I've been bringing my dog Pepperoni to Camp Canine for day camp, baths and boarding since adopting him from a shelter two years ago. He loves going there! He starts getting excited when we get close. Always eager to see his friends there. And I've had only positive experiences with the staff. A very well-managed business clearly run by dog-lovers!

I had a highly disappointing experience at Camp Canine in Santa Barbara. The incompetence and lack of accountability displayed by the front desk staff and spa personnel left me feeling frustrated and deeply concerned for my dog.After several instances of miscommunication between the front desk staff and customers, and internally between the staff and spa, I will not be bringing my dog back.I dropped my dog off at the spa to get groomed and told the front desk to make sure the spa trims his facial hair. Upon picking him up, I noticed that they had cut off ALL of his whiskers!!! Whiskers are essential for dogs as they use them to navigate and understand their surroundings. Any responsible and knowledgeable dog caretaker should understand this basic fact and avoid such negligent actions. The side-by-side photo shows a before and after picture taken two days apart. The overall grooming was super uneven, with some spots going all the way down to his skin.Moreover, hearing about other horror stories from my friends about dogs coming home severely dehydrated after their stay at Camp Canine raises serious concerns about the establishment's lack of proper care and regulation.

While visiting Santa Barbara I found camp Canine. The staff was very friendly and helpful with all of my questions. The environment for dogs was so fun. The big dog section even has their own pool area. They will check to be sure your pet has their shots so bring your records. No appointment necessary.

I wish there were more places like Camp Canine in the region! Every staff member I interacted with on the phone and in person was so kind, calm and patient; and even my extra nervous pup spent very little time acclimating between when we walked in to when I handed him off. When you walk in, it feels like you're dropping your pup off at a friend's home with a lovely backyard. I especially loved catching a glimpse of him enjoying himself outside when I came back back to get him 6 hours later. Above all, I loved that when I picked him up, he didn't have that smell that says, "I've been at daycare all day!" I can't wait to drop my little one off again soon!

This place is truly amazing!! Wish there were more places like this. Our pup had the best time at Camp. The staff are all amazing and all of them truly love dogs. All of the staff is incredibly kind and patient and well well trained on how to care for animals their training skills are top notch and you won't find a better place anywhere in the area if you need to be away from your pet puppy. The staff clearly loves the dogs! They also understand dog behavior and will work with you to get your animal socialized ensuring that your pet is comfortable during its visit. Our husky can hardly wait for playdays at the camp. We have also boarded her there. She's very social and slept with other dogs. Never was she stuffed in a kennel by herself. I've grown to totally trust this camp and would recommend it to anybody.

Best place for dogs… I have moved out of town and I still love coming here for my dogs, either overnights when I’m traveling or for grooming.Today I made a mistake on my appointment date yet Jayne was so kind and understanding.She offered to keep my dogs overnight for no extra charge and have them groomed first thing in the morning.The entire staff is so friendly and amazing with dogs.Indy and Crackers are so happy and well loved here.

We’ve taken our mini Dachshund here multiple times now and love it. It’s been great for her socialization and demeanor around other dogs which is important for us because she is an “only-dog” at home. The front office is very professional and responsive and the times they are open are convenient as well. The web portal also makes reserving/paying for a stay for your dog fast and easy. Our dog looks happy playing with all the others here, it is our go-to spot!

I am very particular where I would leave my dogs, and Camp Canine is one of the few I truly trust. I have known the owners for many years, and there is no one that looks after dogs, knows dogs, cares about them than anyone I have ever known. I saw one bad review, and I personally, do not believe it, since it is in direct contradiction to how Camp Canines takes care of pets and their clients. I do know though, people who write some nasty reviews, are false claims due to having a disagreement with owners or don't get the response they want, and draft up fake comments. In over 20 years of experience with Camp Canine, have never experienced anything but above and beyond care for dogs, staff and clients. All the other outstanding reviews, are outstanding because CampCanine deserves it. Have you see the place? It's paradise for dogs! Dogs of all sizes are happy, content, enjoying their home away from home. They are on their own vacation! Little dogs have their own play area, big dogs take turns in small playgroups. The facility is very clean, beautiful, smells nice, and that in itself says a lot, since, we are speaking a boarding facility! It's around the clock cleaning, taking care of dogs and seeing to their welfare. I recommend Camp Canine to anyone, even if have to drive a distance to drop off a pet when leaving on holiday, or bringing in for dog training, it's worth it.

These people are 100% the best animal lovers. And your dog can just play with others as well during day care.My dog who sits at the front door whining for hours when his mom leaves the house actually gets excited when we take him here. He is wagging his tail and literally jumping out of our arms when we arrive. I don't think this is his home away from home. I think this is his favorite home.

Camp Canine was one of the only places to accept unaltered males for day care, and we choose to keep our dog intact for as long as possible to optimize the health advantages. To begin with he started at Camp Canine as a 12 week old pup so he knew the rules, plus we took our dog to puppy classes weekly for six weeks (not at CC, but owner involved) in addition to day care at CC, and socializing at Elings. I have read the review about the dog fight and injuries for the poor lab. Fights can happen, and most trainers and vets will tell you that actual injuries are rare, which is true, but when it is your dog it still hurts. As more and more people choose the route we did as far as keeping a young male intact, the numbers at Camp Canine also increased, as did potential problems. Young males can have no sense at all. This has changed, so the potential fight problem is gone. We had our dog altered (at 2yrs), and are back to occasional playtime at Camp Canine. Camp Canine is very responsible and my dog has been happy there. In fact he jumps (not up, he is trained so this is a metaphor) at the chance to go there and play. When we are stuck for time and know our high energy dog needs lots of play time we send him there for a few hours and he returns happy and tired. Do not hesitate to take your dog to Camp Canine based on the one poor review by the owner of the injured dog, your dog will be happy and safe.

Wonderful facility for the dogs to hang out and play, whether just for the day or overnight. They offer tons of services (different walks, grooming, etc) and they're pretty reasonably priced. The whole place is just adorable; it really does look and feel like a summer camp for dogs!

Had my dog groomed there , he is very uncooperative but they are experienced and did a great job. Kind of a bonus is that you drop off my 9 am but can pick up about 2or 3. They also provide dog boarding - little dogs are separated from larger dogs. Looks like fun place for dogs.

Over the years and with several different dogs, I have always been pleased and taken comfort that my “babies” got excellent care, and that they weren’t trapped in a small cage for the duration of our absence. Several of the dogs had special needs and required medication. No problem!

My dog was afraid at the beginning...but after a week going there she stars being very excited to play with the dogs. The staff is very sweet and caring, but I would love if they have a little less animals per square feet. Otherwise, it is high recommended!

Amazing. My dog is a rescue and I was worried to leave her. They let me call to check in and my dog was happy as ever when i picked her up. Will not use another place. I accidentally didn't leave a tip the last time, but when you checkout it asks you if you want to leave a tip...try to, the staff is amazing and care for the dogs so well!!!

As out of towners, we loved this spot. Disneyland for dogs (and I mean this as a good thing!). Clean, comfy and very well managed. Echo took wonderful care of our Alfred as we explored Santa Barbara. Don't miss Lotusland!
