There are no automated doors to go inside or come outside. One time, I had to hold the door for three customers in wheelchairs as the doors had to be held open manually by me.The customer service experience is lacking. It's not like they are getting paid well or full time hours, so I cut the store employees some slack. The manager, Robert, from the few times I've observed him, tends to be unfriendly and hostile.One time, when a customer of color was in front of me waiting in line, robert came behind the cashier and, within earshot, told her to bag the groceries and keep it on the floor and not give it to the customer, until he finished paying the order.I write this on google as I want people who care about such crudeness, not to solicit business with family dollar. There are other nearby retails stores like Dollar General, at least here in Taft.Hope everyone is managing,

Everyone was very friendly and helpful, except for the cashier who didn’t give me enough time to put in my phone number so I didn’t get the discounts from the coupons, also I brought my own bags and he charged me for a bag didn’t even ask me if I wanted an extra bag he just charged me for it

I've witnessed numerous other customers at various times, with legitimate concerns that were verbally attacked, made fun of, and humiliated by 2 different managers, and the clerks as well.Today I was on the receiving end of the most appalling, unprofessional, aggressive encounter I have ever experienced. There is no reason Family Dollar employees should put their hand up to my face, use foul language, treat me as if I was out of line to request assistance of a completely ambiguous, misleading statement of the return policy with a receipt.The energy this staff puts into bullying customers would be better served by1. Making aisles accessible to customers,With most blocked by careless stocking methods, they might find a way to reduce their unattended road blocks.2. Allow the customers to use the shopping carts, instead of pop up end caps or for trash during stocking.3. Clean up the store. Basic housekeeping skills are necessary.4. Give the contest of the store selling the most candy bars or sodas a rest. A store contest of basic customer service, and organization of products along with a company policy that actually has legal standing is important for the customer.5. Service excellence training, these managers and clerks clearly have no clue that concept is a huge part of retail.6. Family Dollar, you have an entire staff from open to close, who become belligerent, offer no conflict resolution, together they incite the highest level of escalation into aggressive actions against the customers who bring inappropriate encounters to their attention.

The customers are followed around the store like we're criminals. I'am not a thief,have never stolen anything in my life. The employees are very rude,very unprofessional,and Always standing talking to someone while there is a line of 5 or more paying customers waiting to check out. There is one employee that especially thinks they own the store,and is a know it all!! Very rude when asked where a item can be locked in the store,their response is "can't you read"? I will never step foot in this place,I'd rather pay the higher prices at Albertsons,or Riteaid. Very uncomfortable business. Maybe look into training your employees,or hire new employees who actually care about their customers. I wouldn't be surprised if this business closes due to losing customers. Not to mention there is always boxes sitting around have to step over them,and box cutters sitting out where kids can grab them.

They did not have any dog food bags over 5lbs for sale , most shelves were empty , extremely rude staff , cash register lady heard my son drop basketball and she screamed at us across the store to not bounce or we'd have to pay for it or we'd be kicked out, I paid for ball and won't be coming back, I'll be going elsewhere.

One of the managers accused my boyfriend and I of stealing a pair of 6$ eye glasses when we had 2 full baskets of food and household items. Over 200$ in groceries. Called the cops on us. My boyfriend was arrested. Searched myself, my boyfriend and my purse. Found no eye glasses on either of us or in my purse. We were told we aren't allowed in family dollar anymore. Because the lady suspected we were stealing. I Use to spend a pretty good chunk of money in family dollar. Their loss.

The store is getting much better with new management taking over, come shop and see the difference for yourself. We are customer focused and want you to see the positive changes and how great the store looks. Again NEW MANAGEMENT IS TAKING OVER

I have had one of the worst experience in my live. I'm on vacations from LA with my family planning to open a food business in a very nice and quite town taft ca, of course very happy because have a family dollar store in sush small town.. I decided to go buy some stuff for my stance in my hotel and at the moment i was opening the door at the store A lady her name is SHARON told me not to come in with my small bagpack (now there are fashion to use like purse.). I felt bad because i have to carry my wallet in my hand that's why i took my bagpack but in the cashier kept it for me , I tough maybe was a small sing at the front that i didn't see.. When I checked out looked for a sing at the front store hopping was my mistake but no,there are no signs that said NOT BAGPACK ALLOWED..that makes me feel soo bad thinking that because i look latina makes me a THIEF, I don't think is OK she discriminate people because they look , and you have to take care of this problem not to happen again or put at least a sing that said for the public not bagpack allows..Thanks in advance..hoping you take seriously the discrimination at this days..Taft, Ca, store #10375

THIS EVENING I RUSHED FROM MARICOPA, CA. TO TAFT, CA.!APPROXIMATELY 7 MILES! AND TO MY SURPRISE THE GENERAL DOLLER STORE WAS STILL OPEN ON A SUNDAY AT 8:45 PM! I WAS SO THRILLED IT WAS NOT A WASTED TRIP! NO PROBLEMS! IN AND OUT!
