I found that this campground has super down to earth staff. Not the uptight national park type of staff. They made the trip even more enjoyable. In fact, I had a very positive experience visiting a nearby Fresno City park called "Camp Fresno". I would give Dinky Creek 5 stars except for the fact that it gets really crowded. This is an example of one of our better campgrounds in the Sierra National Forest. No wonder it's so popular. The natural beauty of the convenient day use is exceptional for the cost of $10. It sits close to the trailhead of some beautiful walkabouts. I'm glad it survived the Creek fire of 2020. Too bad we lost our historic bridge even after being rebuilt recently. What a nasty winter we just had. She supported the deep snow but the rain afterwards that got into all the crevices, froze and expanded... 🤣

Great place for family/friends camping. Cute swimming holes that can be hiked to or head to the end of the road for the day use area which has a natural water slide and more swimming holes. Toilets were super clean and camp spaces very well kept. Trees are a little scarce right now, but we had plenty of shade in our spaces. The store and pay showers are convenient for anyone not really into the roughing it kind of camping. Would definitely do another "family" camping trip.

I really like this place. However, it looks like tree mortality has been an issue and many tree have been cut down. This has cut down on the privacy a bit and there are lots of huge piles of wood. The good news is fishing in the creek is still great and there is no need to buy firewood because scavenging is encouraged.

The campground itself is nice, just overcrowded. If you're looking for quiet, serenity, or something along those lines, summer may not be the right time. Beautiful area if you hike up creek a ways.

Love this place! So many waterfalls and creeks to go to. The only downfall is the showers are far.

Love it there. Great for visiting 3 National Parks if you don't mind a long day trip. Yosemite, Kings Canyon and The Giants of Sequoia .

Sierra National Forest and specifically Dinkey Creek area is beautiful. The Dinkey Creek camper ground on the other hand was not so much; it was overcrowded. Many sites had multiple vehicles, tents, awnings, and people. This is not bad in and of itself, but if you're looking to experience the peace and quiet of nature, this probably isn't the place for you. The restrooms were lacking in maintenance, they simply need to be cleaned more often given the number of people in the campsite. As far as rule following, quiet hours, leave no trace mentality, not so much. But no question, it is a beautiful area! Really wished I could have enjoyed it more.

Campgrounds are great. Bathrooms cleaned daily. Spigot with potable water. And enough fish to catch with your bare hands if you're up early enough to beat the swimmers.

Some people aren't into it, but I think it's fantastic trip with the family. Little bit of hiking. Fun water stuff. Nice little cafe and very close to the lakes.

A pretty place to enjoy nature alongside a beautiful creek. The water level is already getting lower than normal, but with the lower snowpack this spring that was to be expected. The only negative was the number of dogs that were brought to the day use location. Too many dogs made for a less than ideal experience, but I understand wanting to bring family members along as I have 2 dogs of my own. There isn't too much room alongside the boulders to keep a pet while going off to explore. It might be nice if a pet friendly area was established. A fun place to spend a few hours.

The camp host was super helpful. He moved us to a different campsite so we wouldn't get stuck on slippery roads after the snow that was forecast for the night. He also told us about some really great hikes nearby that we could check out. Good facilities too. Would camp there again!

This was THE BEDT vacation spot EVER!! We went for a family vacation. 7 adults and 2 small children for 3 nights and 4 days. Went on a hike every day after breakfast and lunch. We found something new every day and had more fun each day. The general store is awesome and has a lot of fun things to buy, as well as delicious food in a quaint little cafe. BEST ONION RINGS EVER!!!. We will be going EVERY YEAR FROM NOW ON❤️

I gave it a 5 star because of the camp host, Sandy and her family and their Great Dane. I stayed in Dinkey creek years ago and loved it. BUT be prepared there is no potable water. Doesn't mention this on the website. So load up before you leave home. There is water at the general store for sale at a price. Great place to camp and fish.

If you’re looking for a place where your kids can run free, make noise, laugh, run, and enjoy themselves this is not the place. This time around we couldn’t play music, not even low.We have been camping at Dinkey Creek for the past six years. Our last five years were memorable, we played music, played games, laughed, hiked, went in the creek, and enjoyed ourselves. This year we are unsure what changed, management? Grounds keepers? From the moment we arrived we were targeted. The Grounds keeper was rude, shoved papers in my 17 year olds face. Yelled at my husband when my husband wasn’t even at the camp site while we were playing music. He Kept making rounds and found any little thing to complain about.Honestly this all started when we played Mexican music. While we played country, no complaints. So if you have kids, want to play music during non quiet time hours, laugh, run, and play, this is not the place to camp at anymore!Rude, racist, no customer service!

Beautiful Campgrounds! The bathrooms are well maintained, campsites kept neat, and the sound of the creek is perfect to fall asleep to!

3 stars because it's quite clean. My only problem is that there was a good amount of people there, and not much in the way of attractions. The water is a bit cold to swim in, and there's roads zig zagging all over the mountain so hiking isn't very ideal. Definitely worth going if you're in the area, but I was disappointed that we drove over 1.5 hours to bump elbows with other people, instead of nature.

2nd trip 4 yrs apart. Noticeably warmer this year than others. Less shade as well due to fires.Sites stayed at 29c AND 30C. No bearproof lockers in campground, no phone service or wifi. Access to showers and store plus lots of creek wading and fun in water.(29c) single across from bathrooms and water no one is behind you. Lots of venturing. Very leveled BUT full of sun from 930-430. Shade closer to tree line. Couldnt nap or hang out in tent or table. Moved food around alot to keep from spoiling.(30c) group great all the way around, shade, very roomy next to restrooms and water.Hope this helps.

When Dale suggested deer hunting at Dinkey Creek, I thought he was nuts: a week of chili beans, farts, horrid camping, and listening to drunken men brag. Well, my expectations were correct, except for the horrid camping. Dale did bring enough chili for a week, so that took care of expectation number two too. The drunken men was mostly true, but the drunk women surprised me. I guess maybe I was being a bit chauvinistic. Regardless, the horrid camping expectation was absolutely wrong.Dinkey Creek is a beautiful camping site with great fishing. Well worth the time it takes to drive there. None of us got a deer, so that was a huge plus too.
