Dave’s Dog is by far the best place in town to get specialty hotdogs. The staff is always so friendly and nice. Dave himself is always there to make sure that customers are completely taken care of. I do have to say that my guilty pleasure is there deep-fried Oreos, definitely a must try.Kid-friendliness: Dave’s has a kids menu and atmosphere that allows for kids to be kids.

We went here for lunch while in Santa Barbara. The hot dogs were great. I ordered a BBQ bacon dog and My wife got the chili cheese dog. My wife said it's the best chili she's ever had which says a lot. Next time I will try the Max n cheese dog which looked really good. We went back last night to get dessert and met the owner, Dave. He's a really nice guy and he spent time telling us his story about how he started the business. He's definitely a go getter and the type of person you root for to be successful. The deep fried Oreos are AMAZING! Don't go here without getting them!

First time visit, as a local, bc our 11yo grandson told us about it. So fun! and reminded us of the classic hot dog places you can find in Chicago. So many varieties, (and yes, other choices on the menu). They even have a menu just for their awesome fry selection. It's located right off the freeway, across from the high school, so make sure your weekday visits are before 12:12pm. Lol!

Happened upon this place while on quick family beach weekend.Quick casual joint with a super-friendly staff.They’ve got a nice variety of dogs, burgers, and various fries.We ordered a couple different dogs (Santa Barbara, bbq concoction, a basic kids dog, and a mac and cheese dog). We also tried the asada fries.Long story short, we’re gonna die a few days sooner, but it was probably worth it. The dogs were ridiculous. The frank was high quality and cooked perfectly. The toppings were proportioned well and the bun nicely grilled/toasted.Very nicely done all around. Definitely worth a stop for a little bite indulgence.

This place rocks! For something that started out as a pop-up shop and now has two locations what a fantastic job Dave has done with his business. I really enjoyed their corn dogs, chili dogs and the variety of what you can order is huge,,! They now offer hamburgers and fries topped with anything you want. This place is so cool! The service is amazing, and the hot dogs super tasty. My favorite thing on their menu is their corn with hot Cheetos :). Dave is usually around to greet you with a smile, the hot dogs are ready as soon as you order with fresh ingredients. This has definitely become one my favorite spots.

Hotdogs are amazing and I understand the economy is terrible right now but I give 1 star for a $3.38 fountain drink before taxes. That's outrageous. I just paid $1.25 for a 12oz can of soda and thought that was crazy, but $3.38 for a fountain drink??! Come on man.Edit: I had to return my corndog, the batter wasn't cooked through. It was actually runny inside and inedible, they remade it though.EDIT: After reading several other responses from Dave's Dogs to other low star reviews I can't help but feel their response to this review is overwhelmingly condescending. I will pass on a complimentary water cup because I will also be passing on returning here. Thank you for your long and well thought out diplomatic response, very craftily worded for maximum passive aggressive deniability.

I go here regularly. High time I left them a nice review. They are super friendly here and the hot dogs are super tasty. I usually get the Santa Barbara dog. Delicious! Last time I was here I got the mac and cheese which was also excellent. These guys are over in the turnpike shopping center across the way from lighthouse coffee. Great hot dogs, you can't go wrong with any of their menu items.

Good hot dogs. Note that the food stand on Milpas no longer exists and that Dave's has moved into this new location. I've had several of the hot dogs, and the Pizza Dog is the best and most memorable, featuring the hot dog covered with pizza sauce and parmesan cheese, and the bun closed over it all by an outside seal of melted and nearly-burnt mozzarella and pepperoni. Actually tastes very pizza like. Santa Barbara dog is good too -- reminds me of a "fancy" TJ Dog.

Ordered the Dave's style dog, an order of traditional wings and tater tots. I got my Dave's style dog with a hot link. The hot dog was ok, nothing exceptional tasted like something I could make at home. Maybe if i had gotten one of the more complicated or specialty dogs I would have been more impressed.The tater tots were really good, very hot and crispy when I got them. The wings were also hot and crispy. I got the spicier flavor and the mild flavor. I thought the spicier flavor was the better of the two. It's hard to find good wings in sb and I would definitely come back if I was craving some wings.Update:5->3.5star10/9/19Placed an online order for pickup since I have a 30min lunch. I arrived and checked in 5 minutes before the pickup time and the worker at the counter told me they didn't have an order for me, I showed them my online confirmation and they scrolled on their orders and finally found mine. I then had to wait an additional 25 minutes before my order came out. The worker that brought me my order told me they put some extra wings in my order and that I could pick a drink from the fridge free of charge but I didn't chose not to.The food was still good and I appreciate them trying to make up for their mistake but I wasn't even able to eat lunch because it took so long. I had placed the order online ahead of time because I knew wings would take longer to cook and I wanted it to be ready for pickup. I really love Dave's Dogs but it will probably be a long time until I eat here since this experience left a negative impression.

Food is good, very helpful staff as well. It’s a small place with a few seats to stay in eat if you wish. Most the time it seems people just use the seats to wait for their food then take it home. We stayed to eat and the staff brought us our food when it was ready. Overall was a good experience

Horchata comes in flavors and taste really good. The slushies are good and would make a great happy hour drink if mixed with alcohol. They have just about every type of hot dog and several different types of loaded fries and tots. We ordered for a 2 families and ended up with lots of good food and don't forget to try there fried Oreos!

Dave’s makes great hot dogs with unique flavor combinations. They have other items besides dogs, but their claim to fame rests on the wurst. We had the Western and the SB dogs and shared the loaded Tater Tots. The dogs were fun and flavorful with a high quality beef frankfurter. The tots had generous amounts of carne asada, pico de gallo, warm nacho cheese sauce, and avocado. I think a nice, acidic bite of tangy salsa, or even pickled jalapeños, would have made the tots so much better. We can’t wait to go back and try more of the menu.

The staff is friendly and helpful. I ordered their special Animal Style dog (parody of In-N-Out) and fries. The bun was nice and soft, the ingredients tasted great, and the fries were good. Overall a great place for unique hot dogs.

I was driving back to LA from SF, decided on the scenic route (PCH) so a 6 hour trip turns into a 13 hour trip. By the time Santa Barbara comes into view, it already feels like I'm home.I was looking for something delicious or at least different than a fast food joint, I found this little gem while loading gas for the last stretch of my trip.It didn't seem exciting, I mean hot dogs, but at least they closed late and the reviews were pretty good.Wow! This place will blow you away! Im not driving 100 miles just to eat there, but I'll definitely make a stop there if I'm on the area or passing by!I ordered the Santa Barabara just to see what the locals like, it was so good I ordered a second one, El Niño!Both of them were delicious and surpassed my expectations.The restroom is inside the kitchen, you gotta exit the restaurant and then they open a back door to let you in.

We love the new location on Milpas, but happened to be on this side of town and stopped by for the first time. I've tried most of the dogs on their menu but this time decided to try the chicken tacos.Next time I'll stick with the dogs. The ingredients were all good quality (just like everything on their menu), and the portions were generous, but the taste just wasn't there.I can't give them a bad grade this time though. The food was good, it just wasn't my thing this time. Service was friendly and everyone was observing COVID protocols.
