Good place to dispose of unwanted items. This place is conveniently open on weekends too.The prices are low for normal landfill junk.Appliance, E-waste, cardboard, electronics and a few more are free to dispose here. They don’t allow taking photos onsite.

The exit out of the dumping area was literally paved in sharp rocks and tile, deflated my tire the day after. Why would you make the only exit a tire hazard???

$35 to make the old fence go away.If I had little kids, I would totally bring them here to see the heavy equipment.

I am doing the for other people so they will not have to pay the additional amount if $25.00. You have to have your items covered with a tarp or some other cover or they will charge you an extra $25.00. We have never experienced the before with any other facility. So people that do not know are committed to paying the additional fee. We were not happy with the extra charge not knowing ahead of time. Otherwise the facility was fine. I would have given three stars if it was not for the extra fee.

This place is unsafe. To the driver of the tractor on Saturday 10/22 @ 10am - you were within 5 feet of me and my vehicle and were maneuvering at unsafe speeds. You easily could have waited until I was done unloading. I felt completely unsafe. Unacceptable!

This place is fine...no worries. Actually my biggest worry going to a land fill is getting a flat tire. I did see pieces of rebar and other miscellaneous items in the road but I just steered around them. They have different areas for dumping various sorts of items; mattresses in one area, general items in another. This is a dirt covered landfill where you back in and empty out your junk. A large Caterpillar dozer waits nearby to make room as the need arises.A regular car load is $10 and it goes up from there.

I have so much fun at the dump legally disposing of my waste for very little money. The view was amazing. The staff helpful and interactive. the most amazing part of my journey to the landfill was the fact that they had a spotless bathroom with soap. Yes there is a public place in America that's allowing you to use the bathroom it's the dump! they also washed off our car on the way out to protect the environment I thought that was kind of cool we went through a truck wash.

The staff were super friendly and helpful. It only cost me ten dollars to get rid of an old vacuum, 2 broken lamps, and an end table. I would totally use this place again.

Long wait to get in. Employees are rude. Signs and directive on where to go to dump is terrible. Got charged an extra $25 for having an uncovered load…but, how would I possibly know that was a new law unless I go to the dump to find that out? Employees didn’t care…they charged me the $25 anyway like the good little sheep they are.

Charged $45 just to dump a couple sections of old fencing. Online pricing of 11/30/20 said $25 of an uncovered load. They don’t show you pricing anywhere on site then hold you robbery at the scales. I feel taken advantage of. Also number online isn’t right, so you can’t even call to get the prices.

Weird to give a dump a 5-star review but hey, they do their job well! Used to stink really bad when I was a kid, don't know what they've done but that's almost completely gone. Access is always easy, don't think I've ever had to wait for more than two trucks. Very polite staff, reasonable rates, accurate scales, and clear signage. As far as dumps go, this one is great.

Never have I had to use these services very often but Id go back just for fun. The guy at the front, he is great, nice personality, excellent attitude. The guys that take your ticket and tell you where to go, no complaints either, and some of them are great to look at. All around, I thought going to the dump was gonna be miserable, thanks to all those men out there making it not so miserable.

Don't go there to dispose of your batteries and fluorescent bulbs. It is an industrial setting 20 miles from my house, with long line of dump trucks and trailers waiting to enter. They force everyone to drive thru the scales, thus the line. There are no signs as you enter, so must know to stay in the far left lane. Took 30 min to get in. When I left, trucks were backed up 1/4 mile along Kiefer Blvd to enter. The e-waste guy said usually a 1 hr wait. The e-waste is just a little shed. They check your driver's license there, so competent management would have signs directing you there, bypassing the scales. They should fire the manager, and you should vote your County Supervisor out of office for this bizarre plan. I doubt they collect even 0.01% of the batteries and bulbs. Until then, just toss your batteries and bulbs in your waste bin, as most people apparently do. If you really care, put them in a marked bag in your recycle bin and let them deal with it competently. They could simply run a once/year battery/bulb curb collection, e-mailing residents to place a labelled box at the curb, but that would be intelligent and respect resident's time and money. I had a 10 yr collection to dispose of properly, but Sacramento County can't manage intelligently.

I went to Kiefer landfill today and untarped my load 100 feet down the road from the entrance and was told when I came in that I would be charged an extra $25 for not having a tarp on my load. I had one branch in the bottom of my trailer that had two refrigerators sitting on it. The piece of paper on the front window says any untarped/unsecured loads will be charged an extra $25, I have came to this landfill at least 300 times this year being that I am a local business owner with a Hauling company. I have had dozens of similar loads and untarped down the road the same way I did today and even though nobody has ever said anything in person the lady at the front window was incredibly rude and told me that I have been told dozens of times which I have not and explained to her that I have not. She said that they are tired of warning people and I explain to her that not only do I have a 4 foot deep trailer that is secured by two refrigerators on top of the branch and there is no physical way it could’ve came out even if it wasn’t secured, but that I actually had a tarp up until I was 100 feet away from the entrance. It didn’t matter, she told me I would still be charged an additional $25. I guess working at the front window of a landfill doesn’t make much money so maybe she was trying to feel like she had a little bit of authority.

I having been coming here for years. Unfortunately I have seen it continue to go down hill. Prices keep going up as well as the lines. Today (11/2021) was the worst I've seen yet, and it's a Monday morning. I'm not going to pay more AND sit in a line like this. There are plenty of other options in Sac County.

If you have extra trash that cant go out with the weekly pickup, they will take it all for 10$. The longest part of the experience is driving up the hill, other than that, its up to me to unload my truck of trash bags. Super easy and fast. I have no experience with the recycling part as of yet.

I do not understand how this place has 4.2 stars. I use them A LOT. Every time I go there the line is backed up and down Kiefer Blvd. Once I get past the weigh scales and approach the dumping area, there is another long line. With all this space why are the public and commercial vehicles in the same line? Seems as if they don’t care to be more efficient here. At least at North Area Recovery Station (which is the same company) they will bring out a person onto the scales to wave people on and do payments. At Kiefer Landfill they could care less if people need to be in and out. The guys directing at the dump area seem to have an attitude being very condescending. SOME OF THEM. NOT ALL OF THEM. Bottom line, they need someone else running the show here. There are two good things I can say about this place. One, the staff at the scales are nice and two, the fees are the cheapest. To be honest, I’d pay more for better service.

Best prices in Sacramento! many items can be dumped free. No one seemed rude or anything. Nothing special, but then again its a dump, so I'd say it was just right. and a fancy spray machine to wash off dirt before exiting.

I understand that the weekend with naturally be busier due to people being off work. But the staff here needs to recognize that as well. They have three (3) windows that can be utilized yet they never are. I heard "staffing issues" one time, yet I saw a group of 8 employees BSing at the top of the hill. You can't tell me you can't spare a body.

I brought old paint to be disposed of and they would only take some of it? No explanation by an extremely rude employee. He said take it somewhere else and ignored my questions. I tried to do my part to keep paint out of the landfill but in the trashcan it goes!

I got in and out quickly and they are open on Sunday. 2 stars though due to it costing 35 dollars for a small truck bed of tree limbs. No wonder why people dump out on the streets.

Had a pleasant experience at the Kiefer Landfill. This place is clean, professional, and the staff are friendly and very helpful. This is a well run operation and the next time I need to dispose of a lot of waste, I know just where I’ll be heading!

on a Friday afternoon you got one person working both sides in the lane with commercial trucks is backed up almost a half a mile out and inside facility. there's 25 people Milling around in the inside the outside of the buildings with one person working the cash register for the money is being made not too smart in my opinion.

This place is great. The staff is very helpful and friendly. As far as landfills go this is the best! You drive up to the scale house they let you know where to go and the signage is great and easy to follow! In and out!
