The first thing I ever bought at La Cumbre Feed was a bale of hay, way back in 1993. It was for a target backdrop for archery. I was taking a girl on a date (we got married and had kids) and she wanted to shoot arrows. After careful consideration I convinced her that we should set the target up on a hay bale so the arrows could be retrieved. We took the hay to Knapps Castle and set up a little shooting range. We left the hay for foraging animals. I get my cat food from here as well as peanuts and bird seed for backyard entertainment provided by nature. The scrub jays love the peanuts. I need to ask them to order food for my tarantula, it's my most difficult pet to feed.

I always buy my Timothy grass hay here for my rabbits and guinea pig. They also carry Oxbow pellets for them. Love supporting a local business.

I think this place has very nice people and its quaint. You can get bags of straw or hay. Also, if they don't have something, they will order it for you, then call you net week when its in. I think you have to call them or stop by before Thursday to get it for the next week or something similar. And they will load your feed for you. In today's age, customer service seems to be lacking. You call some place and its an AI chat bot or text message. Here, at La Cumbre Feed, its genuine people, with genuine customer service. If you have poultry or rabbits like me, they have a wide range of great things and feed. And again, the will order you other feed if you have specific needs. They also have a good amount of cat food and dog food - as well as equine supplies. This place is a gem. I hope more people visit here to keep Big Box away.

the only place I'm aware of where I can buy huge bundles of Timothy or alfalfa hay for my baby bunny.... for fair prices. without this place, my only option (in the past) has been Petco, where I could get a tiny little square of hay for like $7.99-$12.99. for the same price, here, I can get about 20x (or more) that amount. seriously! plus they have anything and everything you could need for your ferry friend(s).... h2o bottles, feed trays/dishes, and the staff are awesome! they'll load your car up with your massive hay bag on your way out. love these guys; try to get there early in the day tho, they tend to close pretty early, about mid-afternoon.

Pull up. Easy dirt parking lot - no painted lines.Walk up there’s reassuring stuff outside - barn buckets, bird food. Step inside and as your eyes adjust you smell the hay, the feed - everything that makes an animal lover feel happy to be alive. As your eyes adjust you find bird feeders and salt licks and egg cartons and all sorts of tools and salves. The better brands of dog food and no $1.99 fuzzy neon toys from China. Just real stuff.There is always someone to answer a question or haul the bag of dog food to the car. And always friendly conversation - staff to customers, customers to each other. You just can’t help but feel relaxed here.They have all the basic cat and dog items, horse supplies and many other things that I couldn’t tell you about because I don’t have a farm. It’s worth the trip and an opportunity to support a local business.

I have been a customer there for 25 years, and have had a good experience there every time I've been there. The ladies at the counter are very attentive and positively interactive with their clients, the prices are very good, and their helpers loading large items into vehicles are superb. Everyone is very helpful and positive. For me there have been no exception over those 25 years, and that's why I love to do business with them.

I would never have thought I would be leaving this store a negative review. But that was before I called to find out what was going on after ordering rouge pet treats from them.nasty and rude disrespected my disabilities on top of it all. I went in to buy treats. When I complained to the attorney general about the company that made the treats that they were expired and other vendors had the same problem the response was the Selene accused me of being "disruptive" wow. Strange when I came in to get them she told me that there was a problem with the exp date and I could have them but they might be rancid. I had no beef with this store in fact I went out of my way to converse with Selene about max the owl at our local rescue as she has a giant tattoo of him up her arm. I came back and bought different treats a couple days later and had another nice conversation. In her response to the manufacturer she claimed she remembered it well as I was disruptive and confrontational. WOW. We chatted for 45 mins and there was nothing confrontational about it. When I called to inquire about this she used some filthy comments after first not remembering me, and said I reported that they sold me expired treats. That is not what happened. She went on to tell me off an threaten to have her attorney deal with me, while making inflammatory statements about my disability. Awfully bad news. Selene told me off, refused to allow me to speak after telling me that I reported them for selling expired treats. That is not what I reported to the AG in MO. I reported the manufacturer for selling expired treats knowing that the products had been discontinued and all the treats were 6 months expired. I have the bags with the dates. She automatically came at me aggressively without letting me explain what happened She also did not recall who I was, and yet the manufacturer response was that it was memorable since I was disruptive. I would LOVE to see the tapes from that day. She and I have a very friendly conversation for 45 minutes about the foster owl

Have everything you could need. Such an amazing and helpful staff!! They were great with loading stuff and even gave my kids a full tour of the place. Now they both want to work there. Definitely a gem, and is good to know that local places like this are still there everyone. Go support them!!

I highly recommend La Cumbre Feed. I have been going here for a little over a year. If you have horses (or any other animal) you can count on La Cumbre Feed for a great selection of horse (and animal feed) at reasonable prices.
