This is a first time experience. We took our dog Ruby to get her hair trimmed this is the before and after pictures. It appears as though maybe Angela the groomer may have used the wrong number on the clippers I’m not absolutely positive but my dog came home with a big chunk of hair missing from the top of her head. My husband picked her up so he really didn’t pay too much attention he said that her hair was pushed up on top so he didn’t really notice maybe she tried to cover it up by combing Ruby’s hair upward on top. I called the next day to complain and I was told that Angela said she didn’t take any hair off the top of my dogs head. I would’ve been OK with her calling me and saying she made a mistake or even when I called I would’ve been OK if she admitted that she made a mistake and asked what can we do to fix it but she literally said she didn’t cut the hair off the top of Rubys head clearly a lie and that says a lot about her character. They did ask me to come in to evaluate what could be done but I’m sure it will only make it worse. I wouldn’t recommend this place at all.

One star because fish are neglected !My husband bought me a tetra fish from another PetSmart 4 days ago and it had ICK PARASITES. I noticed a few white spots but didn’t think much. 3 days in and my fish is covered in these parasites. I’m so upset because I have 15 other healthy fish that will most likely get this disease if I don’t take care of it quick.I came to this store to buy the super ick cure and decided to walk over to the fish tanks to buy some guppies. As I looked Into the aquariums i noticed many fish had an outbreak of parasites & rot.I approached an employee and told her about the condition of the fish and she said she would remove them.Not sure if these fish get thrown out or they just get separated and treated (which I doubt) because she was putting them in a weird container.I spotted about 10 different aquariums with this parasitic disease. When I was at the register I asked the cashier if the fishies had warranty and she said “yes 14 days with receipt.” I then proceeded to tell her about the parasites and she said many people have been coming in complaining about the same issue.Which means they know about it and they neglect the fish. It’s so sad.Will be calling the PetSmart corp and reporting this. Unacceptable! Life of these poor animals matters.By the way I lifted the lids on the fish tanks and the pipes are visible in the back, they are covered in mold and algae. Also some spider webs.Please educate yourself in fish diseases so the same thing doesn’t happen to you. I’m here spending extra money on fish medicine.

The staff at this location is always friendly and we are always greeted on entry. It is well stocked and the pricing is comparable to other chain stores. We would shop here more often if PetSmart sold Zignature and Fussie Cat brands so for now we mostly purchase our rabbit care goods here. Located in large shopping center parking can be difficult, luckily there is an open lot near the back.-Bearded Dragons are available!

Made an appointment (2)two days ago and even had an automated phonecall to verify my appointment. came in a few minutes early, not only was it closed with the lights off, but the grooming salon was closed as well. when i inquired with andrew, he educated me to the short-staff dilemma they were having and that i should have received a call saying so. i did not. if there is a problem with scheduling, there should NOT be an option to book an appointment. just saying. the saving grace was the interaction with andrew, good job with your explanation and well-wishes. this is why the place got 2-stars. probably not going to comeback to this branch. petsmart otherwise has always been pretty good to my best friend and myself. hope y'all do better in the future.

uh be careful of the fish you buy because mine was doing ok first few days but then he got fin rot that stayed for 3 months and then popeye and then dropsy and died two days later (was able to keep him alive for 1 year thanks to +5 medications)

Petsmart is a great store with many locations. However, i will say that the workers can vary. I politely waited and asked when the person helping with the birds would be out and they said to wait. I waited some more. I asked another associate and they said to ring the bell. ( By now someone in that department should have seen customers standing by the birds staring at them. ). I looked for the bell and couldn’t find it. I expected it to be on the support beam next to the birds but it wasn’t there. Finally someone came out. When i expressed how i was looking for the bell, she points to it and says “it’s right there”. I then said “oh i couldn’t find it. I looked and looked but i guess it blended in” (insert cute nervous laugh here). The. She comes back with a rude “well it’s right there” like she’s trying to keep something going as if to say “well duh!” Needless to say we got the bird (by the way, a replacement for the Guinea pig - also from petsmart- who died after a month , which was a replacement for the Guinea pig before him who had just died (also from petsmart). My little boy is devastated…so we are trying a bird this time. UPDATE: The bird died after six days - i exchanged it since it was within their 14 day policy (the reason for the third star)

if i could rate lower, i would tbh. i've been taking my cat to the grooming salon every month since january of this year to get her claws trimmed. last couple times i took her for a claw trimming she's hissed, but whenever it was brought up to me it was brought up in a jokey manner like "yeah she hissed but what can we do about that". i recently booked a bath for my cat at the grooming salon. my cat is only 1 year old and has had two baths (1 at petsmart and 1 at home), so they're nothing really new to her.when i went to drop her off they told me to wait a few minutes just in case she freaked out. i got a call a couple minutes later telling me to come pick her up. she had started growling when they were trimming her ears. i wasn't very surprised about that, but what made me mad was that the attendant told me that that wouldn't have happened if i had been taking her to the salon for a bath every month. i may be a first time pet owner, but even i know that it's unhealthy for a cat to be given a bath every single month. they also told me that they didn't even want to get her wet bc "what if [they] start shampooing her and she freaks out? then she'd have to go home wet". when i said "that's fine she can just dry off at home" they just flat out told me "no we are not shampooing her".i would also like to add that i've trimmed my cats claws myself a few times and did not have a problem with her until after i started taking her to the petsmart grooming salon. it makes me feel like something has happened to her there in the last few months and they're just not being upfront with me on what it was.

The store is clean. However, they never have the cat products I need. I literally had to change the food I was feeding my cat because they didn’t have his food for months. His litter never seems to be stocked as well. I went in today and I didn’t see his litter on the shelf AGAIN but on the app it said they had some. Sooo I put an online order for pickup. I walked around the shopping center for over an hour and half and my order still was not filled. I went to the rude cashier and asked if they could just fill the order, she explained why they couldn’t I accepted that. Then I asked her that they must have some in the back if they are going to fill the order, I said couldn’t I just cancel my pickup order and go ahead and get them. She was not helpful with going to go check if they had any in the back (which I knew they did). Literally, 20mins after I get home mysteriously my order was filled. Super annoyed! I will not be going to the Seal Beach store again.

Staff is always incredibly friendly and they keep the store organized and clean. The cashier helped make sure I had the correct perception food for my dog which was appreciated because I had grabbed the wrong bag by mistake. One stop shop for pupper needs.

The staff was very friendly including the cashier and fish person. The fish department is a little bit small it appears but it's very well kept up and very clean. They didn't jump at you like they do at the PetSmart or the other fish stores that make you stand behind a line. Overall a pretty quiet and nice experience. I definitely enjoy shopping at the store. Good selection.

Not too great of a 1st experience at this location. The checkout line was ridiculously long that went to the back of the store. The only reason we didn't stayed in line to buy our items was due to our take out dinner not being ready yet so we had some time. There was only 1 young lady working but she did a great job of helping customers that had questions or needed help..

Staff are very helpful, friendly. Place is well organized. Just wish they have what I need in quantity and selection so I don't have to come back there every 3, 4 days. It wasn't like that few months ago. May be it's because of the provider (the source) and delivery.

We went there this past Sunday afternoon there was only 1 cashier at the time and she was so friendly! Engaged and acknowledged my 9yr son who kept talking about what fish we were going to buy for our new fish tank! Excellent customer service! :)

Two things.They claimed my dog was matted. Ok. He had four mats which did NOT require the half hour they charged additional if they're 'trained' when I could've done it much faster myself.They also claimed my dog was infested with fleas. WHAT LIARS!!!! MY DOG DID NOT HAVE A SINGLE FLEA! He came back INFESTED with fleas so I had to buy flea treatment.

Great location, friendly staff. They have a pretty solid selection of toys too! If you're just an average pet owner and not someone with a Santa Monica attitude you'll get all of your needs met and more at this location. Never had any problems. I came here for dog, cat, and chinchilla products and was able to find everything I needed!

Very disappointed that I drove from DTLA to seal beach for the bunny photo when the ticket said we would be give a free photo and scratcher. Lucky I have a cell phone or I would have no photo. The associate did not scan anything nor interacted with the guests. I was hoping for a professional photographer or camera at least so I can purchase more from them. Overall disappointing and wish I did not waste my time or gas driving there.

I have been going to PetSmart for years and have not been disappointed. I recently Adopted my little loving kitten. I enjoyed all of the help going through the process. I wish I had as much energy as Little Gumdrop has. I recommend PetSmart.

I have been having a hard time finding the pate cat food my babies eat. Was desperate because my normal store was not getting shipments. I was pleasantly surprised that Petsmart had large selection of food i needed and was only 2 cents more expensive. I was afraid it would be alot more. I will definitely continue buying here and staff was very helpful. Also very impressed with how they handled check out. Very clean and social distanced.

People here are very rude with bad attitude, questioning every return and making me feel like I’m steeling. I can’t tell if they where just being racist but they where nice to others!!
