I wanted to take a moment and recognize Lisa at the Tahoe City Safeway. She works so hard! Whether it's a nightmare tourist season or just us locals at the store she is always friendly, always has a smile on and is ready to help. She bounces from checker to checker to help, she assists the self-checkout line, she opens a lane herself it will help ease the chaos, and I'm sure so much more. She's so personable and fun-loving. I hope she'll be recognized as amazing when the new store opens for business.

I have been a customer of Safeway since I was a child and I have been shopping at this particular Safeway for almost 9 years. The staff is always inviting and helpful when needed. I’ve had a particularly memorable experience with Lisa. She has always gone above and beyond to make sure my needs are met as well as being kind, caring and compassionate to my two little girls that she has seen grow since birth. My girls and I always look forward to seeing Lisa on every shopping trip!

Self checkout works great until it doesn’t. If you ask for help, the customer service WILL YELL AT YOU “DO YOU SEE I AM BUSY HERE?” Why is she yelling at me? No idea, but it was odd and necessary. But maybe she was having a bad day. She probably needs to find a different job.

I want to give 5star to a staff named Ricky, who took my call and went looked ,checked an item. I was not expecting anyone to take calls on a new year eve. Safeway doesn't carry that item that's okay. But Thanks to the staff who helped look for it.

Friendly staff. But go before last chair or you'll be circling the parking lot and fighting crowds. With only other grocer closed 5 pressure is strong in thos singular store for the area.

It's a good store I love coming here but I really hate how early it closes wish it would close half and hour later or atleast til 11 like save mart now every time I would wanna go to safeway after work I'd have to rush or sometimes I might not even make it on time because I get out late

Great selection of groceries! Staff are friendly and nice. However the store is pretty dirty. I also noticed two staff that should of been restocking were talking and having a good time laughing for a long time.

This store is grossly understaffed. Aside from the constant long lines at check-out, the Deli (pretty much the only affordable meal option in town) is frequently closed in the middle of the day. In fact, the last three times I’ve attempted to get food there, it’s been closed with a “will return in” sign sometimes stating several hours!Furthermore, all of that food that goes unsold gets wasted and thrown out at the end of the day, per my conversation with the manager.(I took this picture at 3:30 pm)

A very large store: has lots of hot foods, cold foods, Frozen foods, fresh vegetables and fruitsgreat selection.Of really cool kitchenware stuff and gifts..They have self-checkout areas near the front door , so you don't have to wait in line if somebody's got a lot/unless you have alcohol.The staff seems friendly and nice, and if they bring something up without the discount they will give you the money back if you notice it.

Wonderful service especially Dino and Beth who make me feel better about shopping at my local grocery instead of driving the usual hour just to save money. Fastest checkout ever too. Wish there were more locally sourced items however.

I went 2 days before Christmas, my bad...the amount of rude, inconsiderate shoppers was astounding!!! That being said, I was shocked by the amount of items that were left on the shelves. The store was well stocked for the holiday and the employees were so friendly; considering most of their customers were jerks and I'm sure abusive to these poor folks who were working so hard that night. I'm not sure I could've kept my composure in your shoes. I'll definitely be back and will be more mindful of holiday schedules and last minute shoppers before I go.

This......is a fantastic Safeway. Well stocked and mostly friendly employee's. Our family prefers Safeway over almost every other supermarket. We will drive up to an extra 10 miles just to shop at Safeway. They always have a better selection and the shelves are usually well stocked.

Donna and the Male manager working 5/27/22 were really rude when I was trying to get a refund. I've never had such a hassle in my life trying to convince people to get a refund.Donna had a typical fake customer service friendly demeanor but was clearly being passive aggressive when I told her about my situation.The male manager I was directed to talk to about it acted like he couldn't care less yet didn't believe what I was telling him about the product not working, and after a lot of convincing he very reluctantly gave me the refund.Not that I expect the best people to be working in customer service roles especially in low population areas, but like I was saying it was an incredible hassle to get that refund.

The Deli department needs to improve its service. I have visited this store a few times. The employees at this department ignore the clients who are patiently waiting to be served. On June 30, 2021, me and my family came to get a sandwich. There were three employees in the kitchen doing nothing, hiding, finally a man came to help us. He was rude. We asked questions, but he ignored us. There were a few clients waiting in line to be served. The two other employees were chatting and staring at the clients (two ladies). They were rude too. I will not come back, I do not recommend it.

Its the first weekend of campgrounds being open for 2022. I went in 1st thing Saturday morning to load up. The deli sandwhich shelves were empty and Zero donuts. Going to Save Mart from now on. Do better and pay better then maybe you will have stuff ready I can buy

The lamb for grilling is well worth a visit. Took 3 trays to a BBQ party and it was a hit. So tender and fresh. Yummm.I did not see a deli staff. Checker was very friendly. It was Sunday around 4 PM and seemed two lanes open. Fruit and veggie sections were well stocked; good variety of organic options.
