Huge selection with some great stuff. They have crickets, mice, and rats for sale behind the counter too. They only sell mice, rats, and beta fish for pets so dont expect to buy a cat or a dog here. Just the supplies for them! There's a wide range of food and supplies for a number of pets and the people upfront can answer most questions. The store is organized and easy to navigate. (And there's a cute little trainer that goes around the store too!)

Here in East County, this is one of the only places to buy crickets. The main difference with this store to other pet stores? A LOCAL BUSINESS. You can find pet food from raw to specialty. They carry Solid Gold, also a local company, also in Santee, and the bison mix is perfect for a small dog's coat. I also found an alternative to fighting as we brush our dog's teeth, as this store carries a gel that you rub on their gums and teeth to kill bacteria. They also carry a whole line of simply baked biscuits in all sizes, and for that very special treat, there are cookies with frosting up front.

The staff are caring and very knowledgeable. I was trying to nurse my dog back to health after 3 weeks of not being able to keep anything down in his stomach. The staffs recommendations were exactly what I needed. Immediately I was able to my dog appetite and ability to digest the pet food that was recommended. This level of care and service is only available at our local business. Thanks to all of their staff. I look forward to being a life long customer. I highly recommend this business.

Love their selection, and most of the staff are SUPER friendly, but there main lady there always makes me feel a little as though I'm putting her out for shopping there. It already leaves me feeling a little odd when I leave. Bit again, they have a great selection of live reptile food

They have everything we need for all our pets. We have a corn snake, ball python, gecko, parakeets, cockatiels and a good size fish tank with frogs, sharks and a variety of fish and this is our one stop shop that supplies all our needs. Amazing customer service and very affordable prices. We don't go anywhere else.

I mainly go here for feeder mice for my snake. But they have virtually all the pet supplies that you could ask for. I usually end up picking things up for my dog and cat as well. If you want to support small business instead of petco or petsmart go here! The customer service is great and I never feel like they are lacking on what I need.

Looks small outside, but inside holds an incredibly organized and large variety of products. I found exactly what I needed for my bearded dragon as well as supplies for my friend's rabbit. The employees were genuinely friendly and willing to help. In addition, many of the things they carry are from nearby farms and producers. Cheers to supporting local businesses!

They close at 6pm every day of the week.Friendly staff, good selection for the store size.They have the critters needed to support exotic pets, at reasonable prices. For example, while the mice are a little more, they are also bigger than other places for only slightly less. Worth it.They typically have more staff than I would expect for the store, but then that also means service when you need it. Even when there is a line, it goes down quickly.

Am all for supporting local Buisness but customer service plays a huge part in where I spend my money great store horrible customer service unless you know exactly what your shopping for don’t expect any help. Seems like woman behind counter is just to lazy to offer any help or an alternative did I mention rude very. (Hope she gets a space heater for Christmas to un freeze her cold heart.) for whatever you ask for not going back or recommending them it is sad that there are so few mom and pop Buisness’s left

This is the best place in East County to get insects for your reptiles. Great prices on crickets! Everything is always fresh, clean, and alive. I also get bones here for the neighborhood dogs. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable!

Three stars for good product. I spend good money for exceptional food product for my dogs, however the owner of this store consistently has a bad attitude, never smiles, appears unapproachable, and does not seem even a bit grateful for my business. There are competitive stores in the area that are helpful, give good information, and smile when I give them my money. You know...customer service. This store is lacking in customer service.

People who work there are very nice and knowlegeable. Carry best brands. I like their reward programs that I have for three products I buy. Small, but packed, store which requires little walking as opposed to warehouse pet stores.

The staff is friendly and super knowledgeable and can answer questions and make recommendations to help you pick the best food for your pets. There is plenty of parking and the location is convenient making it an easy in and out situation. Great place!

One of the few stores that have holistic pet food. It’s a little on the pricey side if you are used to chain stores. The quality is way better than anything in Petsmart or Petco. We were having a few issues with our Jack Russel and Corgi until we started using Pure Vita. Well worth the price in my opinion.
