We visited this store over Labor Day weekend 2023 and found the most beautiful blankets! The owner, Cash, was so patient and helped me pull out multiple blankets while deciding. The handmade, alpaca wool blankets with their vibrant colors and designs in blue and green were so unique that I ended up taking home 2, one for my husband and one for me to use on those cold winter tv movie nights. My daughter also found a vibrant blue alpaca sweater poncho, it will be a great keepsake from our 1st trip to beautiful Lake Tahoe.

My wife and I stopped in this store because we appreciate everything alpaca. We walk in and the first thing you see above is a right wing extremist flag. The more you look around the more propaganda you will see. Apparently the owner of this store has decided it would be a good business decision to use his store as an expression of his political extremism. Good luck with that. Just strange.

Whenever I visit Tahoe, I consistently make a point to stop by this store. The staff's unfailing friendliness and helpfulness, coupled with it's extensive selection, make each visit a delightful shopping experience.

My Husband and I could spend HOURS in this store! We came by on our Honeymoon and ended up going in twice! They have such unique knives, jewelry, wood carvings, alpacas, and soooo much more! Thank you for making our trip so special and memorable! Now we have the most amazing souvenirs to last a lifetime from our Honeymoon!

Made the quickest u-turn once I saw all of the political stuff plastered on the walls. It’s funny for a store that sells exotic goods. You’d expect them to have more domestic goods. It’s not the most welcoming space. Sure the owner is probably just using his freedom of speech. Still, that is the type of stuff that should be posted on a Twitter page and not inside a business regardless of political stance.P.S. I doubt the (hate) hats are made in the USA, probably manufactured in China. Spend your money elsewhere. The store is confusing as hell on what they are trying to sell here…

Edited to add: the owner of this story responded to my review with “that’s funny as hell”, so I’ve amended it to add- don’t waste your time going to this store with an owner like this. Plenty of other places to give your money to in Tahoe.Walked in with our young kids and we were greeted by signs and hats that made us uncomfortable. We then had to then explain why someone would put mean things on hats and sell them in their store. Needless to say, we didn’t spend time or money here.

We spent 5 minutes in the store and my friend walked out with the most epic poncho of all time. She'll basically look like an alpaca queen for the rest of her life, so we were very pleased for the spontaneous trip into Alpaca Exotic Imports. They have extremely soft and cozy pillows, blankets and accessories for all your wintery needs. There are locations all around town!

My family and an Asian family were watched and followed the whole time we were there. Very uncomfortable environment considering who supplies them and 40 to 50% more expensive for the same products than other distributors. This was the one and only place in South Tahoe that made us feel uncomfortable!

I didn't really shop around because I was turned off at the fulgar cap on the stuffed alpaca. The employee behind the counter wanted to engage with me but honestly I was too disgusted and just wanted to get out of there. Displaying personal politics at the front door is a poor business model. First amendment goes both ways. You can say what you want and I can not talk to you and walk out. Both areAmerican privileges.

They have beautiful lapidary stonework. As we walked the store my husband found the fur scarfs and wanted to buy one for me. Worth every penny! The gentleman said to my husband you're going to wish you bought three. He was right. The most soft fur you will ever feel against your skin. It will change your mood.

Great place. Beautiful Alpaca fur goods but also a pro Trump store and honors our Constitutional rights to free speech and free opinions. Got this hat there and will return next time I’m in South Lake Tahoe

Very nice things, very expensive though. Customer service needs huge improvement.First thing first - if you want to retain business and make your customers comfortable, stop hovering over them in the store. Let me breathe. Every time I come into this place, I am followed around and anything I remotely glance at, I get told the specifics and pricing. It’s a huge turn off and makes me uncomfortable each time. I would probably stay in the store and browse for longer and in turn buy something if you weren’t following me watching my every move. Bears and small stuffed animals are $85 dollars which is outrageously expensive.
