a spring in his step. I feel confident in the level of care they provide!
