If you like a bit if a rustic vibe theme when you travel, this place is not to be missed. Not only is there a real trout pond to complement the view. The rooms and a few with basic kitchens. being very close to the PCT this place makes a convenient spot for a layover. The diners are hearty with a full bar. For me the only faux pas, was the key to our room did not work and was not able to be fixed during our stay

Sierra Pines was a 5-star experience, hands down! Located in a beautiful town with epic MTB trails, they offer cozy and dog-friendly cabin rooms - with hot shower and comfortable linens - that face the breathtaking Yuba river. Enjoy sleeping with the sound of the river flowing nearby. We checked out their bar at night and the warmth and local hospitality was delightful! On top of all that, the cocktails are artfully crafted and made with pride. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience and all the great local tips! These place is on top of our list for when we come back next year!

Beautiful lodge with restaurant/bar and a trout pond on the river underneath Sierra Buttes. It's a center of activity in a remote area and is accessible to all of the regions features: lakes basin, Yuba River, high Sierra. Cindy and Glen, the owners, provide personalized care for their guests. Highly recommended if you're in the area. My son (5 years old) and I loved our vacation!

This is a lovely resort with rooms and a restaurant. The active local owners do a great job. Their dinner menu had a traditional as well as a few excellent plant based choices. They have a full bar with inside and outside seating. There is a trout pool where their menu trout awaits your pleasure, so to speak. A diner next to me had a trout platter, her server skillfully prepared the fish at her table. Very impressive. Another local diner noted while talking at a local watering hole, that their pork chops were Excellent. The hotel has 22 rooms, 10 by the river. They looked basic, modular construction, clean and well maintained. I don't know their pricing. I enjoyed my two meals here and recommend the resort to you. A return visit in June of 2023, reinforcements my experience last summer.

We recently had our wedding, of 25 people, at Sierra Pines Resort. I can go on about how beautiful the spot for the ceremony was down on the Yuba River, the peacefulness of pond, dining area and meadow. How wonderful the rooms are, so peaceful and quite. How great the food and drinks are. But what really stuck with me was Cindy and Glenn and the rest of the staff. They went above and beyond during our wedding week and wedding day. Our guests were even quick to notice how helpful and delightful everyone was. Cindy and Glenn had everything so organized all the way up to the big day. I never once felt stressed or any lack in communication. The day of our wedding was a bad weather day, but you wouldn’t have known the way they regrouped and came up with a new plan. So fluidly, you couldn’t tell plans had changed at all. Everyone truly worked together and made the day simply, amazing. Thank you Cindy and Glenn and staff for everything you did for us. And if you’re looking for an adorable, peaceful resort for your wedding with a lot of local beauty and hiking and biking, this is your spot.

Basic rooms with nothing fancy, but the price you pay reflects this as it’s pretty affordable. One of the door locks did not work properly and the beds have seen better days. Despite the minor issues, it was a nice little stop on our trip through the Sierras. The resort is dog friendly and the meadow across the street is a great spot to let them run. The parking is pretty hilly and could be challenging for people with mobility issues. Food in the restaurant as pretty good.

I’ve stayed here with friends, with family, and on a solo trip and each time is so wonderful. The rooms are spotless, and comfy, nothing fancy but it adds to the mountain experience. I love eating dinner and having drinks in the restaurant. There is something so old fashioned about the whole experience that is very pleasurable. Sometimes we catch trout and cook it up in the grill in the meadow while the kids play lawn games. We always get a river view room so we can enjoy the sounds of the river while waking up and falling asleep. Can’t wait to return soon!

We discovered the Sierra Pines resort in 2018 and just completed our 6th visit. Although ownership changed in 2019, the resort is still just as amazing as ever. The view of the buttes, lovely meadow, view of the falls from the balcony, the property overall and swimming hole, and comfortable rooms make this my "happy place". The bar and restaurant continue to be very busy so reservations are recommended, and well worth the effort to get a good meal onsite. The small improvements that have been made and generosity of Glen and Cindy are appreciated. I highly recommend this place if you want a quiet place to relax and recharge, hike around the beautiful nature that surrounds it, and just generally enjoy life.

Do you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of life and trade it for a relaxing experience amid beautiful and pristine surroundings? Then Sierra Pines Resort is the perfect get-away place for you. The owners, Cindy and Glen, take great pride in making your stay a very memorable experience. The resort is situated along the Yuba River. The rooms are rustic, clean, and well appointed. The on-site restaurant is phenomenal---an experience you do not want to miss. The menu, both breakfast and dinner, offers a huge selection of delicious items, portions are ample, and the service is excellent. I recommend you order the fresh rainbow trout---the cook catches it daily from the on-grounds trout pond. To enhance your dinning experience you will find a full service bar. I was particularly impressed with their wine list which offered many premium wines. The resort is in close proximity to many hiking and mountain biking trails. Also, there are many lakes for the anglers in your group who might want to try their luck at fishing. Best of all, this fantastic resort is a very easy drive from the Bay Area.

Highly recommend Sierra Pines Resort! I hosted my sisters bachelorette party in town for the weekend. I called Sierra Pines and they were happy to host the large group of us. For dinner we had a delicious taco bar, and blended strawberry margaritas! Everything was SO yummy, and so well prepared. I can’t forget to mention the beautiful pond to take pictures by!We will definitely be returning! Thank you for such a lovely evening!

If you're looking for a relaxing getaway, this is it. Glen and Cindy are very welcoming and friendly and go the extra mile to make you feel like family. The resort is beautiful and our room looks over the river. The food is excellent as well, especially when paired with one of their cocktails (I prefer Cindy's Cosmo). Dining in the restaurant or out by the trout pound makes for a very relaxing evening. The resort is also perfectly located to be a hub to explore the local area. Downieville, the Sierra Buttes, and several lakes and trails are just a short drive. I love coming here and I will be back just as soon as I can. Me and my wife couldn't have been happier with our stay here.

My Hubby and I have stayed at the Sierra Pines resort three times in the last fifteen years (kids!). Each visit has always been peaceful, quiet and wonderful. The restaurant, waitstaff, and owners have always been terrific. The ambiance has always been enjoyable. I don’t like ‘fussy’, and this place is perfect. Clean and comfy! The owner helped me figure out the TV, User error! 😆. I know we will be back! They allow dogs, but our’s is pretty barky, so I passed on that. Lots of dogs, traveling backpackers, campers - catching a meal, a Grandpa and grandson fishing for a trout in their trout pond. All glorious! I love places that I can count on, I hope this continues for a very long time!! Thank you Sierra Pines Resort!

This resort is such a wonderful gem in Sierra City, with cozy rooms and gorgeous views of the Buttes! We loved our room with a view of the North Yuba River and the changing Fall colors. We could even hear the water rushing at night! The lodge where dinner is served is so cozy, and we even had a spot near the fire. It was a great weekend trip and I highly recommend a stay here in October. Also, the owners are really friendly and nice!

Absolutely one of my most favorite places to stay in Sierra City Ca! Every body here is wonderful! Thank.you so muchCindy, Joanne, and Glen, for making our stay always special and memorable! We always look forward to staying here! This is one the most unique historic resorts that we have been to in California, there is a"150 year old-Cherry Tree" that is growing from inside the dinning room and through the roof! It was planted on the original homestead from the the mid- 1800s and still produces plenty of yummy cherries!, and they also have a beautiful one of a kind "Trout" pond that you can fish, and when you catch one, they will prepare it for your breakfast, Lunch or Dinner!

We had a great meal at Sierra Pines Resort formerly known to the locals as Harringtons Sierra Pines Resort. We sat outside next to their trout pond early one evening with a view of the Sierra Buttes. We were greeted by the owner and we asked if we could sit outside and it was no problem even though our reservation was put on a different day....No big deal. From the greeting by the owner to the server being friendly to our great food...the entire experience was well worth the drive over Gold Lake Rd. from the direction of Graegle. Two of us had ribeye steaks that were cooked to order, grilled brussel sprouts and baked potatoes. My wife had sirloin tips in a gravy with a side of vegetable medley. Desert was molten brownies with vanilla ice cream.Just a pleasant setting, meal, owners, and staff. We highly recommend the restaurant.Next time we will need to go there to stay a night overlooking the Yuba River.

We stayed at the property in July 2020. Just looking for somewhere to "get away" for a couple of days. Sierra Pines is lovely. Peaceful and relaxing. The new owners are hands-on and seem very interested in making your stay a pleasant experience. They and the entire staff are friendly, attentive and handling the covid-19 situation with utmost care. The room was comfortable. We had a beautiful view of the North Fork Yuba River and a waterfall from our room and balcony. The food was delicious. I had perhaps the biggest rib-eye steak I've ever had and it was very good, I also had a cod dish that I would recommend to anyone that likes fish and seafood. The outside dining was wonderful, the view of the Sierra Buttes and the large meadow across the highway, the sound of water, the fresh, warm mountain air. It was amazing. My wife and I eat outdoors whenever possible (pandemic and before). This was one of the best dining experiences we've had in a long time.We definitely plan to return to this wonderful inn.

I've never had such a peaceful, romantic relaxed time - but sleeping in a cabin on the river with a fancy restaurant & country drives was FANTASTIC.We love this place & book it regularly for our private holidays together. The lakes near & around have great fishing. The folks are sweet ,helpful & you may order from your room & take food to your cabin & they will pick it up when you leave. Although we took ours back. The food was also very delicious and sophisticated but not over priced. All in all one of our best places

Amazing breakfast today! Enjoyed the peace and calm of this rustic mountain-luxury resort. This is our 5th time eating here, and every time it gets better! Had to go for a weekend brunch this time. Hubby had bacon and eggs, and our son and I had omelette stuffed with fresh veggies and topped with cheese and avocado. My favorite thing is the setting here. Take a peak across the river if you're invited down on the lower part of the resort property. They have a view of a beautiful hidden waterfall! Magical place.

Cindy & Glen are the proprietors of this wonderful resort. It is charming in a rustic manner. Nestled on the banks of the Yuba River in full view of the majestic Sierra Buttes. There are a variety of accommodations to choose from, private rooms, kitchenettes, to an Airstream trailer. What is so special about this establishment is their fine dining, in a remote area. We were lucky to have a breakfast and dinner there, both were exceptional, with friendly knowledgable staff and an excellent chef who turned out tasty meals. There are activities to do at the resort, or you can just relax by their trout pond. They have an expansive property where you can self BBQ, play corn hole , or just relax and view their waterfall. This remote area of CA is a hikers mecca, plenty of trails to keep you busy. We spent 5 days/4 nights there and can't wait to return in 2023. Thank you, Cindy and Glen for a memorable and enchanting stay.

We were staying close by and ate at the restaurant multiple times, breakfasts and dinners. What makes this place unique is the trout pond right in front. Trout is their signature dish and you can get for every meal. They also have fishing rods for rent and you can catch your own trout. We also asked to see the rooms, for the future and they have great accommodations. They are dog friendly and we definitely will try to stay there next time we are in the area.

Usually it's really good, but we had to wait a very long time for our food (45min)? When I got my angel hair pesto pasta, there was only like one pine nut in it and it was drenched in pesto. The bottom of the bowl was a puddle of green food coloring (pesto mess). I've ordered it twice before and it was great. Not sure who the cook was on 5-15-2021? I will return, owners and staff are very nice, must of been off there opening day?
