I got a couple of pullets right before Thanksgiving. They are good hens and the buff orpington has been giving me the best eggs. The French copper Maran is just about to start laying. I also picked up dog food for my German Sheppard and treats for my hens here. I think it is family owned, customer service and prices were great!

I had high hopes for this place based off reviews and I attempted to contact them, but I didn't get a response so had to show up.Before you try to go here, the hay is only for bigger livestock and not rabbits or guinea pigs. The cutting tends to be 1st, and ideally you want to be looking for 2nd.They also won't say their supplier for whatever reason, which isn't great if you're trying to avoid a company you've had issues with due to quality control.Wish they had been upfront before I drove out there with them knowing that's why I wanted a new hay supplier.

I visited this place for the first time to get a few bales of hay. The hay I purchased was very good quality. They have a nice selection of live stock too. I went inside to pay for my hay and bought a few more things. The store is well stocked with a large selection of things to choose from. Products for horses, dogs,chickens, you name it. This is a nice place, clean and the people are very nice and helpful.

This place is INCREDIBLE the owner was super friendly and knowledgeable. He was honest, gave me advice and set me up. I feel like he really cares about his customers. I will definitely be back! The place was very clean and organized. It's a family owned small business great place. I picked up a hen and supplies I'm new to the organic chicken game but am ready to roll thanks to Golden State Hay!

This is where I get my hay and I am always taken really good care of when I come. Customer service is great and they get me in and out fast. I have been purchasing hay from them for 2 years and it is always good quality and I have never had to return a bale once. That says a lot for a feed store because sometimes mold and other things in the hay is hard to avoid during certain times of the year. This means they have a good relationship with the growers they purchase from. Very important. They have many other animal products besides just feed and can give you a lot of information on how to take care of your animals. I love that they are a small family business. Supporting the people that make our community great is so important!

So I asked lady at register what I should use for "flea PREVENTION" She gets me a blue box of capstan. I get home and read the instructions that indicates it's used to treat "flea infestation. My puppy iS NOT or WAS NOT infested. $45.00 for a product I didn't need. I returned it explained what had happened. She read the box and said it was for prevention. Well ok, maybe I overlooked it. I read box again and it does NOT say nothing about "prevention.I was not only mislead but they charged 15-20 more than had I gone out of town.This is why Santa Paula will never get ahead. The people who play a major role in pulling us up are the ones that are jumping on our shoulders.Shop Santa Paula? No Thank You

Where have I been? I wish I knew about this store years ago. Wild bird food way cheaper than the standard, small bag you typically buy at Home Depot a d not to mention all the beautiful animals one can see a d and purchase.

With no apparent supervision, home schooled girl ~10 (maybe older) and her slightly older brother performed sale of bale of pine shavings and delivered it to back of my car. She also answered all of my questions about items that they stock. The were both well spoken and very polite. Wow! I believe this is a product of great home schooling and parents giving their children meaningful/purposeful responsibility. GOLDEN STATE HAY ROCKS! We'll be back for sure.

Got our absolute favorite dog there. Family owned. I buy my hay and feed their for my chickens and goats. Wonderful place to bring your kids to visit all the animals.

They had really good pigs there for fair at a reasonable price, and was better than most breeders, and it did well at fair !!! I know i will be buying there for fair this year !!!
