5 stars cuz I live in this town and Js is the only market we have. Has almost anything you are looking for in there and if they dont have it owner will get it for you! On 299w on way to Whiskeytown Lake. You can pick up charcoal, lighter fluid, ice, drinks and snacks for a fun day at the lake.

Super friendly polite people and I am so amazed at how many needed items they're able to fit in a little market I asked for chocolate chip mint ice cream for my mother I was thinking no way and sure enough there it was in the freezer in the corner WOW !!! AND THEIR TWO MINUTES FROM THE LAKE WORMS, BEER, ICE, FIREWOOD, MARSHMALLOWS HERSHEY BARS GRAHAM CRACKERS HINT HINT...... IF YOU'RE GOING TO CAMP FOR THE NIGHT J'S MARKET ROCKS

They are becoming more and more friendly, they are! Just not opened enough hours because they dont have employees outside of family. And selection is limited because of space but a haven for the traveler. An Oasis in a Forest (or what was a Forest before burning down in the Car fire of × years ago. Come and support one of the communities that was all but wiped out.

I live in Old Shasta and I don't know what I'd do if J's market weren't here in town. Many of times at the last minute and in some unpredictable weather moments I needed just a few things and THANK GOD FOR GOOD OL' J's MARKET I got what was needed.It sure is a great feeling knowing their there and they've GOT your BACK (so to speak) especially for someone like me whose parents and spouse has passed now and whats left of MY FAMILY are living down south.J's Market play the role of MOM AND POPS for me and are greatly appreciated, For the last 8 years now. Friendly, fast, mini mart food and fishing tackle.If you're bait fishing Whiskeytown lake, buy some mealworms. The little fish bite them as soon as they hit the water.

All the snacks, drinks and ice you'll need for the lake. Has some bait and tackle as well, but not a huge selection. Not much parking, but parking isn't usually an issue. If you're towing boat, park further west on the other side of the post office.
