SWAP MEET QUALITY STUFF!! I bought a $270 pair of boots, tried them on, and felt okay enough. But that first session felt weird. So I pull out the liners...and of course the right one is all wonky, defective. Very poorly sewn and misformed, while the left one is perfect, new and well made. Who pulls out the liners trying them on at the store??? So now I'm probably stuck with one foot positioned all screwy and messed up bcuz it's directly in THIS LINER that's NO GOOD! (See photos) If the liner is misformed, your whole stance feels off and boots are uncomfortable. 👎(Update: Even more suspicious considering how RIDE claims to make them.🤔)

I went to Tahoe Sports Ltd. at the end of ski/snowboard season last year because I was ready to buy a whole new snowboarding setup. Initially I was ready to leave them a 5 star review because of how helpful everyone seemed but now a year later I feel like it was all an act to get me to buy what gear they wanted to get rid of and I was the lucky rube to walk in the door that day.I knew I could have gotten better prices online but I like to support local shops that will help you get what you need and answer questions with their expert knowledge. I got the whole setup - new board, bindings, and boots. I'm normally a size 12 in everything but they insisted I was an 11.5 and kept pushing a specific boot - the DC Judge which was over $350.I wore the boots for about 30 minutes in the store and I kept telling them there was no way these boots are going to stretch out to get comfortable, but they insisted and again they were the expert knowledge...Well here I am new ski/snowboard season later and I had to buy a new pair of boots and sell the DC Judge on ebay at a huge loss because Tahoe Sports Ltd. wouldn't accept returns...Don't fall for their tricks like I did, I called them multiple times and tried to give them a chance to rectify the situation but they weren't willing to do anything about it.

Always been one of my favorite places to shop when in the Tahoe area, and our latest visit reconfirmed this. My 15 year old needed new snowboard boots and bindings...Christopher was amazing! He took his time working with my son to make sure he had the right fit on the boots, the right bindings for how he rides, and even educated him more on snowboards for when he's ready for a new one. He was so fun and encouraging to my son. We will definitely be back to see him when we visit next year. Thanks for the great selection & service

Nice shop. I had a BOA issue on a pair of boots I bought online and wore 4 times. Technician went the extra mile to get me fixed up in a very short amount of time and it only cost $30. Much appreciated. Good place!

This is a great shop with lots of gear options and some really cool and knowledgeable people working there that can really help you make good decisions .That’s the upside, the downside is there are a few people there that are more interested in maximizing profits over customer service. I’m a ski instructor at a local resort and I’ve worked at other ski shops. The shop I worked at has guaranteed fit, if it didn’t fit after we sized we’d offer options to custom fit and we stood behind gear we sold, if it broke within 30 days after sale we’d exchange and make it right. Unfortunately not so at Tahoe Sports. I’ve heard a few less than glowing endorsements about them not standing behind a product and by their recommendations for boot fit and proper equipment sizing selection. Basically pushing product that they want to move. My own experience recently was purchasing a product that failed after one use. I attempted to return and exchange the product and was told I need to warranty it with the manufacturer or I could have it repaired at my cost which would obviously void a warranty. So if you need a product on your ski vacation or if you’re an industry professional that needs a product for work I advise the old adage “let the buyer beware “ is in Full effect at this shop. If you’re purchase is defective or boot fit is off you’re stuck. They do not stand by the customer is always right. I was going to purchase an avalanche safety package for my significant other but not there after this. I try to support local shops but I’ll be ordering elsewhere. I’ll also be advising my students to buy their ski gear elsewhere. Boots and skis are expensive and many can’t afford to be stuck with broken, defective, or ill fitting boots. This especially sucks if you’re on a ski vacation and then out needed equipment. Save yourself a headache and go to REI or Heavenly ski shops.

Huge shoutout to Patrick for the amazing boot fitting today. Patrick was really professional, had clear communication and took a lot of time with me (around 1h!) to recommend different models and help me compare them. I ended up going with a pair that has been the perfect blend of comfort and control/performance so far! The pair was also within the budget I had in mind originally. Patrick seemed more focused on getting me the right fitting boot rather than upselling, which I really appreciated.Thanks again for the great experience. Strongly recommended!

Vega was awesome! (Snowboard dept) He was an encyclopedia of knowledge and helped me pinpoint the exact boot for my foot type! We went to them as we were in a bind with our goggle's sticky strap and they helped us understand the problem and the fix. They also went out of their way to clean up our helmet.They could easily have said "not bought here and not our problem." It would have been an understandable response.But they cared, and it showed. Very grateful.

FOR FUTURE PCT HIKERS.Bought shoes here for the PCT. Around 4pm yesterday. Came to return in next morning LITERALLY just wore them around the hostel to make sure I would switch to Altras. They denied the return because "they're not REI" he stated dust on the tongue, rocks on the sole "They looked worn" ??they were dusty at the bottom when i bought them and i didnt care because i was gonna destroy them on trail. You're wayyyyyy better off (especially as a PCT HIKER) going toTAHOE MOUNTAIN SPORTS IN TRUCKEEWAYYYYYYY more options than this little spot.Included the pic of the "Dirty worn " shoes they wouldn't take back for reference.

It's a big store, and they seem to have a lot of different stuff, but they also seemed to not have the things I actually needed. Still, the people are nice, and the place is clean and neat. I picked up a cork block for waxing, so it was nice that they had that. The location is convenient, and they have a wide selection of goods, all at Tahoe prices.

Great store with tons of selection. Staff was great! The service dept went above and beyond to fix my son’s bike in just a couple hours. Saved the day for our ride the following morning. Super thankful for them! I thought the pricing was very fair as well. We’ll definitely make it a regular stop.

I wanted to send out a shout out to the gentleman that helped me pick out an air mattress. I don't remember his name. But that upgrade to my car camping gear was a game changer for me. I used my mattress Oct. 7th on my way home. I stayed over at Turtle Creek Camp Ground in Long Pine, Ca. I slept very well on that mattress. Again thank you sir for your help.

All gear for ALL sports - and great/helpful staff! Boot fitting staff was extremely knowledgeable and willing to spend the time to get you into not just any boot, but the PERFECT boot. Most other staff are equally educated in their gear (skis, bikes, fishing, camping, etc) -- whle waiting to talk with Patrick, I had the opportunity to listen to him explain the ins and outs of new bindings to a shopper today - he was perfect in explaining everything: cost, best uses, and after asking the shopper some questions, was able to make two pointed recommendations. It was also telling that other shops in the area referred me to Tahoe Sports Ltd!

My boyfriend and I came by today to pick up some climbing shoes for him and we received really poor customer service. We waited around for 15 minutes before someone offered to help. The young woman that came to "help"' us was on her cell phone on a personal call making plans with someone while we continued waiting. She knew we needed help but decided her personal phone call was more important. When she finally came around to helping us she made a snide remark about how she was surprised I didn't know the US to EU conversion for his size off the top of my head. We found what we needed, but the service wasn't good and she was kind of rude.

Seemed like we visited every sporting goods store in town while trying to replace lost luggage items and we liked this one the best, insomuch we came back 3 times. Staff are friendly and helpful and great selection. Also dog in the store, pretty great.

We were in need of a new pair of bindings for my son's snowboard. Tahoe Sports Ltd was our first stop and we were happy with the service but didn't buy yet. We shopped around as we are not locals and don't know where to go. Needless to say we did come back the following day. The employees were all very nice and very helpful. Left the board and they installed the bindings and did a little tune (on the board not a song and dance number). Our Giant friend who was with us also found a new pair of boots and he never can seem to find a place that has his size in stock to try on. We ended up coming back several times. Great service. Friendly and helpful staff. Competitive prices. The cute and friendly dogs wandering around are a bonus.

This store has a wide selection of great sporting equipment for mountain activities. Climbing, skiing, hiking, biking, etc. as well as other sporting items like footballs and stuff like that. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The prices are reasonable. Its a really great store. Except they don't allow you to use their bathrooms. They send you to Starbucks across the parking lot, or the now closed grocery store next door. Pretty petty and inconsiderate. Can't go the extra mile and share your bathrooms with your customers? Instead you direct your customers to poach facilities from other private businesses? Is there some sort of an agreement with Starbucks and Railey's that Sports Ltd will send their customers there to use the bathroom?

I got ski boots from here, during their end of the season sale. When you buy boots here, not only were they offering 20% off, but they were also offering their lifetime boot services for free! It's their way of competing with online retailers (ie Amazon), while still having prices as low as online retailers!The service was also top knotch! The staff helping out are ski experts themselves and were very knowledgeable when recommending products.I had a great time shopping here. Highly recommend!!

As a 10+ year veteran snowboard coach, I came with her to ensure the advice she was getting from the shop matches the criteria I look for on the hill. It did in every way, and so much more!Their knowledge, patience & attention to detail in explaining the nuances of proper fitment consideration was absolutely excellent.
