I had to pop in there in between meetings to get chicken feed since we were almost out and I was able to get a quick answer to what I needed and help loading the huge 50 lb bags into my car. The staff they are very knowledgeable and efficient. I'll definitely be going back there more often.

This place has been in business forever. Great group of people. I would have given up five stars but when I went in there to get a 50 lb bag of chicken scratch they were out had to come back to get it a few days later. The reason why they're not getting five stars has I feel there's no reason why they shouldn't have been totally stocked up on chicken scratch you always stock up more than you need it'll sell eventually.

There’s literally one friendly and helpful person there. The Equine stock is less than par, and the staff in that area need some customer service training. Although it’s very convenient location-wise, I’d rather shop somewhere else. Hard to support a locally owned shop when I can get better service from an on-line store or even tack stores on the east coast over the phone.

Thanks to wonderful longtime employee Brett who is always helpful and sincerely friendly, this is a fun place to shop. A somewhat limited selection of pet supplies other than horse - related but usually excellent hay . I miss the little aviary , wish they'd kept it.

double check your receipt at your car. I was charged for product I didn't receive, and given product I could not use. This is my fault at the end of the day, but be careful. The staff will give you something "close" to what you ordered and hope you don't notice.

Can't find better hay for a better price. If you have herbivores you will hopefully be coming here a lot! Bales of hay are a great price, but you can buy smaller quantities as well for much better than pet store hay quality and prices. My rabbits would be so sad without this wonderful grass!

I love these guys. So knowledgeable! Also love that they carry awesome Orchard Grass Hay, and LMF feed. I have 2 rescue minis, 10 days of LMF Senior; glossy soft coat already.Thx for being my go to feed store, although l do have to avoid the tack room...lol.

Greet feed store, friendly staff, very large selection of products, great customer service. However, they don't always have the best alfalfa in. We have picky horses and they don't always like what's in. I've sometimes found better at other local feed stores.

Probably the coolest feedstore I have ever been to.Santa Cruz is cool anyway.Hell even the cops are cool there.The folks that run the place are truly "salt of the earth people.In 2016, it rained 52 inches in 2 months. I had 17 horses to feed that winter. That winter was the most difficult winter of my life. Every night for 2 months, after dark I led 17 horses down to the graveyard, where there was plenty of grass for them to graze.I sat on the back of the best horse I have ever known in the pouring rain, till just before sun up. Then i would lead them all back to where we lived.At the time it was like living in a nightmare, because that was just not enough for 17 horses. It was very hard on me and my horses. One day, because I had no other options, I asked the folks at the feedstore if i could sweep the hayroom floor to get me through winter. They told me I could, and once they even went above and beyond the call of duty and gave me 8 bales of hay and two bags of grain I tried to pay them back once, but they wouldn't take it...So I have only good things to say about this totally cool feed store.As I write this, Tears start to well up from the memories of that incrediblydifficult time. Not because of the hardships, but more because of the kindness that they showed me and to my horses...

Sometimes I have to call ahead to make sure my duck foods are in supply. Other than that this is the most customer friendly place. And they will do special orders although now harder with Covid19.

These guys are great! They can answer any questions you may have about raising chickens, They sell all sorts of dog bones and you can even buy grass seed here.Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff

They are so helpful. I had to get a dog collar and they custom made it, putting more holes into it. It's the best collar also. They have a lot of leather also.

Traditional feed and grain store just like the one I went to when I was a kid growing up in the valley. They have a nice Aviary with chickens and ducks and geese. You can buy hay and alfalfa and dog and cat food . As well as Supply supplies for your horse and other farm animals. It will have all you need.

Since my early childhood, I have been coming to this store to purchase both feed and supplies for animals as well as to come listen to local bands. Though the bands don't come around as much anymore, this is still a place you can find a well knowledged staff when it comes to your animal's needs. From the bovine to the canine, the equine to the feline, General Feed and Seed is a fun place to come and get their grub!

This place has a large variety of food for a large variety of animals. Not sure if there's another place within 50 miles that would have what this place has. Very pleasant staff. A real bit of country.

The employees were kind and helpful but the chicken and rabbit feed I bought was mostly dust and with each scoop you'd get mostly a cup of "saw dust" might of just been the feed brand but still.

Disappointed. Sales clerk didn't know which blankets were on sale, or able to help us find one. No kelp today either. Will order a blanket from another company, and find kelp elsewhere.
