Rude manager at the door. Called me out for my socioeconomic status as perceived by her. Told me I had to go leave my bags in my "shopping cart i left outside" Tried to explain that these two medium sized purses are just that, and that I don't feel safe leaving my valuables outside unattended due to the fact that I've been dealing with a lot of coli lately. She was very loud and stood in front of the door creating a very embarrassing and humiliating scene for me. I needed some low price items to help me make it thru the cold night tonight because yes I am currently unhoused but have to spend more somewhere else as

I was just absolutely shocked at the poor customer service and rudest managers I have encountered in my life! I asked the man if he could plug in a display to make sure it worked . The man said no. I was blown away. I walked back to the display and decided to ask and question him as to why. He said because it was a hassle. I was mad and said there was an extension cord he could plug it into and he said no because it was up high and he would have to go get a ladder. I said, And? He said , I'm not going to do that. I was shocked he blatantly said no, he wasn't going to do that. The woman with him was a manager too. She muttered something and I left.The Santa Rosa, can store on Mendocino Ave, has lost a couple people since Xmas, and now I know why!The store reeks negativity as soon as you walk in and is sloppy. The merchandising is poor and THEY DONT CARE!It shows. I will never go there again. They hate their jobs and the company is ok with that. They should be fired!

I don't usually shop at Big Lots but decided to visit. Friendly employees and the store were decently stocked. Great selection on candy, and the pricing was fair. Left with a couple of bags of candy for the commute home.

I was at the que line and a customer is being rude and yelling at the cashier's face but the associate was still polite and respectful with the frustrated women. Everytime I shop at this store the manager and her team work so hard to keep the store well stock, organize and clean. If you're one of the impatient customer don't shop at Big lots go somewhere else because there doing an amazing job!

Just wanted to give a shout out to Big Lots employee at the Santa Rosa store. Monique was amazing. She was pleasant and very well informed. Helped me find discount I never knew I had. I reslluappreciated her.

Worst run store I've ever seen. Manager outside having a cigarette break over 30 min while I'm waiting for them . Store is a mess , employees are over worked doing ridiculous tasks like returning all the non price tagged merchandise which is basically the entire inventory. One cashier to handle the whole que.... the employees are doing their best to keep up without any experienced, productive and motivated management to support them. I would have spent a lot more money had it not been so inconvenient to bring up EVERY PRODUCT TO THE CASHIER FOR A PRICE CHECK ESPECIALLY WHEN I HAVE TO WAIT IN A LINE TO DO SO. Products wrapped up on a pallet that employees cannot touch to replenish the empty shelves so product is there but you can't purchase it?!? Get it together Big Lots there is NO EXSCUSE FOR THIS. I even saw employees sharing a register without separate drawers! I hope no one attempts to hold the cashier's responsible for a drawer everyone has their hands in...I also saw a Pkg of sanitary napkins taped shut with obviously a few missing and it wasn't even discounted are you serious? Sanitary used to mean something..WOW I have been in retail and management for years and NEVER have witnessed this. Buyers beware. Shop elsewhere.

I was coming to town from Reno, and although their school section is small, Scott the employee who assisted me was very welcoming! His customer service skills were excellent, definitely enjoyed my visit. The store wasn't too busy on the evening of the weekend I stopped by, and best of all the prices for most of their specials were also at half off.

Place is a garbage trap. Everything disorganized, hardly any way to make sense of anything. Bathroom is "out of order" after watching an employee come out after hearing the flush and the sink water running. But out of order. Disgusting store, horrible workers, except one younger woman, who was just had the best attitude with the warmest smile. They don't deserve her and if they had half a brain, they'd do anything to keep her.. Don't go here. Their deals are worse than Walmart. With a smaller selection...

Roaches! They have roaches. I went in there tonight about a half an hour before they closed, I saw a huge cockroach in one of the food aisles walking along the floor by the bottom shelf. When I got up to the register to pay I notified the cashier about what I saw, they seemed surprised, I told them to please tell the manager. As I was leaving I actually saw the manager, I told her that I saw a cockroach and that she should call pest control or something, she just kind of smiled like it was funny and said okay. DO NOT buy food from here! Check anything you do buy from here thoroughly for bugs!

Big lots is a great store, Love the prices you never know what you'll find. But you have to buy it when you see it, because you never know what they're going to get back in stock. They have a good rewards program that sends coupons. The staff have always been courteous.

I can never go into this store and leave with just what I came for lol There's always good deals here. The people are always friendly and super helpful. The store is usually kept tidy and everything is easy to find.

This place has really gone down hill. Set of 4salad plates, one was broken and only offered 10 percent off. Common sense says...set of four, one broke, take a fourth off. Also aisles were a mess, many blocked with piles of stock just abandoned. Couldn't fit down them, certainly no shopping carts could fit either. Merchandise on the floors. No way this place is ADA accessible.

Recently, I noticed that this store was a little unkempt. I stopped by today and observed that things have greatly improved. It is much more organized and and gives the appearance of a store that you want to hang around in and see what it has to offer. I like to look over their dvd's. But I looked around and found they have a large selection of items at discounted prices. Keep up the good work!

You could tell me the store was ransacked by looters in the midst of a zombie apocalypse and my response would be "Yeah, but still." No organization, employees have no idea where anything is. There were 3 cashiers, only one of them was actually cashiering.

I love this place! The manager helped me look for what I wanted, and helped me to my car. I got way more than I planned to, but next month is now covered for most staple/pantry/snack. And I only spent $80, and that included new bedroom slippers (nice!) and new pajamas! I feel like I robbed the place!!

I went to Big Lots to shop for Christmas ornaments and I was disappointed with their selection and their prices. They didn't seem to have nearly selection that they have had in previous years. What's they did have have seemed overpriced. The cashier however was very friendly and outgoing and I appreciated his positive attitude.

All the food is boxes up, the shelves cleaned off. Not sure what is going on, but saw a wet spot on an adjacent aisle that looked nasty. The air vent above the food aisle looks like it has blown dirt or mold for years. I wouldn't buy anything in here if you had allergies.

Big Lots has great prices on household products, paper goods, linens, toys, pet supplies, batteries... Store feels kinda junky but good prices make up for it. There is a discount membership card available. Good location not far from freeway, plenty of free parking. Drugstore and restaurants adjacent to the store.

Big lots is a completely different animal yes it's crowded and yes it's not very organized and yes its impossible to find someone to help you. But if you're on the hunt for great bargain deals than look no further.
