Today was a very fun day with my friends. We got to take pics and there was literally nobody around when we got there. Great time to go on a sunny day, in the beginning of Spring.

We came here during the week, after visiting busy Yosemite, and it was just pure joy, so peaceful and a lot of wildlife. Definitely one of our favorite RV campgrounds during our roadtrip (price 30 $ for a basic site)

First time going here. Lots of wildlife here, mostly birds. Tons of turkeys in the campground. A group of Turkey Vultures roosted in nearby trees.. Also saw deer, woodpeckers, Northern Flickers, Mourning Doves, Ravens & other birds. The campground sat pretty high above the lake waterline this time. Need more rain! There are hot showers for those interested, although they didn't look real clean, but it could've just been iron in the water, idk. The rest of the restrooms were clean though & well lit at night. We only had one neighbor in our loop during out stay. It was very peaceful. I will likely stay here again.

Lovely place, scenic views.Very nice and helpful Park Rangers! What can/should be improved: the toilets/showers! So filthy. Worst I've seen in a long time. Doesnt fit to this nice place!

The rv spaces are big, not too close to neighbors. Has water and electricity. One of the wooden awnings was falling apart so we had to move to another place. You do have to pay extra for pets

This is a great inland venue. There are several large mooring fields the hold really nice houseboats. The park service personnel was very nice and helpful during our visit. I will definitely return to enjoy this unique lake in central California. Safe boating everyone!!

We went here to watch the 4th of July fireworks on July 1st. 2023. We stayed at the Lagoon all day and I really liked this Lagoon a lot more than Don Pedro's Lagoon. But the fireworks I'm sure were great here but they were so far away and only lasted for 15 minutes. Such a disappointment. The Lagoon is better but the fireworks we will continue going to Don Pedro next time because it's almost like sitting beneath the gigantic fireworks at Don Pedro. And it lasts for more than 30 minutes.

I'm a neighbor to your facility and had a generic question about Bobcats (not in the area just a general question). I had called 6 different wildlife agencies, but the woman I spoke with was so helpful and friendly. I wanted say "Thank you" great service.

Beautiful place not crowded. Great place for peace and quiet. D and E loop at McClure point has the best view to the lake.

Do awesome to see the reservoir hsving much needed water after drought years and I was thinking how empty the reservoir was last year and it was cool to see boats more toward center of lake Un water versus dry decks

Love this place. Always been a great place for the family to go out and enjoy fishing or site seeing with the wild animals. Blue gills are exciting catch for the kids. There's also trout, bass, catfish and crappie excitement. Whether there's action or not its a beautiful place and wonderful nature outdoor get away. The people in the pay area are always greeting politely and they are always smiling. They are awesome. Makes it very welcoming. Only sad part is, wished some visitors picked up after themselves. Hate to see the trash and cans just thrown around when they provide trash cans for visitors.

Campground was supposed to be fully booked, there was only 4 campers there. The bathrooms were absolutely filthy. The electricity didn’t work at our site either. Called for help, but had to wait 8 hours until a maintenance man was driving by. We left after 1 night and found another campground. Very dissatisfied would not recommend to my worst enemy.

This is where I grew up, almost every weekend, & every Summer, Holiday for 2 weeks. I climbed the hills, swam,& fished in the Lake, & swim hole. Oh, how I miss it. But I moved out of State. I've lived 61 yrs., but Lake McClure will always be in my heart.

We are travelling through the area and have been at dozens of campsites. This was one of the worst camping with respect to cleanliness. The bathrooms were filthy and so was the shower. It looks as if they had not been cleaned for quite some time.

Spent a couple days fishing and camping caught a decent amount of bass, and a few catfish. Unfortunately the trout were not biting on what we were using. Great time over all though.

Beautiful area away from the hustle and bustle. Water level is lower this time, we had to hike down to reach the lake for McClure Point. Helpful and kind rangers. Free showers. Shady trees

I'm fortunate to be able camp at Lake McClure often because it is not too far from where i live. The campsites were very clean, bathrooms were very clean and well maintained and the cost to camp here at $25 per night is reasonable. We have brought our watercraft here and the people boating around us have always been courteous and responsible. The only drawback on this particular trip was the dog left tied up and unattended, at one of the campsites closer to us, would bark at every person who walked, drove, or rode by their campsite. And it might not have been a big deal if they werent so close to the bathroom, but after the first few hours of barking, i almost wanted to ask for a different site. Other than that, we had a great time. The rangers were very knowledgeable and outgoing. Special thanks to Mr. Null, the ranger we met the following day, who was very hospitable while we were checking out horseshoe bend and bagby.

I loved fishing on Lake McClure but prefer to start from McClure Point and go towards Exchequer Dam. Rarely, do I catch anything near the dam, but the dam is so impressive when you get close, it draws me like a magnet.Lake McClure has several boat ramps near McClure Point, but all of them lead to great fishing for blue gill, perch, bass, and catfish. With all the cutouts, you can always find a place of your own to fish.

It's a great place to launch your boat, kayak, or other water craft on Lake McClure . Also on the Saturday before July 4th, they have a Awesome fireworks show every year. That alone is worth going for.

Everything was great that week. It rained it was sunny, the lake was smooth as glass the only thing is the boat ramps are really steep and my truck and boatmakes it hard to turn around at the bottom.

Spent 5 days over the weekend of May 3rd & 4th, 2014 at the Lake Mc Swain. Fishing was not so good but fishing can be that way so no big deal. We did find a good spot for our 5th wheel with trees around but that was not the norm for the camping area. Not much shade for a campground that can get very hot in the summer months. We had days in the 90's (in May), I would hate to be there from June to Sept. The weekend came and so did the rest of the campers. It was nice having the families with kids. Everyone playing and because the camp sites were large in the "A" campground it worked out great.Dogs were another issue. Dogs were everywhere. I love and have dogs, they don't go camping with us but that's ok. But dogs were not kept on a leash, tied or in a pin. Barking went on all day and with dogs running free we were subject of being charged several times. Even when we were fishing at the lake we had 2 dogs charge us and my wife had to hold them off with her fishing pole until the owner came (from several camps away) to get them. We never saw a park employee once ask someone to confine their dogs.We may return but not during the summer months or on a weekend.
