This place for skiing is absolutely fantastic! I highly recommend getting the unlimited pass, it's totally worth it. The staff there is absolutely amazing, I couldn't ask for better service. Something really awesome happened when I lost my pass. They were supposed to charge me $10, but the lady working there was incredibly kind and didn't charge me at all. And let me tell you, the food there is absolutely delicious. Overall, it's just an incredible place to be.

Not worth $$$ spent. I have never seen such irresponsible vacation place. It's terrible for a paid snow place. I would say it's no different from public parks. One of the elderly visitors slipped and fell on Ice, and the staff there laughed and did not even feel like lifting him.Terrible maintenance and lack of parking instructions. See the photos; I have 23 more photos. The staff at reception are excellentRest are horrible; Bathrooms are clean,Snow tubes, snow chains, and snow conveyance are all old and risky.I wish management acts responsibly and provide safety, if you charge me your are to act for the $$$ cost.

As a first time snowboarder I have no frame of reference to other resorts, but husband is an avid snowboarder and was also very happy with our experience here, especially with the bunny slope options for me and the staff.Very family and beginner friendly. Everyone who was there never made me feel like I was an inconvenience or in the way. Everyone was very helpful, parking was super easy, bathrooms clean, easy ticket/pass process. Will definitely be back!

OK, AnG does not ski or snowboard, so our review is based on what we did and our service. We bought all-day passes to the resort for 60.00 each online. But A chose the wrong day, so for 20.00, they fixed it. They were pleasant, and it's 20.00 extra bu KS to fix my mistake. We encountered 5 employees, and all were great. The guy at the parking lot directed us, and the next guy guided us to our parking spot. The girl at the window fixed our ticket issue. A young teen, Eastern European, I believe, was just so sweet and friendly. And the final one was the realest. A dropped his cell in a tube, and she held onto it, knowing exactly who I was. I mean, the staff kept fixing our problems. For two older people who don't ski or snowboard, yeah, the price is steep. But it's time spent together alone with a beautiful backdrop of the snow-covered Sierras. And the staff did make the day perfect.

Very kid and family friendly. Blue lanes are easy and good for kids or beginners to practice. Not crowded on Sundays. Not far away from South Bay, good for weekend ski trip.

This place has gone severely downhill. We were extremely disappointed in our last visit. It used to be a smaller resort with a family feel but that definitely isn't the case anymore. Not sure if they changed ownership but it seems as if they cut corners everywhere. Equipment is poorly maintained and constantly breaking. Even if equipment goes down at the beginning of the day they refuse to provide refunds. Staff was extremely discourteous and the place now feels like a just a money grab. There are plenty of other resorts in the area and you would be better off going to any of them. Avoid this place and you will have a much better time.

Took my kids skiing for the first time and the whole family loved it. Considering getting a season's pass next year. Sloppes are awesome!

A smaller ski resort but suitable for kids and beginners, especially you can enjoy the tubing and skiing on the same trip. Not so crowded compared with other ski resorts (much easier for family fun). Lift tickets and equipment rental needs to be purchased online before arrival. The equipment rental package comes with all gears and helmets, personal snowboard boots can't be used for renting the snowboard because of the liability policy. The ski resort is right beside the highway, easy access without driving among the curving mountain roads.

Went to this place for sledding, as soon as we pulled up to enter the parking lot, there were two employees from this place who told us it was $20 for parking. We had been trying to sled all day and every place we went required reservations. So we paid the $20, and thought it was a bit sketchy since we did not receive any sort of receipt. They told us the park was full and we could play on the other side of the parking in the snow. We then walked into the facility and spoke with the manager who did nothing about the situation. The parking supervisor overheard the conversation and acted like he did not know what we were talking about. When we walked back to the parking lot entrance, the two employees were gone. It seemed as if they were all in on it. If you go here and they ask for money for parking, do not pay them. Parking is free there. We were scammed and were not reimbursed.

Wonderful friendly resort for kids and beginners cuz no pros zooming by you and crashing into you. A bit confusing that ski lessons require a full ticket while the bunny slopes are a separate area, but the bunny slopes have free kids ski and snowboard rental which is amazing to let the kids try and see what they like! Tubing is great too :) The restaurant's chicken tenders are amazing, we had them 3 days in a row. Only thing is the pricing wasn't updated when we went but maybe it's fixed now. HUGE props to River and her team for making us feel so welcome and at home and settling our ticket refunds when we had a mix up. The staff seemed to enjoy working there and River herself was so helpful and personable. Props to Jacob too for a fun ski lesson for our two kiddos (younger one didn't like skiing but she still kept talking abt how funny Jacob was; older one took to it like a fish in water). Small tip if u have a sled for the kids bring it for the bunny slopes cuz it's a little bit of a walk. Highly recommended for families or beginners who want a peaceful place to learn!

Great location for all snow things you wanna do, solo or with a group of friends or family however my family was going out for the 1st time and didn't like the location much as they have no discount for kids of any age. Full price tickets for everyone. So the 3 year old and 4 year old kids missed out on the fun.

My family and I went here today, and pretty much just wasted money and time walking/hiking because the lift, and the kid’s areas are too far apart. And unfortunate, there was only one lift open. My husband and I were not beginner snowboarders so we were hoping there was a bunny hill to at least practice a bit since we haven’t gone snowboarding since we had our 2-year-old son. But there was none, and to access even the bottom of the slope, you have to have a ticket which is ridiculous. And it’s same price for both adults and kids (yes, even for our toddler son!).

Great place to bring young kids. Definitely need to purchase tickets online ahead of time and arrange all your rentals. There's usually no wait on the lifts during the week, but weekends or holidays here can get crowded.Interior could use a little update but otherwise functional, it's a no frills typical cafeteria style small lodge setup. Lots of premade grab-n-go food options with a short menu of made-to-order stuff but could be waiting forever on a busy day. There are also drinks (+beer/seltzer), snacks, and candy.

Perfect slopes for beginners and very family friendly. Make sure to get your tickets for the day before arriving especially on weekends because parking is limited and wait times can add up. Friendly and helpful staff all around.

Super rude staff! The staffs at lifts and tubing areas are great - nice and patient. But there is one guy wearing black jacket literally YELLED at me and my 3-year-old-son when we used the snowboard rent from kids planet like 30 feet away from that area. No one has told us that it’s only allowed to be used in that area - there is a small sign that most time falling down so super hard to notice. It’s super crowded in this long weekend but even so they only opened one magic cabinet in the kids area which you have to pay $75 for it - how ridiculous.Overall totally disaster experience. Highly NOT recommended!

Paid a ton of money for almost nothing! Every employee I talked to gave me a different answer on what we were paying for. I would not take kids around 2 years old to soda springs mountain resort. It’s a huge waste of money! Wait til they are 4 and maybe it’s kinda worth it. $74 for each participant or non participant is a terrible price. I would highly not recommend! We were told we couldn’t get our money back even after we were given false information. Proceed with caution!

Great family-focused mountain, and some of the best beginner runs in the Tahoe area.

They don't have group lessons for kids under 8. They make you have private lessons for them, and then the rentals don't come with the private lesson. Other than scalping people with little kids with the lesson issue, it is a pretty cool place.

Good resort specially for kids to start learning ski and have lot of fun. It is affordable and staff is very helpful and keen. Not much crowded. Kids enjoyed tubbing, ski and have fun with snowing and making snowman etc.It start @ 11:00 and end @ 4:00 pm which is good enough time. The car parking is very near to resort and they provide short shuttle service.

The Staff here are wonderful and great with kids who are “first time skiers”. They’re patience and enthusiastic to help out (especially Callie - rental staff). She’s a gem!Soda Springs is a good place to start for beginners. Start here if you’re a newbie.

Decided to hit Soda Springs on a whim after traveling to find snow. What a score! Let me caveat this review by saying I am from Florida, so if you’re used to the snow, this place might not be for you. Took my 7 year old and had a wonderful experience. They were short staffed (but everyone is these days) but were so incredibly helpful and accommodating. Due to a delayed package I wound up having to purchase ski pants and gloves from their shop. Prices were reasonable and we will hold onto them for our next ski adventure.Shout out to the staff in the kid zone - they were awesome! My son who has never even seen snow before was a pro-snowboarder by the end of the day. They were so incredibly patient and kind.Let’s talk about Catherine, one of the ski patrols, who welcomed us with open arms and even offered to get us to our Uber driver who was stuck in traffic once the slopes closed. All in all a really wonderful experience. Would absolutely go again.

Staff was very friendly and informative. I was surprised to get the "per person" price so get your tickets in Advance. You can bring your own skis or snowboard but everything else you have to rent. Very pricy, but overall a good experience. Bring your camera and your wallet.

It's a great little resort for beginners and small kids. Our 3 y.o. and 8 y.o. are having so much fun! They currently have only one lift open, but expect to open another one after the snowfall this weekend. Employees are very nice and all are very Covid-careful. Everyone wears masks and we felt very safe.

Good cozy place12-14-2020 - a bit disappointed. Drove 1.5 hrs from Sacramento with 2 kids who were really looking forward to, got there 11.30, started skiing and at 12:15p, the only lift that was operational stopped working. In these strange times, it is tough for everyone and we are hoping management must have tried hard to get it going but after 4 hours of waiting, had to return home. The disappointing part was the person at the ticket window wasn't very helpful. Later on one of the upper managers was a bit helpful. The second part that hurt was towards the end around, one of the guys that closing up the place, told us that they have it mostly fixed but they are not going to run it now since it was just us and some other people who had been waiting.

Booked a day of skiing with my three kids ($630 - without any lessons). The power went out during our first ride up - (because of snow - a frequent occurrence in a ski resort) we were stuck for over 30min on the lift with no communications from the staff. That lift (Lion’s head) was out for the day. When I requested a refund - the staff was extremely rude and dismissive saying there was nothing they could do. Only after insisting with the manager, was I able to obtain a credit back on my account. Do not go ski there - it is an organized scam - surely one of the most expensive bill for one day of skiing with the worst customer service.
