Staff are good people, management's a wash. Check dates and prices on everything before you go to the register. often veggies just wilting or rotting in place. Butchery is affordable but quality can be questionable. Check dates, color, and smell before purchase.

Great place to get meat at if you live in the area or if you're passing through to just get gas and a quick bite. They do have a good section where you can grab some food and eat on the go or eat outside on their benches.

Nice to have a store close by.However...Make sure you look at the price on the shelf ( if there is one) cuz it's gunna be a higher price when you get to the register. This has been an on going issue for a long time. I walk around with a note pad to write prices down because most items at the register aren't what they say on the shelf.This was an ongoing problem in the beer section. They just pulled all the price tags to alleviate said problem .Come to my country and make plenty of money & still rip off the public ..Not tryna be racist, I'm just sayn...

Their sandwiched from the deli are fantastic. Especially for the price. I stop by for lunch anytime I'm driving past. Stop here for food next time you're going past Scotia.

We have been getting great, fresh sandwiches at Hoby's deli for years now. The sourdough rolls are fantastic and they will make your sandwich to order. Our most recent visit was Feb. 24th - and they have added fresh Mexican food to the menu. We will definitely be stopping by to try it out at some point.

Grocery store is ok- check expiration dates. BUT the “deli” is mediocre at best. The folks here can’t cook well, it’s Hard to ruin meatloaf but they do! Tasteless mass coated with ketchup, instant mashed potatoes, frozen mixed veggies all for $9.50! It was worth .50 cents. I tried to support the deli but the food is not good and it’s fairly expensive. Sandwiches are ok, Oscar Mayer type ingredients. Too bad they don’t focus on just being a top line deli. Cross the bridge and eat at the Patron Kitchen in Rio Dell- much fresher, much better!

You should try Hobie's market. For a small market, it isn't bad prices. They have a great little deli, with a hot case, various deli salads, plus you can have a sandwich made. Every day there is a dinner special And I love when it is fajita or a taco day. The lady makes really really good Spanish rice

Hobys Market is the place to grocery shop in Scotia/ Rio Dell.All the essential needs. Nice Full Service Butcher Shop. Hard to find these days. Grass fed Humboldt Beef Specials.

Nice market. Great meat selection. Beer selection is small. Gas prices are good out front. Cheese selection is very good. Lots of ice cream and frozen treats. Worth the stop.

I'm always interested in small markets like were the mainstay of the small town in north-central Kansas where I grew up. Hoby's offers a deli (wasn't open the Sunday afternoon of my visit) in addition to a selection of preserved meats, cheese, and wine befitting the hardworking timberland community it generally serves. It's proximity to The Scotia Inn is what drew me in for a snack for the road.

Very very expensive. E.g $9 for a gallon of milk. We left and drove another 7mi to Safeway because even with the price of gas it was still cheaper.
