Ray’s Food Place is my go-to for groceries and snacks when I'm in Mount Shasta. They have ample parking. I'm always impressed by their international food selection - it adds a fun twist to my post-adventure meals. The location is super convenient, making it easy to stock up before heading out for the trails.

The best! Gigantic selection of foods, including International and bulk food sections! Plus health and beauty, summer fun, liquor, and cleaning items! Everything is always super clean.I love that the store is employee owned.In a world of big corporations that care more about profits than people, here in this beautiful small town is an incredible market working hard to bring fresh, delicious food and other needed items to the local community. That's a big deal!

My elderly mother who has been going to Rays for years, will not go anymore. It has come to my attention that they allow a man named, Austin Tamargo to use their store. My mother, who is elderly, doesn't need to be put at risk over this man. I have seen youtube videos of this man confronting women on a trail, him doing drugs, him threatening people and police. He has admitted to stealing from this specific store. This person is a risk to the general public and any place of business that allows him in, will lose business from my family. My mother will get her things else where. At least until this person is banned from the store. If and when they ban people like him, I will gladly adjust my rating. Maybe they don't know but safety is the number one priority.

Will no longer risk shopping at Ray’s as Rays is not concerned with customer safety. There is a man who frequents Rays, Austin Tamargo, who is a drifter in the Mount Shasta area. The local police are aware of his presence and have made clear they are sick of him and ready for him to go. He is a known drug addict and scams people for money on YouTube and around town on a daily basis. He has warrants out for him in multiple states, drives around Mount Shasta high and intoxicated, steals from Rays when he doesn’t get donations, and defaces private property around the Mount Shasta area - most recently a family practice office. This man shops at Ray’s regularly putting all of the patrons at risk who are in the same parking lot as him as well as anyone who comes into contact with him. Rays has been alerted of his presence but doesn’t seem to care. As a result, my family will no longer support Rays. Anyone who continues to shop there, please be aware of your surroundings.

Friends of mine in the area of Ray’s tell me a certain drifter-scammer still frequents Rat’s and has scared my friends at times. He solicits money from them. Be careful.

Was in line to check out, and the drinks I was getting wouldn't scan. The rude lady put them aside and said I needed to check out with my other stuff and then get back in line once she could get someone to help. The line had 4 people in it with carts full. Talked with the manager, and he wasn't any help. Never apologized and was a bit snooty. I'll go to the other store in town.

Ray's food place is really a good selection of all kinds of food items and the produce is full of quality items!and there was a girl that assisted me with finding qwality food items, Charlotte,Webb 🙂 and she was really trying her best to Stoc the store shelfs.she deserves 5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The service is alright, friendly people mostly, but you should be careful at the register. The advertised price is not always what the register rings up, and the prices are already exorbitant.

Horrible.!! Ray's food place in mt shasta CA has the highest prices I have ever seen .!!8 $ 4 garlic (3-4 whole garlic)NOT Organic5$ for 2 hot pockets15$ for 12 Hint waters13.99 a loaf of Tillamook cheese and I can name off more.I know this is a small community right off I5 an hour from the organ boarders and yes they're a lot of families and higher class of people that are moving into siskiyou county, particularly Mt Shasta and buying up property GREATNonetheless, people of low to moderate class of people can't even afford to shop in our own store, we have to go 7mi away to shop. Went here for a cake for a birthday. They didn't really have cakes, but they had other goodies. Busy grocery store. Deli staff is very friendly and helpful. Lots of parking.

RAY'S MARKET CUSTOMER'S BEWARE!!!What a horrific showing on Sat. Nov. 19, 2023, of the worst Customer Service I have received, & by the Management, at Ray's Market in Mt. Shasta, CA!The supposed Supervisor on duty, Rude Megan, responded to my request, for the Receipt I should have received, when purchasing a Sweatshirt at Ray's. What I got instead of Megan's cooperation in locating my receipt, was, "I cannot retrieve tour receipt. I them requested, that she go thru the Receipt's to find it, she, in a huff, went thru the Recept's, & as she looked at the first batch, I watched her crumple one of them up. I thought that was odd, as she did not crumple any other Receipts. Discourteous & Unprofessional Megan, them told me that my receipt was not there. I then, insisted that the Clerk who sold me the sweatshirt look again for my receipt, as I did not trust at all, Rude & Unprofessional, Supervisor, Megan! Fortunately, I was able to track the clerk down, & he was kind enough to go thru the receipt's again. As he got to the end of 30 or so receipt's, all that was left, was the single 'Crumpled' up Receipt, that Megan had intentionally crumpled up, so that I, the Unvalued Ray's customer, would not get my Receipt back, that I should been given, to begin with!Had it not been for my serious intent, no matter how much resistance I met from Ray's Market, my receipt would have never been found. Including the resistance from Manager Craig, who kept blaming Ray's Upper Management for their policy, that even tho the employee that sold me the item confirmed that he sold it to me, Ray's management would not cooperate! How Shameful!It is Crystal Clear, that Ray's Market Management, & Owner Crissmann, are all about Profit, & not about giving their Unvalued Customer proper Customer Customer Service! Supervisor Megan, is a Cancer, in the whole of Ray's Market, who needs to be removed & quickly, & require's immediate counseling for her Anger Management!Also, & importantly, it is Ray's Owner, Mr. Crissmann, Manager Craig, & Supv. Megan (that lost her Cool, big-time!), that have shown their True Color's~ that Ray's Market; Mt. Shasta, is no longer about providing Excellent Custoner Service, but all about PROFIT! But then we local's, having shopped at Rays Market, already know this this!Shame on you All, Owner, & Management of Ray's Market, Mt. Shasta, where PROFIT IS KING!!!

1 cashier overcharged me even when I told her she double rang 1 item and didn't ring another she just shook her head yes and dis nothingSo I went to a Mgr to get my correct change which was an extra 3.50. Was I suppse to just say oh well and let her keep it or what?? No I wanted my correct change f I r whst I purchased dingy lady. I don't know what she smoked but she couldnt do simple instructions that day

If you like moldy produce, gray meat, and horrible customer service, then Rays is the place for you! After living in Mount Shasta for a while, I can say positive experiences at this establishment are far and few between and only with two employees. Almost every trip (usually 2-3 times a week) there is an experience that makes me question why I continue shopping there. My partner has lived here his entire life and has noticed a severe deterioration in Ray's quality in every faucet. Our latest Ray's experience was with the checker being very kind to the woman ahead of us, but once it was our turn, his demeanor did a 180 and he slammed the item we were purchasing on the counter while bitterly telling us our total (this is not an unusual experience when going through Michael's line). Besides rudeness, the male employees are so creepy! One time an employee spent the entire transaction talking to me about his car and very obviously being flirtatious as I said nothing (never even asked about the car and was not looking at him) and my partner was trying to get his attention to finish the transaction. My minor sister in law has also experienced the same creepiness. I purposefully dress modestly when going to this store! That is not the environment we should allow in our town. I find it hard to believe that the problem lies in us considering we have the complete opposite experience at every other local establishment…even better treatment at stores in bigger cities. I’ve also heard from many people and reviews that this is not a unique experience. Maybe someday Rays will care enough to do something…but then again, if they’ll leave moldy peaches rotting for days, I doubt they’ll care about their terrible employees.

Best place in town to buy groceries and perfect if you are visiting/in town for a season thanks to their prepared food options as well. And if that is not enough for a visit, you get to have this wonderful view of Mt Shasta while you do !

Always has been the most expensive grocery store in all Northern Cali.. and that's saying a lot.. the deli used to be okay.. but not anymore.. and most employees seem to just be there for the paycheck and absolutely nothing more.. I recommend drive to Grocery Outlet up the road 5-6 miles.. much cheaper.. much better employees to help..

Ray's is convenient and carries the big name brands, but i can't afford to do much shopping there. I'm always suprised at how much I have to spend for just a few items. I call it "Raised Food Price"

Great local supermarket with excellent fresh produce! Prices are high, but that’s to be expected in rural NorCal. You can go to DG if you don’t want fresh things, or bring groceries from Redding or Yreka.

I love the town of Mount Shasta. I love this Ray's most likely because its in Mount Shasta and its our go-to store when we are in the area visiting family. They seem to have a little bit of everything.We love the natural food store across town, but can't always find what we need so usually stick with Ray's. They made a delicious birthday cake for my DIL a few weeks ago - fresh and delicious. They always have rotisserie chickens and deli foods, etc. for grab and go meals.

Store is not bad. BUT I am here for six months of the year again and just like last year they refuse to allow me to get a discount card because I have no "local" address. I am NOT willing to spend thousands of dollars there over the summer again! I will support other local businesses around town and only go there if I can not find what I need elsewhere. Their loss...

Would have given one star but for our cashier who was super friendly and fast. Store was okay but the checkout line was ridiculously long...just one cashier! He was gracious under pressure which we appreciated. His name is Michael. He deserves a raise for representing your understaffed store so well.

Came here to pick up some food items for our trailer for our vacation. Clean, easy to navigate and very easy to find what you’re looking for. When checking out, the cashier, Cynthia, was very warm, welcoming and very professional. Such a sweet personality. We will definitely back if we need anything else ❤️.

Store has a good selection, the employees though leave a whole lot to be desired... Encountered at least 6 employees not a single smile, not a single greeting and no thank you for shopping with us at the end. WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE!We all have a choice where to spend our money and Ray's in Mt Shasta is definitely not getting that message!
