Doctor Lydon is wonderful. He takes time to get to know your fur baby. He has compassion and isn't in a hurry to get you in and out the door. He gives you time to voice any concerns about your pet and answers any questions you may have. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and also show affection to your pet. I'm very happy I was referred to Shingletown Vet and don't mind driving half an hour knowing that my pup is getting the best care.

I know this is a review, but I would like to start off by saying thank you to the staff at Shingletown Animal Clinic.I called and spoke to a nice lady on the phone, and we were able to get a next day appointment for our very sick cat. The vet and the staff are very kind and friendly people. Our cat was treated with gentleness, patience, and compassion. The vet took his time explaining and talking with me, which I very much appreciated. I never felt rushed. They only did what was needed, necessary, and never tried to rack up a bill. The prices were fair, and I feel like we received the best care during both visits. Our dear cat is already on his way to making a full recovery, and the difference in him is night and day in just one evening. Our 3 dogs, 2 cats, and any future pets will always come to this clinic.Thanks again guys. Your community appreciates the love and care you give to our beloved animals.

This feels very conflicting writing this, as I have been in several times with my boyfriend (for his pup) and the services provided were top notch. I fell in love with the small town feeling and how intimate it felt. I took such a liking, that I considered to make the switch for all four of my animals from their primary doctor to Shingletown Vet.That being said--here are my new-found qualms.I came home from work a little over a week ago and noticed that one of my cats had a limp and was favoring one of his paws. I googled it and decided to give him a couple days, as he didn't seem to be in lots of pain, with it potentially being a simple sprain.2-3 days later, he was favoring the paw still. I then decided that it was time to officially make the switch. I called Shingletown Vet and gave them the details, and they said that they could get me in within a few days. However, they required a fifty dollar deposit due to being a new patient, and I had no problem with that. They noted that if I cancelled before 24 hours for some reason, they would happily return the deposit, but anytime after, they would not. Totally understandable. I relayed that to my boyfriend and he was confused because they never required that from him, but it's just fifty bucks and it's going towards the visit itself. I was very much looking forward to becoming a new client, so it was whatever to me. Maybe it's something they just started doing? No big deal.The day of the appointment comes and I get a call that morning stating that their doctor is sick, and has to leave early for the day, resulting into scheduling a new appointment. The soonest they could get me in was today (Monday) and my appointment originally fell on last Thursday. I was slightly peeved, yes, but I also work with the public and I am well aware that things just sometimes happen. Mistakenly, I chose to continue and put not only my trust, but the well-being of my animal into their hands.Today comes and I give them a call to make sure that I am not mixing up the appointment time with the original appointment. The receptionist asks for my last name and then tells me that I am not on the schedule? She then asks to put me on a brief hold. Once the hold was over, she gets back on the line, saying that not only is the doctor still out sick, but that they are no longer taking new patients at this time, and the soonest they could get us in would be WEEKS from now. She then suggests that I go elsewhere. However, on the bright side (unbeknownst to me), they already returned my security deposit to my checking account days prior. Wow.I paused, very confused and feeling much frustration, but collected myself. I asked her why they re-scheduled my appointment from the start and reassured me that we would be seen, and for some reason now we are being turned away and told to go elsewhere. She apologized, repeated herself and gave me the same explanation. "Our doctor is sick and we have too many appointments to take on new clients." ????None of this explains as to why she didn't tell that the doctor was supposedly still out as soon as she picked up the phone. All I was told was that I was not on the schedule, when they scheduled me themselves? None of this explains why I wasn't shown on the schedule from the start? Nor does any of this make up for their lack of communication in terms of services provided and when it comes to also tossing my money back and fourth. Most importantly, none of this is at all fair to my cat that I have had stuck in the house while we wait to be seen.Highly disappointed and I will not be referring anyone that I know to them from here on out. I'm sure they do more than fine, but they just lost my respect and not one, not two, not three, but four new clients.I am leaving 2 stars because I have seen how well they do with Mable (my boyfriend's dog) versus 1. I'm sure that he will continue to go there. I just hope that they continue to treat them well!

This is a five star clinic if you can get your ailing pets to this clinic no matter the outcome you will know the absolute best care that you could find to provide for you pets was achieved . Dr lydon and his staff are one of if not the best care your pet and you will get .thnk you so much everyone at shingletown animal clinic

They took my baby in that is 11 years old and saved her she is a Beagle basset hound they were very friendly and very educated on the situation made it very easy to do business with kind people would definitely recommend them

The staff are kind and professional, the Doctor is very compassionate and the animals seem to love him. The services are reasonably priced. I did have a small wait after my scheduled time to see the Doctor of about 20 minutes but I was seen by a Vet tech on time and the practice is busy so the wait was understandable. There was a small charge for using a CC as payment so I would recommend paying another way if you want to avoid a nominal fee. Overall a very pleasant experience.

It’s hard to find a good, caring, and reasonable vet these days and Shingletown vet checks all the boxes. I will not go anywhere else in redding, save yourself and your pet and make the drive to Shingletown!

These folks are the best. Took my girls in for a annual check up, shots and to be spayed. It was the night after a snow storm. They showed up tredging through snow to get the doors open. Took care of my girls that day. I picked them up the same day with plenty of information provided to me for their care. Price was more than reasonable. The follow up suture removal was also on time even without power. They have the care of my girls from here on! Thank you staff

Very kind and amazing staff! They handle your pet with love and care and treat them as if they were their own. Also cheapest in the county. Took our little kitty there to get spayed today and the staff fell in love with her 😊 they answer any questions you have and truly care about your animals. We will definitely be going back there for any of our fur babies needs. Thank you guys for being so awesome and genuine!

I cannot recommend this vet enough! Our dog has had to get a few procedures done here. This vet is everything you'd hope for: honest, affordable, caring, and professional. We have had the best experience here. We were charged less than quoted one time and another time we were surprised by a complimentary teeth cleaning. This vet really cares and business for them is high... but don't let that sway you. It is high for good reason, because they actually care here! Not like the big company owned clinics that only care about $$$. I give this place an easy AAA+++!

I love this vet clinic. Dr. Lydon is so caring and thorough. He spent a lot of time examining my dog and cat, and explained the lab results and treatment options in detail. The cost of care was very reasonable.

Doc Lydon, Jana, and all the crew have cared for our animals since they started. Doc even made a house call here once before he opened the clinic in Shingletown. The care, compassion, and expertise are without equal. How many vets are your pets HAPPY to see? These folks are like family to us. Can't recommend them more highly.

Took cat in for shots/check up. Cost $200.+. But, effecient, got worm & flea meds. Follow up in another week for 2nd leukemia shot. Saw a couple people I knew. Busy at 9am. Lots of dogs. Just 1 other cat.

I absolutely love this vet office. The entire family and staff are very friendly and helpful. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Rob. I moved and now travel 45 minutes to this vet when my dog Bailey needs to be seen. Dr. Rob removed a wart growth off the inside of her eyelid that was obstructing her eyeball and extracted a broken molar she had in the same day and she healed up perfectly and I can't see at all where her incision site was on her lid it looks perfect! He also examined her recently after I noticed some limping after a hike and she's getting old dog arthritis and inflamed shoulders and we came up with a good treatment plan to start with and skipped any X-rays / costly imaging that's not necessary. He definitely has you and your pets best interest in mind. ❤️

It's been a long time since any of my cats seen a vet. Nevertheless, I wanted to update my review. Dr. Rob and crew are top notch. I remember one time I had to go to a redding vet...a MISTAKE ETCHED in my head. Total opposite of great care and knowledge when it comes to vetting animals. Shingletown vawt is the premier place to go. They are family. Country to the bone ")
