The pharmacy messed up a simple prescription, would not call the service provider. Once I figured out for them how to transfer the prescription, they closed. The prescription was then stranded with them until 10am the following day. They suggested that I go to the emergency room for medication. So you can get your prescription at Safeway pharmacy in Truckee or Kings Beach (both have longer hours and actually pick up their phone) or go to the emergency room.

I’m leaving this review after trying to find the pharmacy hours and getting a giggle out of all the 1 star reviews. My experience is the following. My typical delivery prescription service was taking a while so I needed an emergency refill. I called the pharmacy with only my name, birthday, and the name of my medication and they contacted my doctor to renew and refill it. I came in early while I was already out running errands and they expedited the process to get it to me within 20 minutes. In short, kind, helpful staff.

Unfortunately, this CVS Pharmacy is suffering from lack of employees like everywhere else in the area and what that means is that it is not a reliable place to get prescriptions whatsoever. I have auto-refill and it used to work reliably. Now, they NEVER get it refilled in time. I get down to 1-2 pills and have to go in in person - wait in line, only to be told it's not ready but that they can fill it within 20-30 minutes. So then you have to come back, wait in line AGAIN (the last time I was in line another 30 min). In total it was 1.5 hour trip to get a very simple prescription that should have been ready a week earlier.I'm currently traveling so I had to ask another CVS to fill my prescription since Tahoe City didn't get it filled for me before I left. But because Tahoe CVS had it "in progress" (for 5 days), this pharmacist had to speak to someone to get it released. The CVS pharmacist here waited on the line for an HOUR trying to get through to someone! They even called the front of the CVS to get someone to physically go back to the Pharmacy and tell them to answer their phone. That didn't even work. What a nightmare.

This is the worst pharmacy I have used, we need a new one here in Tahoe City. Prescriptions take a week to be fulfilled one time after I call the staff for my prescription they tell me to go and pick up my medicine but when I get there they say it's not ready even though I came at the day and time they said without telling me when it's going to be fulfilled.This is a complete joke and clearly their goal is not the wellbeing of their clients.We need another pharmacy here.

I am speechless. Came to CVS to get the Covid vaccine after calling to confirm that they had it and they took walk ins. Arrived, waited awhile, told yes the had the vaccine but they had to get it ready and it would take 30 miniatures. After waiting over an hour and inquiring why it was taking so long, I was told I was rude and that they would not give me the vaccine! Unbelievable. Will never go here again. Went to Safeway and was in and out in minutes with a very pleasant experience.

not only the worst CVS I've ever been, but the worst pharmacy. not enough employees, those that are there aren't good at their job but above, management doesn't care. it's effectively a monopoly so they get away with terrible management. I hope Walgreens moves in and ends this CVS.

Zero stars. It’s not just a lack of employees, it’s the lack of competence of some of the ones there, especially the manager. I’m a local and I’ve run out of patience and understanding for this place. I’m off CVS altogether because of this store, I wish this place didn’t even exist, it has done more harm than good, it is a pariah. If you’re a tourist, this is where you go to be savage. I’m out.

We get it you are understaffed. So is everyone in Tahoe. Time to raise the wages and get some people up from Reno because 22 days to fill a prescription is completely unacceptable. CVS corporate needs to step it up on this location.

Pharmacist is EXTREMELY rude. I've called in a multitude of prescriptions for patients to many different pharmacies but never have I dealt with a pharmacist that was this rude, condescending, and aggressive. THE WORST EXPIREINCE IVE EVER HAD CALLING IN A PRESCIPTION.
