I recently tent camped and fished at Wishon for a total of nine days. I was treated to a wonderful Four hours of fishing on the Wishon Village RV Pontoon boat where Gordon was at the controls the entire four hours. Gordon Kent is part of the Wishon Village staff. He was excellent in providing me with a wonderful experience of fishing! He was very friendly and very helpful in providing me with new fishing skills. Wishon Village has great staff that go out of their way to help make your vacation at Wishon Village a memorable experience. I have spent over 25 years vacationing at the Village in our travel trailer and camped in a tent with many fond memories! I would recommend visiting this family owned RV Park and Campground.

Great place for rather senior ppl if you prefer to spend time on the camping. Showers smell clean but appear not so encouragingly. The biggest downside are wasps (yellow jackets) - it’s a plaque! Impossible to eat outside.Lake is around half hour walk (take more time if with kids) form camping walking on a main road. The trail through a forest is not the easiest one (you need to follow some piles of stones that show a way) and leaves you not at the lake but at some private parking. Lake is not really to swim in (too cold) and the beach doesn’t exist (only rocks). Not much to do in the area. Be careful for the rattlesnakes!! Listen close they can hide on the side of the road while you walk to the lake.Plus for the store - quite well equipped (butter, frozen food, snacks). Staff is very friendly !!!

the campground was nice and we'll kept, we had a pretty spot that was shady most of the day and back to the woods. the people in the store were nice and helpful and answered the phone when we couldn't quite find our way getting lost seemed like 5 times. seriously folks don't listen to your GPS. If you're on McKinley just keep driving you'll find it. Even if your GPS says it was five miles behind you. Yes sure like any other Campground you can hear the neighbors play their TVs too loud and The kids screaming across the campground. I didn't care for the plague of wasps that keeps you from eating anything outside. our next door neighbor for some ungodly reason thought it was the thing to do to burn a full massive campfire literally all day everyday and late into the night every night and it's 90 freaking degrees. not to mention we had to keep our windows closed the whole time because he kept us smoked out. obviously somebody who lived there since he had a literal 6 foot high wall of wood cut that was 10 feet long. lastly..even though this is near the Wishon reservoir don't plan on spending any time at the lake unless you have a boat. And getting in the lake is a nightmare, to steep and rocky, you'll end up going to one of the other lakes like Courtright. everything is far away.

Although the place looked great, clean and maintained, and close to Wishon Reservoir... I could not stay because I was only staying one night, "No Saturday Departure Rule😔" - note taken for next time.Well I made the best of it and stayed at Courtright, 5 ⭐ to their facilities... Thanks

Nice camp ground privately owned. This is update from my last review. We had a much better time this visit. I guess it depends which type of crowd you have. No car alarms going off in the middle of the night. And parents were good about controlling their kids. Can't say anything about the rooms because we always take our tent.Nearby activities: Lake fishing if you have a boat. Not much shoreline to fish from.

This place was fantastic. It's tucked up in the Sierras with access to a few great trails right from the campsite. The sites are spaced out enough for privacy amongst your camp but close enough for gatherings if you have groups. Some sites have raised wooden platforms to setup your tent which keeps you off the ground which was nice. You can drive a car through the camp sites to get to your space. It's dirt and bumpy but not so rough that you would need a truck. The staff at the store were very friendly and helpful. The bathrooms/shower were clean and the water gets HOT! Definitely good for showering after a long day. The site was clean and quiet after quiet hours. Beautiful views all around. Wishon Reservoir/Dam is around the corner (1mi give or take) which is good for fishing, star gazing, swimming, and/or boating. I definitely will be visiting again.

Been going up Here for about 35 years since I was a baby 3 yr in A row The bathrooms are closed at the lower part And now you have keypads and what not That's kind of ridiculous to get into the bathrooms on the upper park Is where the tent campers are And now it's only for guest only Nobody can come and use the restrooms now when they work Not cool The old manager's ran the park better just saying And you guys need to open back up the bar it's not gonna hurt nothing All that's going to do is put more money in your guys's pockets And you're so called reck room Always closed At least open it up or make your store bigger And somebody shot my r v with a pellet gun or air soft gun the last past weekend And it's kind of scary you guys had consultants up there What's really going on

Good place to stay because you can explore around ,go to the lake ,trail hiking, has showers, clean restrooms, also you can find almost everything in the store if you forgot something from.seasonings to air mattresses,we stay in a tent place so NO MUSIC ALLOWED(keep wondering if also applies to the rv section, thats why not 5 stars) if not ,that's a bad thing, also the platforms needs some fixing, but overall, was a good experienceNearby activities: Fishing, trails, boat rental, swiming

It's OK. Decent facilities, surprisingly nice and well stocked store, and nice people but it seemed cramped on the RV side. For such a beautiful area it feels too much like any other trailer park and doesn't feel as much of a place to enjoy the mountain/nature experience as I'd hoped and am used to.The nearby area is beautiful but you need to be able to travel away from the park to experience it.There's no real view other than other RVs, not much by way of trails and not much privacy. For example, on one evening as we sat by the campfire we could see and hear the TV shows/movies playing on the TVs in the RVs in the sites next to us on both sides to the point that our kids were distracted and singing along with Aladdin movie playing on one clearly visible TV inside an RV. Not exactly what we came up to the mountains for.

Yeah I stayed here. Totally weak wifi but that's OK when you have amazing views close by. Bathrooms are a bit cramped, but worked and appeared clean. Decent store with nice people. 10/10 would stay again.

Beautiful location, they have water faucets at each campsite which is great for dishes, washing hands, etc. They have flushing toilets and lights all night in the bathrooms which is much appreciated. However, the tents are on a wooden platform so if you are someone who likes to stake your tent down (as usually we all do) you won't be able to. We were told when we made reservations that we could bring nails or they would have nails that they would give you. Our tent needs stakes as it is not free standing and forgot to bring nails, but didn't worry since they said we could get nails there. We asked for nails at the reservation office and the woman there acted like we were ridiculous for asking for them. She went to the counter of the general store and asked the clerk if she had nails and she said "No". Luckily we brought a backup tent that is freestanding. The irritating part is that they were laughing at us for asking for something that was clearly stated they had, and we walked outside for a minute and went back in and they were making fun of us for asking for nails with the customers in line. Not cool. We stayed anyway, but that was unbelievably rude. We even have a voicemail stating that they would give us nails by someone named Stephanie.

We had planned a camping trip for the weekend and as we drove up with our family our RV broke down on the mountain. We tried calling this place multiple times to inform them what was happening but nobody answered. We ended up waiting over 6 hours for a tow and it is now at a shop. It is completely blown and not able to be driven at this time. We tried calling the campground AGAIN this morning and they absolutely refused to offer any sort of refund in such a horrible situation and circumstance. We have pictures of the RV on a tow and we can even provide proof of the bill after it’s done at the shop had they wanted but they don’t care. They still charged us the full price. We will NEVER EVER camp here nor will we ever recommend this place. Emergencies happen and you would think a family friendly place would be a little more considerate.

Nice RV and tent camping. Trails, dog run, store, propane, ice, and firewood. Well maintained, with full hookups. Tent camping on raised platform. Short jaunt in vehicle to a couple of lakes, picnic area, and Redwood Tree Grove.

So beautiful up in the Sierra's! Wishon Village offers RV and tent sites. There are many hiking, rock climbing and fishing opportunities. Bring your family, rent a boat enjoy the beautiful of the lake. You may get lucky and see Bald Eagles and Osprey catching fish to feed their young.

Once again it was an amazing deer season. Now that we are retired 6 full weeks makes for a great time. Good friends, food and plenty of laughs. Thank you Chris and Katie for all you do year round for us.

We had a great time. The site was huge. Plenty of room for two vehicles a trailer and a boat. Still not crowded. Wish the bathroom and shower 30ft away was open.

My family has been camping here for about 30 years. Its a great little place with friendly people. There's two nice hiking trails leaving directly from the camp ground and two nearby lakes.

I had a bad experience that people need to know about. I switched over to this campground from another that was under developed. They we're very accommodating being we just walked up to get a site. We we're lucky that they had something even though we would have to move twice in our 5 day stay. That wasn't my issue with them I had an unexpected issue with my tow vehicle breaking down and undrivable in Oakhurst which is 91 miles by rv or 75 by car due to the road conditions. When I told them I had to leave due to my prdicament. They would not refund my last 2 nights. The lady just said it's against their policy and theyre unable to rebook the site. I told them it's prime camping season (mid July) I doubt it's not difficult to book the sites. This whole area is booked solid all summer. They claim they are not large enough to give refunds. Needless to say we won't go back ever again nor refer anyone and will do what ever I can to deter anyone from going there. Camping with your family should be a good experience and when something goes wrong on your vacation the last thing you want it for people to keep your money especially when they already received the benefit of 3 days worth of us staying with them. It's all about customer satisfaction to keep people coming back.

Our parents have visited this RV Park for several years because of the sense of community and family, not to mention the wonderful amenities including WiFi, laundry room, community events and church services. You can even order things online and get them delivered to the general store onsite! Just minutes from the lake, this RV Park is the best of the best.

Friendly, clean RV Park... with shady wide well defined sites. No cell phone service or TV, but internet kept us connected, though service slowed in the evenings during the weekend. Daily temperatures in August were mid 80's and mid 60's at night.

Venture to the edge of civilization in comfort. The Village is a favorite spot for our family when we want to retreat from the valley heat and crowds. However, this road has more curves than the Kardashian family.
