Whites Pets is so good to our Pup. Every experience our dog has with them is pleasant, easy, and beyond our expectations. Dr Reid genuinely cares, even calling to check in on our doggy after we had to take her to another emergency vet in the middle of the night. That's more than my human doctor would do and I was so pleasantly surprised to hear from her! So grateful for them, they are the best !

All of our dogs and cats are the patients of White’s for more than 18 years. All the staff and doctors are kind and helpful. Doctors’ advice is always reasonable and pet oriented. I said good bye to my 18+ yrs old dog. It meant a lot for me to receive the sympathy card from the staff when we were recovering from the loss. Excellent place to keep our pets healthy and happy. Dr Mara Weiss is great. She was great to my Kenji.

I have been going to Whites Vets for over 20 years so it really saddens me to write this review. But I feel it is important because I do not want what happened to me to happen to anyone else and their pets. I brought in my 4 year old dog because he had not been eating and was very lethargic. The doctor did an x-ray and said he had eaten a ball and it was stuck in his stomach or intestines. I am not sure why but she sent me to VCA Care to have it scoped rather then remove it herself. $3200 later, the VCA doctor told me there was no ball in his stomach, only bile and sent me home with probiotics (BTW - I am not happy with VCA Care either). They recommended I speak with the doctor at Whites to inquire as to why she sent me there, which I did the next morning. Meanwhile my dog was still very sick and not eating. When I relayed the info to the manager at Whites about what I was told at VCA, not only did she accuse me of making up "outrageous accusations", she fired me as a client and then hung up on me. I was shocked. Nothing like this has ever happened to me before. All I wanted was to understand what was happening to my dog, sort through the different information that was given to me and get him desperately needed care. The employee at Whites was so rude, would not have any kind of discussion with me about what happened and hung up on me. The whole thing felt like I was being let go to protect themselves and their error. As a small business owner, I could never imagine doing what this person did to me and to my dog. We were discarded without care, which is literally their entire business. Thank goodness for Adobe Vets. A friend of mine referred me to Adobe, after telling me she was not at all surprised to hear about what happened at Whites. The vets at Adobe examined my dog, did x-rays and saw the ball stuck right where his stomach and intestines meet. Dr Siegal immediately performed the operation to remove the ball and saved my dogs life. If it were not for the team at Adobe, and because of Whites negligence and lack of care, my dog could have died. There are so many great Vets here in Santa Barbara, if you care about your pets health, I absolutely do not recommend Whites.*A response back to Whites. If you accuse your clients of not being honest about their pets needs, what is happening to them, what was relayed to you by other medical providers, well then you have failed your clients and our pets. And what would I possibly have to gain by not telling the truth while looking for medical care for my dying pet? All I wanted was your help and you turned me away at the most dire time. In this case, your actions neglected the proper care of my dog and he could have died because you did not believe me and did not want to talk to me about what occurred. And you have now accused me of not being respectful enough to remain your client while this was happening and while I was watching my dog become sicker and sicker. This coming from medical providers that I have trusted with my pets with for years. So so incredibly disappointing. I promise you I will tell every person I know about what happened at Whites and to everyone who will listen. Take care.

We were heartbroken to have to put down our nine-year-old dog, beloved PET, and Dr. McFarland was just fantastic so kind and understanding gave us space to grieve and say goodbye and treated our dog with such respect. We so appreciated her tender, loving care. Also the staff was wonderful thankful for whites.

I'm very happy with White Pet's Hospital. They're always really kind, patient and in a happy mood every time that I bring my dog. What I love the most is the receptionist at the front, she was really helpful and answered all my questions with all the patience in the world. On two different occasions she has helped us with our dog Jessie with ailments that weren't obvious to diagnose -- but she got it right both times. And White's staff went above and beyond in helping us get in for help when we needed it. They are the best!

Dr. McFarlin made time to see us on a busy day after our dog ripped his toenail off. She was so nice and thorough and explained everything that needed to be done. She was able to perform the procedure the same day, and we had our dog home in a couple hours on the day before Thanksgiving. We’ve had many good experiences at White’s over the years but this day, and Dr. McFarlin were above and beyond.

I was able to get Miss Lily Bug in to see Dr Mcfarlin(Asap) as a drop off after Lily tore her Acl and thankfully we are on the road for scheduling a surgery at the end of the month. Thank God for Dr Mcfarlin for squeezing us in she is amazing and always there for us❤️

This appointment was easy to get and the staff was very efficient. Somehow they worked us into their full schedule. Dr Weiss was thorough in her exam. We have been clients for over 50 years (through 8 dogs). This visit was among the best.

Everything at White's is handled by phone now, except for the staff member who comes outside to pick up and return your pet. Dr. Weiss examined my grandpup Lucy today and after the appointment was very nice and informative. The woman on the phone was also very helpful, and remembered a special request from my daughter. No complaints for this on time visit. A phone person earlier in the day, however, did not know that the Flea and Tick medication Revolution is also treatment for heartworm, and led me to believe that my grandpup was not taking heartworm meds. That caused some confusion and concern, which is what brought my rating down from 5 to 4 stars.

My pets and I have been going to White's Pet Hospital since a previous century. The have saved my animals' lives at critical moments when there was no margin for error. They have kept my animals healthy. They have been compassionate and kind at the most painful moments of all, when it's time to euthanize a pet. Every dog that I have had over the last 40 years (more or less) has been a patient at White's. Their expertise, professionalism and compassion are unmatched, in my opinion. My only regret is that they have discontinued boarding and I have yet to find a place where I feel as comfortable leaving our "girl" when we are out of town.

The reception area was very pleasant. Dr. McFarland's voice mail was rather curt and abrupt. I had just missed her call and immediately called back. Her assistant told me " listen to the voice mail, you will have all the answers you need" not what I expected.

Whites was booked up for weeks but they let me drop off my dog and the vet was able to squeeze him in between appts and then called to tell me what had to be done. His dew claw had created a problem and they fixed it and sent him home with instructions. He's fine now and I'm grateful that they saw him and fixed his foot before it was a major problem.

It was wonderful. I got to go in with my dog for her exam, masked of course and her Vet., Dr Weiss was very efficient and patient with Pink, my dog who is very attached to me. Dr. Weiss performed her exam and then took her to the back to administer her bortedella, for kennel cough. And out the door we went only paying half the price of what other Vets here in Santa Barbara and being on a fixed income, well that was a plus! I’d truly recommend Whites Pet Hospital to anyone who is looking for a great vet. with a wonderful staff to take they’re pets to! Thank you, Whites…

My experiences have been Amazing! They have been our Vet for over 25 years.I recently brought our dog in without an appointment and they were able help him with a serious situation. Several of them stayed after hours and they went Way Beyond to help us with our dog. They are all also so friendly and caring.I would and do highly recommend them!
