Went to the store and bought 2 nature valley granola bars boxes. Had them on sale for 1.99 and when I paid they charged me 4.98 for them. Then when I open one at home it was only 4 in the box when it was suppose to be six? I didn't even want to take the trouble and returning them. I would have wasted my time but I will not be back anytime soon. SMH. I guess the standards has lowered for some arcane reason

I've outgrown toys myself. But this time of year I buy a lot of toys at Big Lots because it's a wonderful place to get things to fill up the "toys for tots" collection boxes. It is just the right thing to do.

Went to big lots today in SM. was overcharged for 2 items. Sticker on item states $5.00 but charged $5.99 each.😟

No bathroom. They said to go use the starbucks bathroom across the street. It was a management who told me that. So We had to conclude our shopping very early and leave. I am handicapped and I don't think it is too much to ask. After all I was a paying customer. I was there to purchase a king size bed, mattress, and dresser as well as do my monthly shopping. But God Forbid I would have the audacity to ask if I might possibly relieve myself. Well I don't mind finding a business that is able to display a little glimmer of humanity. There are plenty out there. Im sure these folks could care less that I soiled myself anyway. I expect that they would find it humorous. I WON'T EVER BE RETURNING. I DON'T EXPECT THAT TO MATTER EITHER.

During my visit today the store was kept clean the people working there were friendly & helpful. The reason for the rating not being higher is simply that the Prices are not like they used to be whatsoever. Biglots needs to bring back the great deals not just 1 or 2 good buys like there is now. The selection of all the items in the store is smaller now to accommodate the large furniture section.

this is a great little store to shop at. It's always clean neat customer service is always friendly. All their Christmas stuff is out now and fall stuff is tremendously discounted. They have a lot of canned goods and items and cereal and so for that you can get a lesser price than you look at the grocery store. so check it out I'm sure you'll find something that you can use in there.

Friendly and helpful. Associate loaded rug into car and was careful when doing so.Only bad thing is the cell service is terrible inside. If you have a Big Lots reward on your phone, best to upload it before entering.

I love shopping here I just wish they had more help to maintain the store. I have picked up several items that were missing the product so check that everything is therebefore purchase. I love that they still have layaway especially in a economic time like this.

The staff was not friendly or helpful. I asked an employee for help finding a kitchen island and she said it wasn’t her department and reluctantly called someone else as if it were a hassle. The employee she called over said he was too busy stocking and I had to wait until he was done. Another employee walked over and took over and helped me but was still short. I would not go back.

Kinda disappointed. I thought this place was supposed to offer goods at discounted prices but that's not what I found. The employees were very nice, but the store was a mess.

This is tough. I want to give them a higher score, but on the day we were there, it was messy, hard to push a cart around. Good buys, nice staff, just not easy to move around within there store itself based on clutter.

I love big lots for their random affordable things. Furniture, seasonal stuff, weirdly priced food and snacks, they have it all. Great place for Christmas shopping. If you don't know what someone would want, you're bound to find something there!

They are in the process of moving things which was fine. But the register situation needs to be re thought. Only one way out and if you are at the register on the far end or middle there's no room to get around the customers at the other register.

Great customer service. Went online before I went to the store and got a membership therefore when i checked out i had an additional savings. Which like anybody else i do love!

New owners, if they arent new then they got greedy. Over priced and high end priced low budget material. I used to look forward to shopping here. They have raised the price 4xs what it use to cost here. I dont think they like keeping prices low for the peoole that love it here. Get it together for the families that rely on spending less money.

I like Big Lot but I do not like the fact that the Santa Maria location does not accept food stamps.. I have money and all but there was a time I couldn't afford to spend extra money on food.. I know in this area a LOT of families use food stamps so I would think Big Lots would actually MAKE more money by accepting Food Stamps

Typical 5 and dime type place. One offs and over stock of brand name goods. Have bought the exact same items elsewhere for 3 to 4 times the price. As for the terrible reviews of this place, I advise any opinion given in all caps,with multiple spelling errors and misplaced punctuation in the first sentence, be taken with a grain of salt. Commenting on the cleanthliness of the bathroom? Really? No its probably not amazing, but neither is the one at Macy's.

Popped in there for bits and pieces and to checkout X-mas lights. Had to ask an employee, "did someone steal Christmas from you guy's? Very few lights, except the ones that fell off the strand as someone ran towards the door without getting caught! I mean the dust bunnies were playing ice hockey where Christmas was supposed to be going on. Almost bought an extension cord though but didn't need one, not enough lights. Nice and friendly employees, store was so so. Nothing really jumped out at you and said, Buy me!

I love the Big Lots brand and I've been to many other locations in southern California, so in comparison to those, the Santa Maria store is the worst one I've been to so far. Everything seemed dirty, disorganized and understocked.

Can never find help. Things are never priced correctly. Store needs a deep cleaning. So unorganized. Not managed well. They need better training and communication
