This is an adorable tucked away cafe that's delicious. Parking is a tight squeeze but don't let that scare you away. They have multiple people working the registers so the lines move fast! We ordered the minestrone soup, carrot cake which was not overly sweet and moist to perfection. We took the lemon cheesecake home and it was tart and well balanced with the sweetness

We came on a family trip to celebrate a special birthday and were looking for a cake. Thankfully we found their delicious sacher chocolate cake! We bought the medium one for 8 people and it was great. Lots of chocolate but not too sweet. Also moist but not too moist. I’m pretty picky about chocolate cakes and I really liked it. Plus everyone else too, it didn’t last too long. They gave us a yummy raspberry sauce that is a good contrast. It goes pretty well with mango and raspberry sorbet too. I really recommend it. You can order it the day before and they can write something on it.

The soup of the day, which was the mushroom and barley, was creamy and super flavorful. It is a perfect to warm yourself up on a cold day. The servers were good. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and had lots of baked goods, sweet pastries, and savory meals and breads. I also had a plain bagel with butter which was tasty and soft.Vegetarian options: Lots of the food is vegetarian, like the salads, bagels, and veggie sandwiches.

Amazing food and drinks. Truly amazing. But for the love of God, please sort out your defective lids. Every time I come here the lid is so low quality that it melts just slightly enough to deform from the lip of the cup and then falls off, despite having been secured firmly before, and myself and my car end up covered in my hot coffee. If your food and coffee weren't crackhead-levels of delicious I'd stop this self-defeating morning cycle.

Had excellent drip black coffee (we aren't fancy people), high quality croissants (classic plain and ham & gruyere cheese) and also obtained a Swiss confection/baked good with hazelnut and almond filling that looks scrumptious but that I haven't sank my teeth into yet. Owned by Swiss immigrants and in continuous operation since 1977, with a quaint dining area furnished with reminders of the Alps. Only wish they had a toaster oven to heat up our flaky pastries... We ended up putting them on top of the pop up toaster to at least warm them up a bit on the surface (doughy bits good but cheesy bits not as tasty gooey as I would have wished for, and putting it in the microwave would have made it soggy... sad panda!)

No words can’t describe this place. The coffee, the bread and the deserts were fabulous! The prices are magnificent compared with sizes and quality. No wonder why they have been going strong for 45 years! Keep it up!

I just wanted to thank Barbara and her entire team for always providing me with excellent service and terrific food! Now that I'm moving to Oregon, I will truly miss this place and will always have a soft spot for all their delicious pastries, salads, and sandwiches!! May you have continued success, and to me, one of the best places to eat along the North and West Shores of Lake Tahoe!!

Cozy little cafe with great selection of food and great people. The soup of the day is always a hit (on this day it was mushroom and barley). desserts and baked goods are phenomenal as well. My favorite is the chocolate cookie this breakfast gem. Also had a small store where you could purchase essentials like eggs and pasta and Lake Tahoe souvenirs. They also had plenty of candy and drinks for sale. Great fresh breads and bagels as well. The ham and cheese croissant is one of the best things there and so is the chicken pot pie. One of my favorite bakeries and overall breakfast places in Tahoe.

Go early if you want the good pastries (they always sell out!). They have AMAZING croissants! If you go on the weekend, expect to stand in line... but it's worth it!They also have a nice wine/champagne selection along with a cute gift shop type store.

This is a very popular local bakery and gourmet store. Wonderful bakery goods excellent barista made coffee drinks and tea. They have sandwiches and salads. They have an excellent wine selection. They're open from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. . If you go in the morning you'll have a wait. But it'll be worth it. They have indoor and outdoor seating. If you're visiting the area this is a good place to know because they'll have many wonderful food wine selections to eat there or take out.

Very popular stop! Many people recommended this place to us so we went to check it out. The staff was super friendly and will to answer any question.Pretty good selection of bakery items. My favorite right now was the bourbon whiskey balls. It was almost like a brownie with whiskey 🙀They also have a sit down area and a shop with items to take home and give away.

This sandwich (meatloaf on focaccia with gruyere) was so good that I ate most of it before I remembered to take a picture. Seriously one of the best sandwiches I've had in my entire life. The bread is fresh and the meatloaf is flavorful and not overly rich. Well worth the trek.

Stopped by visiting Tahoe for the first time for baked goods to accompany a homemade brunch. The shop is unassuming and the baked goods are simply arranged and not immediately remarkable. However, they are VERY delicious and well-made. Muffins are outstanding, and the English Muffins made for incredible breakfast sandwiche. Highly recommend to anyone.

This review was only for the sandwiches. If you want premade cold expensive sandwiches that taste like it’s been sitting for a while this is your place otherwise go somewhere else. And definitely not worth the $6.50 they sell it for. Would have been nice if they specified that before I ordered it. Would not come here again. Very disappointed with this place.

Today we ate Sachet tort with raspberry sauce for my birthday lunch . Like everything I've ever eaten here, it was delicious beyond description. it doesn't get better than this for a bakery. The variety is wonderful. Wish I lived next door!

"When I went for my sunset hike along the popular bike path near South Lake Tahoe, I was thinking of nature, not bakery shop of my dreams.I got there close to closing time, and without spilling the beans, you should always go to pastry shops at the end of the day :)I drooled over their selection, telling myself I just wanted a coffee. BS! I wanted a little bite of everything.I finally settled on a leek & parm puff pastry for “dinner,” black currant scone for the morning, oh, and the flat mexican wedding cookie for dessert. Plus two iced coffees to-go.The patio was perfect for the following afternoon of writing and daydreaming, both paired perfectly with my cinnamon roll ... and second and third iced coffee of the day.I will day-drool over these full pastry display cases and the crumbs they left on 108 trails of magic."

I had the combo sandwich-salad for $10. Really good portions for the price and absolutely delicious. We also had a very good coffee and a slice of coffee cake which was perfection: moist and full of flavours. Highly recommend a stop at this place.

Great baked goods and coffee. Parking is limited. Very popular. On the weekends you can find quite a wait to purchase their delights. No dogs allowed inside but water and resting zones are available for them. They bake beautiful cakes, cookies, croissants, strudel, sourdough breads and desserts. There is a specialty section for foodies. Nice indoor and outdoor seating.

A pie with Lake Tahoe on the crust... Do you need any other reason? We walked in, got 3 breakfast burritoes and 3 coffees in about a minute. The burritos seemed small for $6.00, but they were very filling and tasted so good!!

We bought this kind of bread today (don’t know the name of the bread-see the photo) and it’s very delicious. We have been to many countries and ate different kinds of bread. I can say that this is the freshest and most delicious bread. If you go to Tahoe, you should taste it! 👍👍👍
