Little local family ran cafe in Shingle Springs, right off Highway 50’s exit of Ponderosa Road. They serve up breakfast and lunch. The menu contains American cuisine, but they also have European Croatian specialities. The specialities are crepes (that have sweet and savory ones), goulash, schnitzel, spaetzle, paprikash, cevapi, Croatian burger, and sarma (stuffed cabbage). The sarma is not available daily. So if you’re hankering for that, you may want to call ahead. They even have a wine list of Croatian imported wines.I usually make it here for breakfast. My favorite breakfast items are the Funky Monkey, Traditional Eggs Benedict, and American Classic. The Funky Monkey pancakes are hearty and fluffy. I get those when I’m in a mood for something sweet and decadent. The eggs benedict hollandaise is not bad, pretty tasty. The eggs are always perfectly poached for that oozey egg piercing. The classic … well is a classic. I always add bacon to the classic and ask for it to be cooked less crisp. The bacon there is served very well done. Hubs enjoys it like that though.

If you’re looking for a great breakfast, look no further than CT European Cafe & Grill! Small town hospitality meets international cuisine. From mimosas and lattes to Benedict’s and Goulash, there is a treat for everyone in the family! I enjoyed the crab Benedict on a crepe instead of an English muffin. (Perfectly poached egg) It was light and packed with flavor! Whether you’re looking to try something new or stick with the tried and true, this is a must visit.

Good breakfast place. Although I saw as we were going in that they serve dinner every Friday, Saturday and Sunday too.Parking is ample, but when we came in at 1030AM on a Saturday, Hubby had to wait a few mins for a spot. When we went in, we got seated right away. Yelp says that this restaurant take reservation though. There's music playing in the background, but the noise from other customers were drowning it. No biggie, we came here for breakfast and not music.Menu has a lot of choices: Alcoholic cocktails (Mimosas, Sangria, Bloody Mary), Coffee, Breakfast food (Benedicts, Crepes - savory and sweet, omelettes, egg scambles,We ordered: Cafe Mocha, Pomegranate & Mango Mimosa, Salmon Benedict on Crepe, Denver Scramble, Chicken Pesto Crepe, Nutella and Creamy Delight Sweet Crepes. We waited about 25mins for the food to be served, kinda very long wait, but it did say in the menu that "All food is prepared fresh to order and please allow 20 to 30 minutes to be prepared".When the food came, it was worth the wait.Mocha - perfectly made, (not too sweet),and we had options for almond or oat for the milk.Pomegrante & Mango Mimosa - happy with it too, but the alcohol in it was kinda very light.Salmon Benedict - a lot of Salmon on it. Hollandaise sauce tasted ok, poached eggs were perfect. But what made it a bomb was the option of the Crepe instead of English muffin.Denver Scramble - tasted ok. Nothing SpecialChicken Pesto savory crepe - I didn't get to taste this. But Hubby says chicken was kinda dryNutella and Creamy Delight (Sweet Crepes) - were perfect. The Creamy Delight have a lot of fruits (strawberry and blueberries) in it. Tasted light and not too sweet, but very flavorful.Service: Excellent. The server was very attentive and checked with us more than 5x while we were there. This restaurant is suited for families. Clean, delicious food, appealing atmosphere, helpful staff, and brilliant service are just a few reasons that I'll be back again.

A great hidden gem in Shingle springs! They serve great lattes (I enjoyed the London fog latte) lots of different dishes to choose from- something for everyone! I LOVE eggs Benedict but being gluten free, I have to limit them. They offer a gluten free crepe you could do instead of an English muffin and it was Devine! I prefer the crepe over the English muffin. They had perfectly poached the eggs too. Service was great and so friendly! Highly recommend for breakfast. I will need to come back and try dinner.

What a hidden gem. Delicious food and an expansive menu that you'll want to come back to explore. The understated location and name don't do this place justice. The food was delicious, service was great and outdoor seating that was pet-friendly was refreshing on a warm summer day. We had the country-fried chicken, California crepe and the plain one sweet crepe. The spice on the gravy was spot-on, portions were plentiful, ingredients fresh, and a wide variety of sweet and savory options to please herbivores and carnivores alike. Look forward to trying their European specialties for dinner or lunch.

Avoid going here at all costs!!My family and I have been wanting to try this cafe for a while now and today was the day! We went and sat down and while we were there, we saw the terrible way the ‘owner’ was treating everyone. Yelling at staff, being rude to customers, the whole 9. It got to the point where I no longer felt comfortable having my daughters around this negative energy, so we gladly left and will never be returning.I would not recommend anyone support this café. Having a bad day or not, I don’t care. Owners should never be acting the way she did today. It’s childish, rude, and embarrassing.Owner, if you’re reading this. Go get the help you need. Leave your negative energy at the door when you come to work. This is how businesses are shut down and owners are left in debt.Workers of this cafe, look for another job you did not by any means deserve the way you were treated today by her. It’s sad to see such a beautiful café be ruined by such a terrible attitude. I do not recommend anyone support this business. There is another café in the same parking lot which was a lot better and was very nice. I spoke to the worker at the other café and expressed my disappointment. The worker did mention I was not the first one to experience this.Absolutely shameful.

Salmon and shrimp crepe with tomatoes and spinach. Husband had biscuits and gravy, they were good too. Good food, nice atmosphere. I'm half Czech so it felt very homey and familiar for me.

My wife and I discovered this restaurant several days ago when we went there for breakfast. The service and food were outstanding. Our server suggested the Creamy Delight crepe. We both had one, and her suggestion was perfect, although it may not have been the healthiest breakfast for two old folks. On Sunday we decided to go back for lunch. The restaurant was busy, but we were seated right away, and the server took our order. My wife ordered pork schnitzel and I had the chicken schnitzel. Our meal preparation took a little longer than usual due to the number of people in the restaurant, but the food was well worth the wait. Our meals were delicious! I also enjoyed an excellent bloody mary.

Sunday, 10/15/2013 - We wew in the Shingle Springs area and decided to try CT European Cafe & Grill for lunch. Address is 4064 Mother Lode Dr, Shingle Springs, CA 95682. They are open 8am to 3pm. Located close to HWY 50E. Parking in the front is small. But when we arrived, there were plenty of parking spots. Restaurant was very quiet. I only saw 3 people working. Upon arrival....Pros:1) they have seating inside and outside restaurant.2) there is alcohol, sodas, coffee, water if you want to drink.3) water tasted good. No metal or funky taste.4) table, chairs, utensils, plates, cups all looked clean.5) the lady who took our orders was the same person who served us and cleaned the table. She's very nice. Her mom worked there too and she is just as sweet.6) Foods were all delicious!!! Biscuits were nice and soft, gravy perfect, & eggs cooked perfectly over-medium. Crab cake Benedict was delicious! Crab cake actually is crabby and yummy! Eggs perfect, hollandaise sauce perfect. I had it with crepe and it was good. Hashbrown were perfectly cooked! Crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. Kids chicken alfredo was good. Fettuccine Alfredo was $11.00 & we added chicken for $4.00 for our little one. Chicken was juicy and the fish itself was great. Nutella crepe is $11.00 and we added strawberry to it for $2.00.7) bathroom clean.Cons1) we sat in the outside patio. I think they may have forgotten we were out there. Cus we sat out there for quite some time. I had to let the mother know we were ready to order and was wondering when someone will come help us. Lol. She went and got her daughter.2)ConclusionWe are really glad we found this restaurant. It was pretty good. Staffs were very friendly and professional. Restaurant was clean. Menu said to please give them about 20 to 30 minutes to make your food cus everything is made fresh. It really is! Even the whip cream on the dessert crepe is not from a bottle. You sure can tell. And it was good! Try this place if you haven't yet. It's pretty good and we like it!

Fully loaded omelet with seasoned country potatoes and the biscuits and gravy with Italian sausage it's to die for. The best breakfast I've had in a while. Definetly worth the trip.

Like the other reviews mention, this is a hidden gem. Great service & food. Shout out to Nina, our server, when above & beyond, and has a great personality. I often have a food mood which dictates where I eat out. This place has a diverse menu which would suit may of my “food moods”. That will make it easy to come back! I’ve gotta work through the whole menu! Highly recommend this place.
