This place is legendary to put it simply. I was helped out by Jason and he nailed my fitting from start to finish! I went ahead and did the custom foot bed and I don't regret it whatsoever. Money well spent for sure. I was recommended Olympic by multiple friends and it definitely lived up to the hype they gave it. I ended up skiing in the boots the day of up at Heavenly and they felt light years better than anything I've worn before. Can't thank these guys enough for all the help they gave me. I felt a lot more comfortable going here than a big sale store and looking back, I know I made the right choice. Would definitely recommend this place to some of my buddies and anyone who's an avid skier and are sick of renting! I know my boots I bought from them will carry me a long way on the slopes. They tried to tell me my boots were to big and they can’t make them smaller. Tried to sell me $1000 worth of gear when my boots actually did fit me properly. I went somewhere else and rather than selling me a new pair of boots they said they fit perfectly and I just needed an insole. I asked Olympic boot works if an insole would work and they said no. Honesty goes a long way. Check out some of the other stores in town that have much more inventory. Avoid this place,

Snowboarder review! Solved foot and knee problems I’ve had for years in a day!Couldn’t be happier with the insoles I got! Worth every penny, the heel lock insoles are unique to other insoles and definitely work as intended. The service provided also educated me thanks to the tech’a knowledge. If you have any questions about whether you have low or high arches, or what injuries their product will help you mitigate you are in the right hands!

From the minute I walked in I liked their focus... boots!They made custom footbeds that were just what my high arches needed. The ZipFit liners make my ski boots feel warmer and fit much more comfortably. This place is the best. I bought my boots with custom heel loc foot bed over a year ago. I have an issue with my right foot and was hesitant about going in and asking for help. They adjusted my foot bed so that it fits even better. My boots fit so well I have all day comfort. If you are near Tahoe this is the place to go for ski boots. They made sure to tell me to come back if I have any issues with comfort or performance.

Herschel immediately recognized that my boots were 3 sizes too big.He got me in a great fit boot with an orthotic and booster strap.I have never skied better or felt better on the mountain. I’ve skied Southlake Tahoe and all over the country for the past 40 years and Olympic boot works is by far and away the best boot shop I have ever seen. I am a difficult fit and dread getting new boots. After Levi finished fitting and tuning my boots I have skied in perfect warmth and comfort every day. I wouldn’t consider buying boots anywhere else. The zipfit liners and heel lock foot beds are absolutely worth the money. Ok, now it’s 4 years later, my Lange shells are done and I begin the process of fitting new boots with fear and hope !I’m excited about the engineering Lange put into the new Shadow, dual pivot and adjustable elastmers, giving us more leverage over our skis and smoother flex ! I love them !More importantly, just as Levi at Olympic Boot Works assured me,My Zipfit liners and Heel-loc footbeds transferred right over and gave me completely locked in, COMFORTABLE, and warm feet immediately!!!I am so stoked to skip the multiple tweaks I used to need to get comfortable!You can trust these guys to get it completely right the first time!!!

Wow! I came in with boots I've had for a couple of seasons that never quite fit right and was hoping they could do adjustments or inserts to resolve the issue.I was patiently helped by Hershel who concluded that the boots were simply the wrong shell size (along with some specifics about this manufacturers shell sizes that might take other fitters by surprise).He recommended I take them back to the original shop because of this and so I did. They knew who he was and respected his work, so armed with his say-so they re-fitted me for new boots for free. This never would have happened without his attention to detail and the reputation he has. I am back to enjoying the backcountry!I guess I am not really a customer since Olympic Bootworks didn't charge me even though I would happily pay. I'll only go here in the future.

Levi is phenomenal at figuring out how to make your boot feel like a dream, all day! He was able to take my boots from a nightmare I couldn't feel my feet in, to a snug hug I didn't want to unstrap from ALL DAY. Would recommend the heel-loc option since that's what made the biggest improvement in comfort and control. Incredibly Levi got it turned around by 8am the next morning.Heads up there may be a wait when the store gets busy because they take their time for a perfect fit, but it'll be worth it.

I am a 52-year-old degenerate expert skier. I have three pair of skis and a snowboard in the back of my truck. I have never had an experience in a ski boot as amazing as the one that I had today. All of the guys at Olympic are amazing at their craft. Do not leave here without buying molded inserts and the zip fit liners. I know they are expensive, but it is a night and day difference having these two products in association with the right size boot that makes the skiing experience the one that you are searching for. I am only disappointed that it took me 47 years of skiing to figure this out. Thanks again to the guys at Olympic.

I did my research before coming out to Tahoe and made Olympic Bootworks my first stop. My wife and I are life-long skiers. We are starting our retirement years, so that give you an idea of how long we have been at it. For most of this time, I have settled on "boots that fit" and not caring much more than that. At the start of the last season, I had the need for new boots. My "cheap" self wanted to go with the same old, same old. But my wife pushed me to go to Olympic BootWorks and give it a try. We happened to be at North Shore that season, so we went to the North Tahoe BootWorks.I totally expected a "sales pitch" to try to put me in the most expensive solution. I couldn't have been more wrong. From the instant I stepped in the place, I got the feeling that I was working with people that had a mission to improve my skiing. I was interviewed, measured, examined. I swear, it was like a thorough doctor's visit where you feel they are really looking after you.They gave me a couple of options to work with and hit the slopes. There was some small discomfort, went back to the shop, they made some adjustments and I have never skied better.By mid-season, I couldn't stop talking about how great things where, my wife decided to buy a pair at the end of the season. I wish I could remember the guys that helped us out back then, but you can't go wrong. They are all great.This article is about South Lake Tahoe. At the start of this season, now skiing back at Heavenly, my wife was in serious pain putting on the exact same boots on the 1st day. We couldn't figure it out and went directly to South Lake Tahoe BootWorks. We were met by Hershell (not sure of the spelling) and his wonderful dog. He took the time to examine the boots and the situation. The bottom line was that, although the boots we had purchased were right for her, the stock inside was of less quality than what he liked. It wore prematurely, so he took the time to take care of the situation. He made other adjustments and we hit the slopes.It wasn't perfect, so we went back, a couple more custom tweaks and haven't looked back. We had a fabulous season (Mott Canyon, The Wall, etc) and never had another issue.Bottom line, if we went ANYWHERE else after the purchase, I don't think we would have received the same care.I truly believe that these folks are here to make sure we ski harder, better and more comfortably.

We were staying in Heavenly skiing with the kids and the wife’s ankle was in a lot of pain with the rental ski boots. Stopped by Olympic Bootworks and they understood exactly what she needed. They added the Heel-Loc system and after skiing all day today, she has no pain and is in complete comfort. I also had the Heel-Loc fitted to my ski boots and it made such a difference. So comfortable. These guys are excellent and know exactly how to make skiing fun.

I just purchased an amazing pair of Nordica ski boots with Zipfit liner and custom foot bed, all expertly assessed and crafted by Levi — AKA Yoda, at Olympic boot Works.Amazing fit, no hotspots, now with incredible connection/translation of my foot pressure to my skis now experienced. I have never experienced anything like it! The Force is definitely in Levi’s hands!!!

I purchased a pair of boots with custom insole at full retail price last year (2021-2022) when I first got into serious skiing, a total of over $1300 dollars with them. I stayed at south lake tahoe for 2 weeks, go skiing with the boots everyday and come back for adjustments with them undertheir boot fitting guarantee. Just a little bit of background.What I ended up getting was quite unpleasant services. They kept denying my feeling about the boots at the beginning, saying that it was not broken in. I had a clear pressure point that hurt me so bad that I almost could not stay in the boots on snow for just half a day. It took me three visits to finally convinced them punching out that particular location. They said they did, but it still hurts.They were being so arrogant that kept telling me that I do not know what I want, and they know exactly what is going on, told me to break the boot in on the mountains time after time. and then the ski season ended in 2022 April.At the beginnin of this season (2022-2023), I still got so much pain at that point. I had to go to an EVO right after the first day, and they punched out the location for me. It was a true punch-out: I can clearly feel the difference. The work done by olympic bootworks was NOT EVEN CLOSE.More issues showed up after I gradually learned about the sports and the equipments: I realized that they did not even try to adjust my CUFF CANTING ALIGNMENT - which is WAY OFF and causing me hard to release my inside edges because of that. I payed so much price in time and money, and went through three PSIA DECL team coaches to help me realize that. It's just simply not acceptable. I specificaly asked about this at the VERY BEGINNING when I purchased the boots, and they basically said I know nothing and I should not worry about that. Everything was in their control. And now I figured out that they sold me a boot that was not able to adjust the canting angle. Surprise surprise. Maybe that's why they do not want to adjust that in the first place.Simply do not go to this place. They acted like they know everything - they probably do. But they are just lazy / arrogant enough to not try the necessary "professional level adjustment" for you since they think you are just a beginner, and they think they can get away with it. Do not let them.

Very professional and know what they are doing. I'd like to personally thank Jason (I hope I remembered correctly), who helped me get some new boots last minute on a walk in. My old boots were heavy, killing me, and not the right size (I bought used a long time ago). He took a look at my feet and knew exactly what I needed. The first pair he brought out fit like a glove and they were amazing on the mountain the next day. No pain. He knew what he was doing and had a lot of experience. Don't let the few reviews away you, he's had over a decade experience and this location just opened. Check out reviews for the squaw valley location if you need. They Then gave great recommendations for bindings and installment. Thanks again!Also, new boots are going to be between $600-800. Keep that in mind wherever you go. This place had normal if not better pricing.

This shop got me in the right boot. I have an extremely flat foot, finding boots has been difficult my entire life. Levi took one look at my foot and said "you have a tecnica foot." I tried on a few different boots. He was right. Boots only required A little bit of heat molding. They're getting better as I break them in.I took a chance buying these while on vacation in Lake Tahoe. I bought them the 1st day so they could be adjusted throughout the trip if necessary. However, the initial heat molding was all that was required...They got me in a boot that fits properly and is the proper stiffness for my ability. There was no additional charge for the molding.Despite what I've heard around town, they did not give me a hard sell on their custom footbeds. (Which do look excellent in my opinion, although i did not need them) Levi Looked at my situation individually and decided it wasn't necessary for my application. I Never once felt pressured to buy anything that I didn't want. I truly felt they wanted me in the most comfortable/appropriateboot. Great customer service. Come here for their knowledge. It's worth it.Prices are basically the same you're gonna find anywhere. Standard retail. Not over priced.

This place is incredible. Hershal and Levi are legends. I quite skiing 20 years ago and went to snowboarding because the boots where unbearable. Picked it back up last year, and bought top of the line boots but they didn't fit right. Brought them over to Bootworks and they immediately knew why. They put me in some custom fit orthotics and their liners and now could literally could wear these boots all day, no problem. Didn't think it was possible. Not only are Hershal and Levi amazing at what they do, but there super friendly and great dudes.

Came in at the last minute before my ski vacation looking for replacement boots. Staff were super accommodating and very helpful. They are extremely knowledgeable, and will not try to send you out of the store with a boot unless they know it will work for you. They don't push or rush, and it truly feels like they just want to walk out with something that suits you. Cannot recommend enough.

Thank you Levi for fixing my foot Metatarsal problem- I can ski without that chronic pain!!I was referred to Olympic Bootworks by a well known local skier. He raved about the fit and performance of the Heel Loc footbeds and Zipfit liners. He showed me the liners and footbeds, and how it all worked. Then showed me actual performance on the slopes. Wow!So I visited their store on Ski Run Blvd and met with boot fitter Levi a few weeks ago. I bought new boots and heel lock footbeds. No Zipfit liners yet - wanted to test new boots and foot beds first.After initial testing of the boots without footbeds he switched them to a pair of Langes due to a hot spot on my left instep. (I have a tough time finding shoes too). The Lange boot fit much better - no hotspots anywhere, especially the instep. Thank you Levi! The stock liners worked well too.I rode on the stock footbeds a couple days then went back for the Heel Loc foot bed custom fitting. The guys at Bootworks treated me like a friend, Levi patiently measuring and molding my feet.I explained to Levi that I had a problem with my left foot - metatarsal inflammation. Its like you have a rock in your shoe. very uncomfortable, then painful when it inflames. a show stopper for me. He understood.My Heel Locs were ready the next morning. Thats service!. I rode for a few hours - my Metatarsal pain was gone! unbelievable. It felt better to be in the boots than in my "special" shoes. The new foot bed support helped so much.I was able to ride all week in comfort, no pain, and the liners breaking in quick.My skiing is better, heels locked in tight and great ski control. What a difference the footbeds make. I cant thank Levi and the team enough. They are serious about boot fitting, doing what it takes to provide the best boot / liner/ footbed solution. Im very happy with my excellent new boots and foot beds and very happy with the professional and friendly service.I highly recommend Olympic Bootworks and will be back for the Zipfit liners soon.

Best bootfitting experience on the planet!! Levi (25+ years experience) and Jason (15+ years experiences) were so knowledgeable and kind! They hooked me up with perfectly fit boots after just a few experiments, shared some hilarious stories, and gave buckets of critical local knowledge. They even gave me a hat! I'm a snowboarder not knowing this was primarily a ski boot speciality house, and he still gave me a few pointers before referring somebody else who was a snowboard boot guru in town. Would definitely come here if I were a skier, and they still do custom orthotics for snowboarders if that's what you're looking for.

My wife and I were fitted for new boots last year right before the Pandemic at Olympic in SLT and only had a few days on snow after purchasing. Have had 7 days on snow this year and my new boots have been a game changer ! Pushing age 60 and 40 years of skiing and carving better than ever. Great fit and now fabulous control. Dont remember the name of the gent who did the fitting but it was a home run. Looking forward to getting my wife on snow ( and over sensation that the correctly fitted boot is too tight) and see the improvement t in her skiing as well. Highly recommend the folks here. Professional, patient and kind. Next time you are in the Tahoe area and looking for a great boot and a great fit try Olympic!!

This place does one thing and does it better than anyone: ski boots. I've bought boots here and had them do some adjustments on mine and my girlfriend's. Everyone who works here is strong. They've always treated me fair on pricing. Good boots aren't cheap but you're getting attentive and excellent service. Go here and get everything done right.

I wanted to write a review about this specific location. I have flat feet and they've always been bothersome when doing anything really intensive. I got my first pair of snowboard boots last year. As was learning to ride and progressing to longer runs and more pressure on my feet, I was getting a lot of foot pain. I was hoping to get some footbeds to address the problem.After a bunch of research I landed on Olympic Bootworks as the best choice. I worked with Jason and he explained that my boots were way too big and that was the root of my foot pain. I was having to crank on the boas and bindings to get everything tight and that was crushing my foot. He straight up said I'm not going to sell you a footbed for these boots unless you really want one because it's not going to address the problem.Jason took 30+ minutes to look at my feet and my boots and work with me to solve the problem - even if it meant I wasn't going to spend money at his shop (they don't sell snowboard boots, only ski). He referred me to a couple shops that he trusted to do a proper snowboard boot fitting. I ended up getting a new pair of boots that fit and a set of footbeds from OBW and it's been a night and day difference!I don't usually write reviews, but the level of expertise and customer service here was genuinely special.

Waited 30 minutes for service and didn’t get acknowledgement; a look then back to chatting with others about nothing pertaining to business. Perhaps me being a younger customer (compared to 50+ in store) gave a stigma I wasn’t a serious buyer- but I was. I was excited to spend top dollar on a good fitting and boots to enhance my skiing experience, but not acknowledging me with at least a “welcome” or “be with you in a bit” after 30 minutes frustrated me, left me feeling disrespected, and lost my business.

Game changers!!! Patience when fitting my Frankenstein foot. Custom adjustments on any hot spot. They are practically foot doctors in the ski boot business. Incredible performance and very comfortable. Levi is the best.
