Dollar drug has been compounding my BHRT for years, and its always been fantastic service. Recently, I went on vacation and realized with horror, that I forgotten an important medication that normally takes a week to prepare and to add even more stress, my Dr. was out of the office that day. The pharmacist at Dollar went out of his way to get me an emergency dose that I could pick up that day, and they didn't even charge me! I was completely blown away and will forever sing Dollar Drug's praises!

Up until today I would have given a 5-star review. But I was notified today that they no longer were accepting my prescription insurance because they don't make any money from it! They actually told me they don't recover their costs! I have been on permanent disability for 9 years after being diagnosed with MS, and I just finished treatment for breast cancer. And now I have to find ANOTHER pharmacy. This just proves that even a local business doesn't care about anything but money. Not an ounce of concern for the well-being of the patient.

Love the small home town feel, I'm so tired of dealing with big name pharmacies, it's nice to have a place that feels like they care about you and your health. U like places like CVS and Wallgreens where it seems like everyone's always in a bad mood all the time.

The service has taken huge nose dive. The pharmacists are rude. The pharmacists avoid eye contact which makes me uncomfortable. Pharmacist make decision but leave the staff to deliver the news and no one knows what is going on cause the pharmacists cannot COMMUNICATEGave 1 star this morning, 4 stars this afternoon, because when a pharmacist calls you at home and asks what went wrong and he listens to what I had to say and then apologizes. And explained to me the situation. Thank you Mike.

Best Pharmacy. They have products that other pharmacies don't offer! This place is great for bioidentical hormones. I highly recommend them.

I used to recommend Dollar Drug to everyone as I felt they gave good service. Unfortunately, my last couple of experiences were not good as they misunderstood & misinterpreted information from my doctor & his staff. I don’t like to give bad reports but my doc & his office had to jump through hoops trying to help them understand multiple things that they had misinterpreted.

I loved Dollar Drug. I really like supporting a local furnacy. During Covid I think they slipped. They lost some very good employees, they were so helpful, friendly, and so pleasant to work when getting your prescription filled. Now I have to call to make sure they are ready and I cannot impress upon them enough how important it is to receive one medication in the early morning on the day it is due. Their excuse is always that their truck does not deliver this medication until mid-day. I had my doctor prescribe it for 29 days in hopes that it would be ready on the 30th day first thing in the morning on the 30 day. I still can't get it unless I call and "pester" them to receive it that day. I am extremely tired of calling and extremely unhappy with customer service since their main staff has left and then replaced w/poor customer service.

I wish there were an option for 0 star. STAY AWAY FROM DOLLAR DRUG!! They lie about lack of insurance coverage and require patients to PRE-PAY for something that insurance will cover. The pharmacist said "insurance reimbursement is insufficient". It is called co-pay, and patients may not be happy when it is higher, but not as unhappy as hearing it is not covered and then finding out you lied and never even checked on coverage, just decided to have patient pay in full. The pharmacist then proceeded to recommend that I call my insurance about a different drug that "usually isn't covered, but less money". Rude, disrespectful and practicing medicine without a license. I could say more, but these charlatans are not worth the time. Suffice it to say.....STAY FAR AWAY!

My daughter has several prescriptions that are refilled monthly, many of which are complicated in terms of billing and dosing. I have gone to many many other pharmacies in town and THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST PHARMACY. They are organized, knowledgeable and make it simple to order, re-order and pick up her scripts. The employees are so helpful and friendly. I can't say enough about how happy I am to have them as our pharmacy. I strongly recccomend using them.

As a clinician who orders numerous compounded prescriptions for my patients every month, I have been very pleased with the quality of compounding and service my patients have received from Dollar Drug over the past 8 years that I have been in Santa Rosa. Their formulations consistently provide the results that my patients and I are looking for.The Dollar Drug pharmacists have always been very responsive to patient questions and concerns. We all feel that their priority is the good health of the patients they serve. The entire staff consistently provides friendly and efficient service to meet the needs of each patient, and they have always been willing to “go the extra mile.”Thank you, Dollar Drug, for the positive and irreplaceable contribution you provide to our Sonoma County community. My patients and I look forward to working with you for years to come!Jane Kennedy, CFNP, MN, MPH, Nurse Practitioner, Santa Rosa, CA

Great prices, quick no non sense and as they get to know you they become personal and caring. Not everyone working there but the pharmacist even helped me when I was short on a co pay from his own pocket. I have nothing but respect and appreciation for them. Last of their kind!

Dollar Drug continues to be my and all my Health Care providers' preferred pharmacy BECAUSE of its consistent professional and personal interactions As well as the expeditiousness, efficiency and efficacy of delivery, communication, and billing services. The entire staff go the extra steps AND miles to make challenges in pharmaceutical, innoculation, and general supportive health care needs accessible and hassle free in our Santa Rosa community. Much gratitude in times of vanishing care and compassion. Dr JoAnne MacTaggart

I am a practicing physician and for 20 years, up until two years ago, I recommended Dollar Drug to all my patients. Two years ago Frank Hecht sold Dollar Drug to three younger pharmacists and retired. When Frank was there things were not perfect, but if a mistake was made, or something was lost in the mail, Frank took care of it with a "customer first" attitude. It took me a while to discover that things had changed. Now it is all about the money, customer satisfaction and service be damned. It came to a head when the shipment of my personal medication did not make it to my mailbox. I presumed they would stand behind it just because I was a loyal customer, not to mention a physician loyal to their pharmacy. How wrong I was. They deflected responsibility to everyone but themselves. Now I must do an email mailing to my 3500 patients and apologize for ever recommending Dollar Drug. My advice: never do business with Dollar Drug.

Regular pharmacy expensive if using cash. Compounding pharmacy I used for a long while but after the 3rd time having my prescription adulterated and the staff not investigating I switched and have had no problems in over a year at a different compounding RX. This was a result of one bad employee (they hire lots of kids as they are busy). They allow relatively new employees to open the store and when I asked the pharmacist to wait until I was there so he could fill it without having to leave it on the shelve they refused after a couple of time as it was a hassle for them. Losing a 125 dollars to adulterated compound medicine is a hassle for me.

I was never asked for my insurance coverage. I assumed compound pharmacy's did not accept insurance, the same as the alternative DR I went to. But low and behold after asking after 8 months of picking up my compound I found out my insurance did cover my prescription. I was credited back 3 mo of the insurance benefit from Dollar Drug, but an additional 5 mo needs to be reimbursed by my insurance company. Three of the five months were all I could get credit for and I am out almost a hundred dollars. I believe it is the responsibility of the pharmacy to inquire about a persons insurance, not me asking if you take insurance. Buyer beware.

The lady at the counter was horribly rude. This was not the first time. It will be the LAST!! I will take all of my business elsewhere. Go to Rite Aid on Farmers if you want excellent service.

Pretty blah experience here.Had to have a perscription filled (of a fairly critical respiratory medication, for a hospice patient); the details of the debacle are not particularly important, but the end result was that they (at least partially) dropped the ball on having it filled on Christmas Eve (and were not open until many days later, long after the patient's existing supply of medication would have run out). The front counter staff was very friendly and understanding, but the pharmacist was more interested in trying to place blame on hospice rather than figuring out a way to actually resolve the issue. It was very uncomfortable. My best guess is that the only reason they are still in business in this day and age is because they have one of the only compounding labs in the county outside of a hospital.Yes, it's an independently owned business and-so-on-and-so-forth, but I don't really see the advantage over a big box pharmacy ... it's certainly not the customer service. If you want a small pharmacy on principle, just go to Tuttle's, otherwise just go to CVS or something, the only reason I'd go to Dollar Drug is if I needed something compounded.

Three people, 2 talking to each other. Another on the phone. The two seperated. One walked right by me then said. Can I help you? Like I wasn't even there. I called an hour before. I was told it was ready. I also told them my insurance information. I get here Oh, It will be a couple of minutes. Came back. Not covered. Do you want it filled? Of course that is why I am here duh? She then tells me it will be a couple more minutes to print the label. Not a friendly face in the place. Actually no other customers may be a reason for that hmm.

The Pharmacist refused to fill my pain medication. I would not recommend any Pharmacy that does not follow the Dr's orders and second guesses the Dr. This should be illegal and probably is.

Support your local, non-corporate pharmacy. They still accept BD Sharps for my diabetic needles, unlike CVS or Walgreens. Super nice people too.
