this is a great day care for our dog when we visit Tahoe. the only downsides: they charge extra if you're not local and the POS asks for tip when you want to pay when a credit card

My two fur babies loved their day at Tahoe's Best Friends. Great hours , enough time for me to get business done. Both dogs were sotired from their day, they both ate dinner and off to sleep. 😉

I have a Chihuahua. Lexi is about 8 years old and she is a rescue dog. She hasn't been around other dogs since my husband and I adopted her a little over a year ago. We have never boarded her or left her with anyone else, so I was very tentative about the whole process.Christian got us all set up on Paw Partner and did the initial one hour evaluation to see if she was suitable in her interactions with other dogs. He answered so many questions for me and took so much anxiety out of the whole process for me.The next day we brought her in and left her for 7 hours. Nina checked her in, put me at ease, and was so gentle with Lexi. She was placed in a room with other small dogs.They posted pictures on Paw Partner so I could see how she was doing and promply returned my call--because I HAD to check on her, of course! They were kind to my baby and patient with me.The 7 hours seemed like an eternity to me, but she had a good time. Slept very soundly that night. No trauma at all and I'm not too sure she missed me as much as I missed her.It was a terrific experience for all of us. I wish Christian and Nina would move to Las Vegas and start a Best Friends there.

We were planning on traveling to lake Tahoe and found this place. We called to inquire about availability and the lady was very rude on the phone. I was simply trying to discuss the setup over 4th of July as my dog get anxious under loud noises like really any dog and we said she may need a retreat. They lady on the phone kept saying my dog was aggressive and asked me what conditions she aggressive under and she told me if my dog bites another dog I would be responsible for it. I kept telling her my dog was not aggressive and she kept insisting that she was. We told the lady that our dog was a Shiba Inu and I believe this lady may have had a bad interactions with a Shiba Inu in the past because she kept insisting our dog was aggressive. She said "I know what a Shiba is". I told her you keep insisting that our Shiba is aggressive and she is not she plays with other dogs, we take her to the dog park and she is very friendly. I asked her to stop insisting my dog is aggressive and she raised her voice and said "you know what we don't need your business here!!" And then she hung up. Very rude!! Horrible customer service. And so uncalled for. Wow really taken back.

My dog loves coming to Tahoe Best Friends. I love how flexible they are with their drop off times. My pup waltz right in and doesn’t turn back to say “see you soon!” whenever I drop her off. Rates are completely reasonable and I’m happy to continue using them for daycare whenever I’m in town!

Were only in town for the weekend and found them through the Paw Partners app to let our dog go to daycare while we did some non dog friendly activities around town for day. They were absolutely amazing, great space and all the dogs seemed so happy in their care. Our dog loved it there and we definitely will be using them next trip down to Tahoe! Also very nice they’re open 7 days a week :)

Very friendly staff. Need to download their app to make reservations for both daycare and/or overnight boarding. To setup an account on the app, you'll need copies of your dog's vaccination shots. Other than that, I felt very comfortable leaving my dog with them for the days we were in SLT.

I send my dog here a couple days a week. The staff are friendly and take good care of the dogs. The various dog spaces always look clean and inviting. They also have a very user friendly system to sign up and reserve space for your dog.

Easy to schedule an appointment for dog daycare or overnight boarding. Overnight boarding is especially great since they don’t crate any dogs. With a great location, it is an ideal spot to have your dog taken care of while you enjoy summer or winter activity in Tahoe.Our dog was always happy to come back and very tired when leaving. However, I would say during busy times, it does seem like there are a lot of dogs for the amount of square foot area available.

10/10 stay for our Doggo!This was our first time boarding dog. There were so many dogs for him to play with. I really liked how you can pick your dog up during the day and drop them off at night. This is a awesome place! Thank you Tahoe Best Friends!!

I called and gave ALL information about my dog, filled out all their paperwork, uploaded vaccines, received a confirmation and they took payment. I then bought my lift passes and rented skis for my one day to ski this year. When I showed up in the morning they said they couldn't watch my dog because he was a few weeks past their neuter cutoff ( I was EXTREMELY clear about this on the phone and our dog is scheduled, but our vet has been booked out.) They said "no problem" on the phone and kicked us out when we showed up. Now I'm out about $700. I will update this post after taking them to small claims court.

During a weekend trip to Tahoe, my partner and I wanted to go skiing but realized we couldn't leave the dog in the cabin for that long. Luckily I found Tahoe Best Friends and the great reviews did not disappoint.I called on a Saturday and was able to get my dog, Kodi, in the next day. The $50 price tag was super affordable and the employees were incredibly friendly.If you're taking a trip to Tahoe and need a dog day care, call Tahoe Best Friends!

Super glad we came across Best Friends during our visit to Tahoe. This place is amazing, along with the owner and all the employees! I love the way they do things here, getting away from the typical way of dog boarding with cages and limited socializing. My dog was able to roam free with all his other four legged friends. This is definitely our new go-to spot anytime we're nearby.

This was my first time boarding my dog and I was a little nervous. But it was such a positive experience for both me and my dog!! I had a worry free weekend and my dog got to play and romp and have a great time at Tahoe Best Friends. The owner, Paige was so responsive when I called to check in on my dog, she even sent me a photo of him smiling ear to ear that made my day! Totally put me at ease. My dog is happy and healthy and I would absolutely board him at Tahoe Best Friends again. Wonderful experience.

My puppy loves this place. She is getting socialized with other dogs. It has increased her confidence when out walking in the neighborhood. Having "Tahoe Best Friends" in out lives is great for me too. I know my girl is loved and taken good care of. She comes home exhausted but relaxed. We could not survive without the team at TBF. We took our big guy Castle there Saturday & Sunday over MLK weekend and he had a blast.The location is really convenient if you’re staying in South Lake Tahoe and skiing/snowboarding nearby. It’s also a great price at $50 for 1 day of daycare.He loved all the furniture so he could hang out and relax and he felt right at home. The staff were super kind and seemed really attentive. After his first day on Saturday he was so excited to go back on Sunday to play. He was thoroughly tired out afterwards and we all know a tired dog is a good dog!

This place is great! My dog can be wary of strangers, but they knew exactly how to work with him and make him feel right at home. The staff is very friendly and was super accommodating. We were visiting Tahoe from the Bay Area and there was a last minute mix-up with the vaccine situation and they were able to get me into a local vet to get it straightened out immediately. The cabin we were staying at did not allow dogs, but I was still able to get my dog out for play time in the snow because they let you take your dog out during the day. How cool is that!?! I will definitely be using Tahoe Best friends next time we are in the area!

Tahoe Best Friends is a not-so-hidden gem that absolutely made our trip to South Lake Tahoe. Our 7 m/o lab puppy is usually shy around new people, but warmed up to Paige and her crew instantly. It was so great knowing that we could leave Harley in great hands during the day. And best of all, she was so happy and TIRED when we picked her up. Thank you for taking such great care of Harley—we’ll be back soon!!

Our dog used to go here. He came home one day with a bloody ear. No mention to us that he got attacked that day (we had to call them) and the owner told us he got in a fight over a ball. Doggy daycares should not have free floating toys as you never know if dogs are agressive with toys. They also always gave our dog a treat in front of their office dog even though we repeatedly told them our dog was food agressive. The place also smells awful.

We always use this great place when we go to Tahoe & need a day to ourselves and not neglect our dogs. You know your dogs like it when you pull up & the run to the door to get in. I'm so happy we found them. Paige the owner is sweet too & is an active owner which we love. We haven't met anyone we didn't like here. They all seem to care & love what they do which makes the difference. Oh and the great thing here is you can pick up your dog for the dat & bring them back by 7pm. Love that.

My dog just spent 10 days at Tahoe Best Friends. She loved it! At the end of the day, she was always in good spirits. She would greet me in the lobby and then go hang out with the staff member at the computer. My pup needs mid-day medications which they gave her regularly. In fact I forgot to leave her meds one day and the staff member asked me about it at the pick up. Very professional and kind staff. Highly recommended!
