I can't say enough about Carter's. This has been my one and only pet store for a handful of years now. I don't shop for products for our animals anywhere else period. The staff is always helpful and nice. They don't leave you waiting around forever like some stores. They have a wide variety of different fish in the back salt water and fresh water varieties. They have lots of beautiful and friendly birds, they have a variety of other animals like chinchillas, hamsters, guinea pigs etc. They also have snakes, turtles, frogs, chameleons and even bugs like spiders and scorpions (that section is not for me personally but everyone likes what they like no judgment here 😊) Carter's also has adoption days and vet service days I'm not too sure what days I would say to give them a call to confirm. They have been voted a few times for Best of San Joaquin and that speaks for itself. They have a wide variety of products for all animals and they even have their cute little section of fresh baked dog treats up front by the registers which no other pet store has. Keep up the great work Carter's!! 👍 👍

My cat was coughing , not eating n checked outYouTube n Google .. trying to find out what her problem.Called for a reasonable Veterinarian Clinic !!!I have not been to a pet clinic for 25 yrs n couldn't believe the outrageous Price !!My husband went online .. suggested Pet Mart for a Nose Relief.I met Angel , she has 3 cats .. talking fr Experience. Told her symptoms.. she sold me this .. gave me instructions.I gave it to Ashley .. her cough stopped .. slowly eating.Angel saved me $$$ fr going to Clinic.Thank you Angel for your expertise ☺️

I have been a Carter’s customer for over 20 years and have ALWAYS received excellent customer service (if I didn’t receive such great service, I wouldn’t have been a customer for over 20 years lol). Service is great/friendly, prices are fair, store is clean, and staff are fairly knowledgeable with a variety of things. I recently went in (twice in one week) and received excellent customer service from both Rudy and Lyndsey and would like recognize them by leaving a review. They were both very knowledgeable and answered my questions. They were patient, took the time to explain things, provided recommendations etc. I never felt rushed. Both were extremely friendly and I appreciate the excellent customer service they provided and I hope Carters appreciates them too! Thank you!

Today is the last time I will ever shop here. Used to be very friendly help but today what I noticed is uniformed people at registers dressed in red shirts, and definitly not the people I have seen there before. I have a sak bucket purse, and was told upon entering they do not allow large bags in the store. Told guy it is my purse, and need to pay. Kept saying nothing he could do about it. Suggestion was to take out and put in car or at the register, which is placing on the floor. Told him," take to car so my purse can get stolen there"? Needed to get an item that they only had except online. I was out, so no choice. One of the personnel at the register stated they had some theft. My response wrong way to go about it. You will lose customers. She just smirked, and then states I did not make you put your purse down. I stated he did, and I am not the criminal, but I was just treated as one. She was very rude..I have never seen these individuals there before. Well Petco, Petsmart or Chewy online will be a better choice than what I experienced today there.

My favorite pet store. All of my critters came from here so far. 3 Tarantulas,4 scorpions and a centipede!This store is ALWAYS: CLEAN, ORGANIZED, LOTS OF EMPLOYEES WHICH ALSO BRINGS LOTS OF HELP.THEY WILL HELP U WITH ANYTHING U NEED.THIS WHOLE STORE BRINGS GOOD VIBES.WATCH OUT FOR the vagrants. They are everywhere in this area but usually not too much at this store, but don't trust it.

Don't even bother coming to this store as a parent with a diaper bag. New policy won't let you go in the store with that security that's already accusing you of stealing. Won't be coming back . Such a shame ..

This was the saddest thing I’ve seen. I was holding back tears at this pet store. Extremely Crowded conditions. A beautiful exotic bird kept in such a small cage. The snakes are in pairs in small containers. Dirty water. The smallest pet store I’ve ever been to but yet the most animals I’ve ever seen in a pet store.

I buy a parrot here I pay I lot money. he had no tail. He told me that he would be out in a month. He is 3 months old with me. The parrot does not have a tail. ask again and she was very rude and arrogant. In the same way when I come to the store she has tried to insinuate that my children have stolen toys when I show her the invoice she says that humm okay you can go. I think it is a very bad service from the manager, she is arrogant and rude to customers. latinos

Last time I was in there I bought 2 assassin snails along with a red neon rainbow usually I don't have no complaints but they sold me two shells and no snails inside since I don't live close to stockton I had to eat the loss I was very disappointed because other times I loved this fish shop

I love the selection of pet foods, toys, medications (otc) and supplies (shampoos & products) . They have some reptiles, birds &fish. They do have pet rescue pets there. I haven't seen breeder pets but they have rescuers all the time. Thank you. To many love bugs at the pound.

This is a great store that I only recently discovered. It seems they have almost every imaginable pet! I enjoy looking at all the fish and reptiles and birds they have. And they seem to have a great selection of accessories for each, more stuff than other chain pet stores. Fair prices and they have email promos monthly which makes it even better

Very helpful young lady by the name of Lanie made the trip to the pet store easy and she was very informative on an issue my dog is having. Was able to pick up an ointment and spray here for a reasonable price. Always a good experience at Carter's 💯👍🏾

Tacky Jr.‘s enjoys the cat furniture. i save money up and get extra cat treats when the temptation tubs go on sale, it’s the best deal in town, better than Walmart or Amazon or target so I know my cat treat prices.

I found a great dog food here. My dog is older and needed something that wouldn't upset his stomach. I'd been to another place and they're foods have him diarrhea, which was worse than the previous food he was on. Then the other store recommended I feed him pumpkin to help with his stomach issues. WRONG!! He then started throwing up, on top of the diarrhea.All I wanted was to find a food for my rescued dog that helped him feel better. Thank you Carter's staff!!!I found a wonderful food that doesn't upset his stomach. He feels better and is doing great!

Carter's Pet Mart is a wonderful store. They have everything a person needs for their pet. They even have beautiful parrots who talk very much!Their employees, though, are not wonderful. When I walk into a store, whether it's for groceries, pet supplies or home goods, I always greet the employees with a "Good morning". Their employees are never friendly. They are helpful in finding what a customer is looking for but their personalities need some major work!

I went here last week and was debating whether or not I should get a betta fish. After my last betta I wanted to take a break but today I decided it was time to bring a new fish in. This pet store varies with plenty animals and foods to choose from; as far as I'm aware, they keep the animals cared for. Went here today and was excited to see which betta I would adopt, I ended up buying a halfmoon male (upon later months I hope he becomes more vibrant as that would mean he's happier!). I just felt service there sucked. Cashiers are quick but the floor service is, I have to chase a worker down. And I end up getting a person that wants to tell me the isle I've already been in versus show me where it is, I guess i caught the workers that didn't want to work just killing time until it's time to go home.
