Kind and friendly staff. They took really good care of my dog when I took her in to get her fixed. After the procedure was completed they were a little worried for her, so they asked to keep her a little longer to make sure she all good to go home. I definitely recommend them!

Great people willing to go the extra-mile for those in need, in order to spay & neuter and enjoy our pet population.

We saw this little pit /cross on Wednesday of last week, nice and friendly. We got to go see her and spend some time with her. She gives hugs. Perfect size, she will be spayed, health checked, nails trimmed, ears cleaned and microchiped. No adoption fee at all.. So happy with this dog, so happy with the process.

Definitely not the animal shelter of days of old. They have an amazing staff that know alot about all of the animals. They make sure you find a good fit for your home! I was so impressed with the little bios on all of the dogs. Brought home our baby boy and he has been just what we were looking for.

A lot of family friendly dogs are waiting to be adopted. The staff are all really nice. You can tell that they really care about the animals and want to find each one of them a nice home.If you are thinking about getting a dog or cat, consider adopting rather than buying from a pet shop. There are so many animals waiting to be rescued.

I've worked with animal rescues for over 20 years. Fostered over 50 dogs, volunteered my time at dog adoption days, and worked on fundraisers. I know how hard this work is. So I do not say this lightly. This is the most unhelpful and unorganized group I've ever come across. Their leadership seems to change every few months, and the people I've spoken to seem overwhelmed, and are either unwilling or unable to help.

I have went to these people a few times to get the voucher for my animal and been turned away. First person said I needed a proof of a dress because my ID has a PO box. The second time I brought my PGE bill to prove my address and then they said I need a proof of address from DMV. The third time I get refused because they said a registration from DMV is not a proof of address I needed to get my drivers license addresses changed. This is not right. I miss work and school to keep trying to do this and their stories change every time. They should pay me for this head ache they cause.

Great place to become a foster to kittens and cats and that would otherwise be locked in a cage, allowing their very distinct personalities to develop. Knowing you helped get these guys ready for their forever home is richly rewarding even though it hurts to let them go!It is an excellent program, an actual partnership between the shelter and fosterers, working together to keep animals out of the shelter environment, and find each one their perfect forever home!It is a time commitment, currently fostering a rambunctious litter of five, having taken in the mother a week before she delivered the healthy, loving, little brats! Should have realized they were going to be a handful when 4 of the 5 were born Tail first!!But the foster program provides the necessities including shots, worming, etc. As well as the canned and dried food, litter, et Al, which makes it almost exclusively an investment of only your time! Anyone can afford that, even if only for a little a small segment of you r day,Thanks!

It says on here the it’s a animal protection society but tell me why when I called cause I have found a hurt dog and can’t keep it they just straight up hang up on me. That’s not how you handle someone who’s trying to help a dog you don’t just hang up very bad customer service if I could leave -10 stars I would

It's sad to see so many babies waiting to get adopted but they are being well taken care of here. Clean facility, staff and officers are very curteous. I believe this is a no kill shelter.

Animals need our help more than ever now. People are not getting their pets spayed or neutered and when they have litters. They are often dumped in parking lots or on the side of the road.

I adopted the sunshine of my life a year ago. Giovanni is really a joy to me and my terminally ill husband. The shelter was very clear on process of adoption. Thanx everybody

APL is the volunteer side of the Stockton/San Joaquin County Animal Shelter. Their volunteers provide animal care, do adoptions, and make this old shelter facility much more welcoming. There are many, many deserving animals here and APL works hard to find them homes. Stockton is not a bad or unfeeling shelter and APL is a big reason why. Let APL members help you adopt your next best friend.
