I've been going to that Pep Boys location, 8888 Jamacha Blvd, Spring Valley, CA for 6 years for service & this service manager called Harold Elauria is one of the worst human beings with a very bad attitude. I made an appointment for a simple oil change couple of days ahead & the day of, when I showed up, the service manager Harold is telling me that they can't do it today & that he called me in the morning to tell me that but I never got a voicemail from him otherwise I would've rescheduled instead of showing up. He claimed that he left a voicemail & that this is not his problem that I didn't get it. I told him that this is not how you treat a loyal customer & that first of all, you should start by apologizing that you were not able to do the scheduled service & to help me reschedule it since we all have busy lives & the whole purpose of scheduling ahead is to find time that works for u. I told him he needs to work on his customer service skills & attitude, especially as a service manager. He got offended that I called him out & said he has a right to decline service. I couldn't take his bad attitude & stormed out of there before it got messy. I immediately called Pep Boys corporate & reported him & told them what happened & they told me they'll investigate & take the appropriate action against him. I ended up going to a Pep Boys in Chula Vista as a walk-in & was able to get my simple oil change & was treated with respect & dignity. If u ever go to that location when Harold is there, u will see what I'm talking about & be prepared to be disrespected & a very bad attitude. I've read some of the bad ratings here & they all are pointing to Harold & his bad attitude & for him not caring about customers & his job that he's paid to do & I'm surprised he's still employed by Pep Boys where customer service is very crucial to a company in this day and age. This is not the Pep Boys that I know; he's giving the company a bad name & I hope they'll get rid of him before he runs that location to the ground!!!

I recently visited Pep Boys at 8888 Jamacha Blvd, Spring Valley, and I was absolutely blown away by the level of service I received, especially from Brian. From the moment I walked in, Brian greeted me with a smile and was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and patient, addressing all my concerns with professionalism and expertise.Brian went above and beyond to ensure my vehicle received the care it needed, explaining the process in detail and providing transparent and fair pricing. It's rare to encounter someone so dedicated and passionate about their work. His customer service skills are top-notch, making what could have been a stressful experience, pleasant and straightforward.

I was told by Harold that he couldn’t check and replace my old worn tire with my new spare tire. I asked him to do so because I had just replaced my other tires with new ones, but he didn't bother to ask and simply told me no. I've been a customer for years and have never been treated so rudely by one of the employees. I may possibly not come back to this location.

I recently had a flat tire which needed repairing. My regular Pep Boys location took care of me in short order, even though they had a busy day with all bays full. I was so appreciative of the extra effort the manager made to get me on my way. Great service!

Excellent customer service from Harold in Spring Valley. Mechanics did a great job putting in new power steering pump since the refurbished one didn't work out. Harold thanked us for being patient. Radiator flush done. Had to come back and forth a few times but for inconvenience was given free oil change for next visit. Brought Van in Saturday, fixed by Monday when new part came in that was ordered. Thanks team Pep boys!

I'm a return customer only because of my last pleasant experience in the office at Spring Valley PEPBOY location and today i made appointment for 10am for oil change and was confronted with very unpleasant person at the counter. Very rude attitude and absolutely unprofessional with zero customer service. No wonder they are no cars & no workers at work. I would expect little better customer service from the chain auto service company . and when i ask name of that person he flat out burst with very unpleasant comments I really don't believe it this happening in America Massage to PEPBOY CO. you should fire that kind of workers immediately if wanna have return customers .

Hello! Have gone to them twice before and they were average without issues. This time, they quoted over 1,000$ for spark plugs and cylinder replacement. Did it myself for 100$. I understand needing a profit but the real issue comes in after:1) they hit something with my car without ever telling me. Likely when they were doing the fuel injection cleaning. I shouldn’t find an issue when I’m washing my car the day after being serviced.2) I had them replace the four TPMS (tire pressure monitor systems) and two days later I have flats in two of the four tires (left front, right back passenger) which is unlikely from a nail or driving issue.On all fronts, this shop is dishonorable (damaging the car without acknowledging it), shoddy in their work (two flats from TPMS placement), and over priced (1,000 quote for 100$ worth or parts completed in an hour). I would caution all who want to use this shop.

I made an appointment for an oil change, I went in and was told it would be a 2 hour wait for my car. Asked if it’s always that long of a wait and was told no and it was only because they were busy. I would understand that if I was a walk in but then what’s the point of an appointment? The gentleman said he could reschedule me for the next day in the morning and it wouldn’t take as long so we settled on a time and I left. Checking my emails I have an email saying I missed my appointment and then asking me to reschedule, so I guess that gentleman didn’t help me out like it appeared he did. I’ll take my business elsewhere. Very unorganized for such a big company name.

Luckily my part was under warranty because paying for car repairs is the worst. I take my car here for nearly everything (Olli change, tires, power issues) unless I find a better coupon/deal, which if I searched thoroughly I might find but keeping repairs with the same shop is probably much better.If they did body work I'd take it to them as well

Made an appointment at the spring valley location, I checked i would be waiting for my car. Showed up at 10 am and the man in the front seemed as if he was already having a bad day, tells me it will be about 2 hours and i said It was fine, I was willing to wait so then he rudely tells me this location only takes drop offs and my car wouldn’t be ready until late afternoon.

Limited experience but great courtesy support. Representative helped me out with low tire pressure with a top off and advised replacing tire. Because I was in a rental I checked in with rental agency and was given to get tire replacement. The complimentary advise and air fill kept me safe.

Harolds customer service is on point, and the master tech that worked on my car diagnosed and fixed the issue. I come to this Pepboys regulary and I will continue to. This location has some of the best service. These mechanics and their management are all clear and transparent about what they can do and how much it will be. Sometimes there are things that may come up after inspection or as they get into the job, but they are quick to contact you and let you know what they can do and are fast on getting parts if they are available. Dave was the manager I spoke with on the phone and was a pleasure to work with in the shop. Karl did an excellent job repairing my tire and was quick and efficient with his work. They do get busy sometimes, but if you are willing to be patient with them when they are, they will do the best they can. These guys will always be on my list of places to call first for any maintenance my vehicle needs.

I USED TO USE Pepboys exclusively, but their service has been on a decline for year. I came in under warranty for my brakes. Under 15,000 miles of normal use and my brake pads need to be replaced. The pads were" warrantied" but I had to pay full price for the labor. This makes no sense when clearly these were subpar brakes of they need to be replaced so soon. The upselling of getting my rotos resurfaced was insane. I asked to see the rotors, because if they were just resurfaced under 15,000 miles ago, why do I need them resurfaced again? Oh yeah, for more money out of my pockets. They tried to tell me what is recommended and what they do, but the reality is, my rotors were fine. Then I needed a brake flush, and leaky struts and a ton of other issues. I have a regular mechanic and I also go to the dealer, and none of these issues have been brought up before.

I have been using pep boys simply for oil changes on my vehicle. I feel their service has dropped poorly. Once I took my car in again just for an oil change it seemed to be done. When I got home to check my engine I found a filter cap removal tool in my engine bay. I was so surprised I couldn’t be it. That could’ve caused me some serious problems. The 2nd time I went in they took to long I had to leave or would’ve missed a medical appointment. About a week ago I went for another oil change it took them more than 5hrs just to complete an oil change. I even brought it in an hr early. That’s truly sad. I may not use pep boys service ever again. To all customers please be aware of what you read and check your engine before you leave there property. Thanks.

$100 just to “look” at it. Are they insane?! They said because I had serviced it at a Subaru prior to them they needed to completely service it and that alone would be $100 when all I needed was added oil or oil change. Greed at its finest.

Have used services in the past and have had a great experience. My resent visit was not too good, I had to return due to scheduling and wait time. However when I returned for the work to be done I was pleasantly surprised that the shop gifted me my services. I was not expecting this at all. Its so nice to know there are still companies that value their customers. I will continue to use their services. Very heart felt for me and appreciate how they took care of me. Thank you

I am giving 2 stars because they at least did the one repair that was requested. Prior to that, I was given no timeframe and I was pressured over the phone when they contacted me about "other repairs." They were so insistent that I almost wanted to take my car out of their shop. Embarrassingly, I had to tell them I could not afford all those repairs and that I just needed this one maintenance issue fixed. I finally had to call towards their end of day to hear the status of my car. When I finally picked up my vehicle, the service advisor didn't apologize or even acknowledge the specific repairs that needed to be done. "It's there on the paper." Not quite the good customer service I was expecting from a company like this.

Went in to have my tire patched and my tires were bad that they needed to be changed. Dustin the assistant service manager helped me find a good price for new tired with their promotion of buy 3 get one free. I only waited an hour. I had my two dogs with me and they let me hang in the lobby meanwhile my tires were getting changed. Good service and friendly!

I had an emergency flat on my way home today on the 125. As I was making for the exit I noticed a sliver of a pep boys sign out of the corner of my eye and I made it there driving on my rim. David was a great help, found my tire and got me fixed up in 30 mins. I consider myself lucky to have found this shop and not have had to pay for a tow. I came away with a positive reaction to a maddening situation.
