What a horrible experience I have never been to a place where the employees were so rude and the manager made it worse. I wanted to buy something expensive behind locked glass. See photos I have attached. I asked an associate who was walking by to open the case she went to get keys and was told by the manager NOT to help because the line was too long. Then another associate walked by and I asked her for help and she told me no one would help me because I was rude. But I wasn't rude I wanted someone to open the case so I could buy something and wasn't getting help. Then I found the manager and asked her the name of the woman in the red shirt for this review but she refused to tell me the woman's name and then the MANAGER refused to give me her name and told me to leave. This is a horrible place. I visited on April 15 2023 at 4:30pm and I am writing this review from the parking lot at 5:14 pm. Never again will I go to any Pet Smart. They may as well rename the place Pet Rude.

Always a long line but it's not unpleasant. Employees are sweet even when they're busy. I can usually find what I need but they do run out on occasion so I check back frequently.

Huge store full of awesome pet finds and pets! They have so many different types of birds, reptiles and fish for sale. You can get lost in the aisles of stuff for your pets. They have such a spectrum of options. From wholesome pet food stored in refrigerators, to generic brands, you can be sure that what you’re looking for, they will carry it.There’s a dog grooming area in the store with large windows. You can watch other dogs getting groomed, or keep an eye on your dog if you take them in.I love all the fun toys they have for all sorts of animals. They also carry easy $1-$5 items around the checkout area for easy to grab treats.Plenty of free parking out front. Employees are really friendly.

Petsmart is known across the country as a sub-par chain that doesn't truly respect animals or living creatures. If you need an example go to any store and walk into the aquarium section. Nevertheless this store is constantly understaffed resulting in a single register line that meets the back of the store. The healthcare center is careless and feel no importance in the health of your pup or cat. They will tell you they're busy when you're dog is bleeding in front of them and they're filing their own nails at the desk. As for the bathing center. I've never seen a bigger rag tag group of incompetence. Appointments are always rescheduled or canceled last minute with no legit reason. My first time taking my dog here for a bath, they charged me full price and ABSOLUTELY 100% didn't wash my dog or cut her nails or give her a bow to disguise it. Nothing and I wasn't even given a refund. Stay away from these scam artists before they cost you more than money.

This is a review for Petsmart Grooming.Robyn and Sabia are extremely unhelpful. Robyn even had the audacity to refer to Sabia as a “senior” groomer…. What a joke. They cancel their coworkers bookings because they do not get clients themselves.In my opinion, they should find a new environment to work. The whispering to each other in front of clients and lack of knowledge in grooming is juvenile, caty, and straight up unprofessional.I took my dog to get groomed, arrived 10 minutes before the appointment and within 5 minutes said they were unable to do the job. Even though the booking was with Lily (who was on break). Lily is one of the very few trained groomers here. Robyn stated that I would need to take my dog to have a medical grooming from a vet and then cancelled my appointment on the spot even without Lilys consent or knowledge.Later that evening I had an appointment to get routine vaccines for my dog, so I asked the vet if my dog could get a medical grooming. The doctor said it is not necessary to pay more for a medical grooming and any dog groomer should be able to give him a haircut. This confirmed the lack of knowledge from Robyn and “Senior” Sabia.Luckily the following day, I was able to get a same day grooming appointment on the east side and they gave my dog a haircut with absolutely no concerns or apprehensiveness.I would highly recommend you take your animal somewhere else other than Petsmart Grooming for a haircut. Don’t waste your money on the grooming there. I promise your pet will appreciate a more personal and caring groomer anywhere else but Petsmart.

I was there for 45 minutes needing help with fish tank equipment. After asking for assistance from cashiers multiple times. They didn’t seem to care and didn’t send anybody to assist. I will just buy my equipment online. Always try to buy local but some stores just don’t want to sell or assist?? With travel time that was 1.5 hours wasted of my day.

Both of my Yorkies recently went in for a grooming and they came back with poodle cuts around the face and ears. Staff were asked for the typical yorkie cut around the face & ears and completely disregarded the clear difference. Such a disappointment :(

When I first arrived in Santa Cruz, the only place I was able to locate that sold dog food and pet supplies was Petsmart. They were able to match most online retailer pricing. However, they made it extremely difficult when trying to match pricing. Most clerks at this at this store were extremely helpful and very, very courteous. In the end, it became more expensive to continue to shop here. So, I had to look someplace else, and I finally found pet pals. So, if you're looking for great pricing and the same great terrific products that you normally buy at Petsmart, give this place pet pals a visit, you won't be disappointed, and it'll really make your budget happy.

Great place to shop for anything pet related. They have all kinds of specialty pet food. One of our pets needs a special kind of dry food. Last week I ran all over Scotts Valley and Santa Cruz and struck out at several stores. I popped into PetSmart and of course they had the food we needed in stock.

If I could give it a no star I would. The living conditions of the fish, betas and bearded dragons were absolutely so sad to see. Lots of sick, dying or dead fish. The tanks are not clean. The bearded dragons tanks are covered in feces. No fish tanks were being treated for illness. It was really sad.

I think that they are priced to high spent 30 on deformed and found same product fir 5 at Walmart. BUT they have everything you need for your pet in one place so either that or shop around which can take longer depends what's important to you I guess

Great store! My wife and I have been in there a handful of times to purchase things for our new four legged friend. The staff have been very helpful and eager to help. I appreciate this store and will come back. I can't speak to their grooming services, since we haven't used them. However, we plan to try them out in the future.

A pet store... what's not to like? Still good. They took care of this customer. Going up to 5 stars. Lately they are criminally understaffed. Service has been terrible the last few trips. And the horrible service is not an employee issue. Not enough qualified employees problem.

If you care about your dog’s well-being, then take them somewhere else to get trained. Jill is the worst trainer I have ever encountered. She doesn’t provide any real activities where all the dogs could play with each other. Also, she will tell you one thing and expect you to catch on yourself without anymore explanations on how to do it. To make matters worse, she brought in her own dog and her dog did not even obey any of her commands.

Went here today to get some food for my cats and thought I’d go give some love to the kitties up for adoption. Several that I was petting had dry noses and when I looked I was shocked to see a large amount of them didn’t have water in their cages! When I asked employees about getting them some water cause they appeared dehydrated they said they couldn’t access the cages and an agency came once a day to take care of them. Animals spilling their water bowls happens often & it kinda seems like animal abuse to leave them with no water to the point their noses were dry. Disappointing to see a place that caters to people’s pets treating their own animals so poorly

I purchased a box cat food here and there was a piece of tape going across the top of the box, but I thought maybe it just came open and the product is still fine and so I bought it anyway. I bring it home there's six cans missing out of it. So, I have to drive half an hour all the way back to the store to exchange it for one that's full. They did not offer any kind of compensation or discount and then when I pressed to say hey you really should be compensating me because I had to bring this back because you sold me a product that was incomplete, I was told to wait in a long line for a measly $2.00. For those reasons, I have to give this pet store one star for their lack of customer service. Clearly they do not appreciate the people who shop there at all.

Large store with wide variety of cat food and carriers. Also have good selection of cat trees. Tons of other pet items as well from grooming services, fish, birds, accessories and a pen I can only imagine holds some sort of pet training. They also have pet jewelry for humans at the check out.

Finding someone to help you is like a game of hide and seek. The layout of the aisles makes little sense as they're spread out widely. It used to be better, way better.The staff was eager to assist, and were knowledgeable, now it just seems like there is 1 person on the floor and 2 cashiers.

This store is so disorganized and does not have all the pet items you need. Call ahead to ask if they have what you need so you don't waste your time. I've gone 3 times and each time they didn't have anything worth buying except some dog treats. I even tried to curbside pick up something (online said it was in stock). I placed the order and waited 3 hours for it to be ready for pick up. Guess what? They cancelled my order because that item wasn't actually in stock. Meanwhile the tiny Wishbone Pet Company store next to Safeway has had everything I needed at cheap prices. Why is petsmart so big when they are missing so many items??

Well our cat was loving it and when I asked him what he thought about his own experience he didn't answer my question. I think he was mad at us for making him get his check up. The nurses said he was a good patient and gave him a treat for his bravery.
