My rescue dog is super cute but, due to past neglect/abuse, she is extremely afraid of people (she wouldn't let me pet her the first few days I had her), so finding a groomer willing to deal with an unpredictable, fearful dog can be challenging. Barking Good was willing to work with Penny and after a few grooming appointments, Penny has become increasingly more comfortable with the groomers. I can tell that they truly love all dogs, not just the nice, easy-going dogs.

SB Paws and Claws does a great job with our little dog. They groom him as we request, have him finished when promised, and they are very friendly. It's a clearly hard working crew of groomers. We are very pleased with SBP&C and we look forward to returning.

I am raising my third standard poodle but my new mom jitters remain. When I took my puppy for his first cut I was nervous but they were patient with my questions and able to adjust the requests I had for his 2nd cut.The service has been very consistent, communication easy and they stick to their apt times with my pup done exactly when promised. Other groomers in Santa Barbara serve on a first come first serve basis, so my dog could sit all day waiting to be groomed and I'd have no idea when he'd needs picking up. SB paws and claws has a modern system that's healthier for everyone!It is run by a pair of twins which is even more funApts are booked two weeks out, but they are open late and really work with you to find a time.Highly recommend this groomer!.3/22update: as of March they are no longer able to take new clients. Sometimes they have 7 am slots open so keep trying.

I would NOT TRUST Barking Good with your dog. They have new management. I have been paying them weekly for many many months & up until the new management things were fine. But since new management their weekly grooming got worse & worse. I made a big mistake allowing this poor performance to continue. Then, without getting my permission, they butchered my dog (shaved him; not groomed him). His previously beautiful coat is now growing out again but it will be months before he is back to normal. For a groomer to do this without your permission is inexcusable

Clean, genuinely dog friendly: not like the usual noisy dog grooming factories that I’ve seen and no longer support. This is our new place, our miniature Schnauzer came back perfectly, only took a little over an hour.

I have been regularly taking my mini aussie here for baths/brushouts and they have the best pricing I have found in town. The staff is friendly and the new management has made some great improvements. I would definitely recommend!

My wife and I have come here before with our dog, everything was great untill our last visit. We asked for a basic cut, nothing in depth we just asked 3 things. 1)leave her mustache long 2) no poodle head cut 3) half the length she was at the time. We come and two hours later and she's shaved down, POODLE HEAD cut for her head, sloppy uneven trim work and she still had a large mat on her ear and splitter nail. Yes we understand she had a little matting ( on tail, on ear and inside leg) but that is what a brush and dematting is for. Even willing to pay extra for that. but no it's easier to be lazy and shave everything off and not even get all the matting, than brushing her out the correct way. For 80 dollars before a tip you would think that it would be a decent cut and your dog GROOMER not Shaver would actually adhere to your requests rather take the easy road and be LAZY. We will never return again to barking goods or recommend there services to anyone we encounter.

Excellent, large facility, staffed with caring professional technicians. Easily accessible from state street entrance. Like the visibility from the front to the back where they do their work (for extra assurance). The outcome was fantastic: Lion cut for Winston Wigglesworth with plenty of time to catch afternoon flight. Thanks!

I was on a tight schedule. Had to get Haku shaved then dropped off at Sam's Doggie Dude Ranch then catch a flight. They opened early just for us at 730am to accommodate my schedule. Haku looks so cute!

Had several very nice grooms that I was very happy with even though I had to remind them after the first cut to trim nails. The last groom was terrible and the groomer did the opposite of everything I asked. Not going back.
