We never skip Iron Horse while in Sonoma!!! One of the best tasting experiences I’ve ever had!Such a tasty assortment of wines; I love a set with some bubbly !! There’s a rich history here too, ask them about when the president drank some of the wine! You couldn’t ask for a more lovely setting. I recommend doing the tasting then heading over to the picnic tables and having an extra glass !

Absolutely fabulous sparkling wine maker just outside Santa Rosa. This was our first visit and we were so happy to be introduced to their delicious sparkling wines. We had a wonderful tasting room host in Danae and enjoyed our time. Make sure to have a reservation and make sure to ask about the history of this winery and their link to the White House. Beautiful setting - beautiful wine. Can’t go wrong.

We had the sparking wine flights yesterday. You need to make a reservation before coming in. There were some unique and classic champaign blends which elevated our Saturday morning. Carl told us stories behind why and when these were made. It felt like we were invited to a family event. It was peaceful, authentic, and delightful. We were escorted to do wine tastings in the outdoor area where we could embrace the endless vineyard view. I just wished there were some small food though.

Came with my wife on our honeymoon - we had so much fun! Beautiful scenery and delicious wine - we did the sparkling tasting and were lucky enough to have Paul do the tasting for us. He’s amazing! We recommend him! Here is a picture of us with Paul :)

If you are wanting to visit a less commercialize, family-run winery in Northern California wine country, definitely make a wine tasting reservation at Iron Horse. The place is small, intimate, with very friendly, knowledgeable, attentive wine tasting staff. The views are breathtakingly beautiful, with rolling vines to look at. Quiet, peaceful. It is wonderful Iron Horse makes three types of wines from only the grapes grown on their estate, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and their signature Sparkling Wines. Not all wineries do this. So great place to visit if you have limited wine tasting time.Cost to sample is $30 for 5 "flights" of wine. Need to call or go online ahead to make a tasting reservation. We tried the sparkling wines and pinots. The day we went we were served a 6th sparkling wine "2013 Gratitude" which was nice.Bring friends so you can try all three types and some snacks. Iron Horse does not serve food, only water from a self-serve water dispenser or come after eating a meal. The wine tasting will hit you. The pours are generous. Can easily spend 2+ hours here, taking time to sober up before getting back into your car.If your party uses a wheelchair or walker, there is designated handicapped parking in the big lot and next to the first red building. Surface is flat. Easy to roll or walk.Only two minuses - only service dogs are allowed to visit and there is no diaper changing table in the one unisex restroom.

Great sparkling white wines. The wine maker is from France Champagne region. Great views while tasting awesome wines. It's a little bit out of the way but worth it. Highly recommend the wedding cuvee.

Great quick visit. Stopped in ( without an appointment) for a bottle of their Wedding Curvee, the host was great and also provided a taste of their Reserve Brut.A great start to the afternoon.

Wow! The winery is so gorgeous and the wines just below us away. Tanner took great care of us and made Iron Horse our favorite winery stop on our honeymoon! Highly recommend.

Beautiful view and delicious food wines. Joe was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. The sparkling wine tasting is $35 each, but it was waived when we bought six bottle of wine. Would go again! Oh also I found this cute cat in the vineyards.

We are club members here and can not recommend it more highly. The bubbles are delicious, the location is beautiful and the tasting room staff are top notch. And this is a winery that still is owned by the family that started it, not a mega liquor conglomerate. Every time we come here we have a great time. We tried the magnum tasting for the first time this weekend and it was probably the best wine tasting experience we have had in Sonoma County; well worth paying a bit extra to experience their best bottles, with tasty bites, in a private lovely setting.

This place has both stunning sparkling wines and views! Jarrod, was so hospitable and informative. I can't wait to back. It's a lovely drive to the winery and all the tastings are conducted outside.

Read amazing reviews about their 4pm Friday tasting and, sadly, was disappointed. The winery is lovely and one to try if you like champagne, but it's hit or miss when it comes to the person pouring your wine if they'll interact with at all. We had to ask them for the story of the winery (and never did find out why it's called iron horse), and was told the bare bones about the wines. Next to us, a group was treated to a much more detailed discussion about the wines, what paired well with them, and so forth. Out of the several wine tastings in the past couple of days, this one was the most disappointing.

We had a lot of fun here. Felt like a big party. The staff really made us feel welcome and kept the atmosphere light and casual. Careful when you drive up, there are many potholes and blind turns.

This is our favorite Sonoma County winery. They have good still wines, especially Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs, but we go for the sparkling wines. Each one is good any time and place, but it's special to drink them overlooking the vineyards - and it's a magnificent view. We're on vacation celebrating our wedding anniversary, so it's extra-special. The staff is friendly and helpful. Iron Horse has always had outdoor tasting, so they haven't had to make as many adaptations as some other places. Be sure to make a reservation, either by phone or on the website.Try to go on Sunday if you can. The Oyster Girls are there, shucking fresh local oysters which are perfect with the bubbly. If you don't like oysters, they have shrimp too.

I visited Iron Horse vineyards in the middle of December after calling to see if they had any cancellations or openings and they wonderfully accommodated my friends and I for an amazing tasting experience. As a wine nerd, I cannot understate how well Kevin performed the tasting for us and how amazingly attentive and informative he was with us. The rest of the staff was also very wonderful and entertaining as they interacted with us as well as their own guests. I have been to multiple wineries and the caliber of service here blows most other ones out of the water. Standing at the bar has never felt more wonderful, fun and engaging. Thank you so much Kevin for the experience! The sparkling wine is out of this world and I left knowing so much more about wine and very excited to come back! If you are on the fences about iron horse, it is worth every bit of praise it receives and more.

The venue is gorgeous! Loved the views and outdoor tasting area. There were only 2 knocks:#1No seating. Sure, there are a couple benched, but no seats at the tasting area tables.#2The bathrooms had no A/C, and if they did, the A/C was not on. Usually, the weather is cool enough to not worry about it, but when it's 80+ degrees outside...it's closer to 90 in the bathrooms. Not the experience you want at a wine tasting.Between these 2 factors, I felt like I was only wanted there for a "very" short time vs being a guest that the Iron Horse team wanted to sell some wine to...beyond the tasting. It was an "ok" experience, but more for the view, than anything else. I was hoping for more, so maybe that is on me, I dunno...

Very nice wines, friendly people and great views. That's all really good. Major fail: NO SEATS! You are standing for an hour. If I had known that, I would have booked somewhere else. This was not the right fit for our party, which included three over 60. They did finally bring a stool for my 75YO uncle, and we probably would have left if they did not. IHV should buy more stools, or make it clear to people what to expect IMO.

Visited with friends who are wine club members. They're doing a great covid time experience with outdoor tables and very friendly service. Views are amazing and the wine is varied and all fantastic.. highly recommended if you're in the area !

Awesome views. The leaves are starting to change in the valley surrounding the vineyard. The wines are delish!

Wow, what a difference a few years makes! Last visit was delightful, this time we received attitude from the hostess, and there was no where to stand - forget sitting, that wasn’t directly in the sun. And it seemed designed that way, almost like they are taking cues from Disney World and telling folks to “spend your money and leave”.

Has become pretentious requiring a reservation and $25 tasting free not waived with purchase. Gazebo is for wine club members only. Not the greatest for the current price. No tasting room, just a dusry parking lot albeit with a beautiful view.

This is a wonderful winery. Our host Ashley was very knowledgeable about the wines that Iron Horse produced. She went over sugar content of each of the wines and how it affected the taste of it. This was refreshing as usually all we hear at a winery is this is our white wine selection, period. The view was awesome and everyone was very courteous. We purchased two bottles for our guests who brought us to the winery and ordered some to be shipped. I'm looking forward to its arrival.

I must say and amazing view most wonderful and delightful wines Attendees in this place were amazing the only thing I’m missing to give it a five star test that they did not have any cheese or any appetizers for us to complement and to add it into the wine tasting experience it would have been amazing for us to have the whole package

Five of us went to Iron Horse on Saturday. We had a stand up table with a great view of the vineyard and mountains. During a previous visit we sat under the pergola on the back of property which was really nice too, but a little more private. Both were great experiences. Both times the service was amazing. The sparkling wines were delicious!!. Several of us bought some to take home. One of my favs!!!

The view was beautiful but the experience was not great. The server did the pours in the same glass, looked like he just rolled out of bed, largely ignored our table and didn't bother to offer any water, even though it was 90 degrees in the shade and we were standing for almost an hour (no seats unless you're sitting in the outside bar). The sparkling wines were just ok. Not recommended.
