Everyone at Alpenglow demonstrates an uncommon commitment to service. The breadth and depth of their knowledge is unparalleled. I and several friends drive hours to patronize the shop, as they are known to have great selection and attentive service. You won't find a better place for alpine touring equipment, apparel, and good vibes.Jeff went out of his way to address an esoteric AT boot issue, consulting another shop and readily offering solutions. I'm grateful for his patience and attention to detail.

My daughter-in-law bought me an expensive pair of walking shoes in August. There were too many things I didn’t like about the shoes, so coming back two months later to see if anything could be done. I had little hope. But they took complete care to find the right pair of shoes for me. I am so thankful. Wonderful service and great store.

Alpenglow Sports is a wonderful business with great employees! I was recently scouring the internet for a Salomon ADV Skin 12 running vest. I couldn't find it in stock anywhere! Finally, someone suggested Alpenglow Sports - I checked and they had it in stock. I placed my order on their new website using PayPal. There ended up being an issue with my payment on PayPal's end. The folks at Alpenglow got in touch with me immediately via email and kept me well advised as to the issue and what they were doing to resolve it. They figured out the problem quickly and I got my vest in good time and never wondered or worried about what was going on with the process.I can't say enough good things about the customer service provided by Molly and the other folks at Alpenglow Sports. I will definitely be returning to them for future running and outdoor related purchases! Thanks for being a great shop.

This is far and above the best place to find the right gear from a back country ski trip, to a day climbing, orj ust for a great pair of running shoes. Extremely knowledgeable staff mixed with superb gear selections in a great location make this the only place in Greater Lake Tahoe I recommend to friends, family, or anyone I meet looking to go big in the great outdoors.

For outdoor gear and related clothing, this place has all the best stuff.If they don't have it, you don't need it.Pretty amazing breadth of items, all top brands and quality, across all outdoor activities.Not five stars, because it's not Scheels or REI in size or breadth, or price/value, but great store and helpful staff.They've been around for decades, for a reason. Their buyer really knows their stuff.

This is one of my favorite store in the area, and my go-to shop for all things backcountry. First I can say that Jason is an amazing bootfitter. I went to the other backcountry shops in the area to compare, and Jason was by far the best. Then I had an issue with the skins I purchased there. First they repaired them free-of-charge. Then when the repair didn't work out, Brendan, the owner, exchanged them for a new pair. Amazing!

I got a new pair of backcountry ski boots from here. I knew it was the right place when I walked in the door and saw they ONLY had backcountry ski setups on the wall. I chatted with several of the worker over the course of my time there. Everyone there was knowledgeable, friendly, and unpretentious.I came back the next day to get some boot fitting adjustments and was graciously helped to identify and fix the issues.I can't wait to come back and shop here for rock season!

Small shop, but they stock top shelf gear for outdoor enthusiasts. Nice selection of the basics for camping, trail running, cross country skiing, mountain biking, and most of what you'd be doing in the Tahoe area. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff. A true local gem of a shop. They sponsor/host all kinds of events in the area as well.

This place is awesome. The staff are really knowledgeable and helpful. I was in there on three separate occasions recently when picking their brains about skis and back country equipment. Not once did they try to really push any products or do the hard sell, which I (and probably most others find somewhat annoying). I had some great deals elsewhere, so I didn't get skis from Alpenglow, but I went ahead and had them mount the new tech bindings on them. So thankful for all their advice and helpful hints.
